It has been since my last review that I stepped foot in Sportsman's, and now I know why. They are worse than before. Empty racks, no hunting gear, mostly camping crap, and ammo is behind the gun counter. They didn't even have the ammo we wanted. We ended up going to Cal-Ranch and they had what we were looking for. Went to look at bows and firearms. One guy was as helpful as a wet paper bag. Besides just stating he knew nothing about archery, we were met with a lot of maybes. There are no archery services, but they sell bows. Sounds like a lost opportunity there. However, we did have a positive experience with the firearms CSR. He stated he was ex-PD and took the time to explain different models we were looking at. So if you want a fire arm, start here. Saw Remington 783s on sale in multiple calibers. Advertisement said "free shipping", so I tried to purchase one. They didn't have any in my local store, but had several in other locations. Asked why the webpage wouldn't let me complete purchase and was told that even though they had rifles in other locations, they weren't set up to ship or the logistics made it too hard. read more

Excellent customer service even though I didn't purchase my gun from them. Will be taking the CCW class here next week and will post how that went. Sale items look like great deals - great selection here and the staff is knowledgeable and quick to help. Very good store layout - everything was easy to find. Guess I should have read the reviews before ordering online! This company's customer fulfillment/customer service is a joke! Ordered a scope. They sent the wrong scope. A cheaper one at that. Contacted customer service and instead of them acknowledging their mistake and sending me the correct scope they said I'd have to drop the wrong scope off at a UPS store (closest store to us is over 30 miles away) then place another order for the correct scope and hope they send the right one this time. They offered 10% off for the inconvenience which wouldn't even pay for the gas it would take to drive to the nearest UPS store and back to return it. Then on top of it all asked if I'd like to pay $27 for express shipping! Are you kidding me?! The express shipping should have been taken care of by them considering it was their mistake and they were the ones who should make it right! I will never order from this company again! read more

Went to this location in August. Got there 5-10min before closing(knowing what I needed to get would be a quick in and out), the employees were already walking out the door to their cars. Told them it's not closing time yet and they said oh well and continued to walk to their cars. Rude and don't care about customers. read more

I enjoyed visiting sportsman's Warehouse. They have a little bit of everything. What really impressed me was that this is one of the first stores I've been to in the state of Arizona where everyone was wearing their mask properly. They even had hand sanitizer at the front door. The service was friendly. Plenty of people asking if they could help you. read more

Christmas Shopping for some binoculars! Found a nice pair on sale, the gentleman at the counter proceeded to gather the box and couldn't find it! 3 associates and 45 minutes later! There solution is a 10% discount, might I add in which wouldn't even cover the cost of the harness case, non the less the eye piece covers! Very disappointing and poor customer service, only pair in this try city area of those specs and brand! I would recommend a new system or more trusted associates when selling binoculars if boxes cannot be found! read more

Just a short line to say the employees are pleasant and polite. Last week I purchased another firearm from them and they were helpful and informative. I'm hoping in the near future to be able to purchase ammunition from them , it gets a little frustrating when you buy a new gun and you are not be able to buy the ammunition for it but I understand what is happening with ammo right now. I found this sporting goods store in Prescott with Yelps' help. Thank you! I was pleased with the selection of items in this store when I visited last week. I needed a pair of electronic shooting ear muffs because mine just broke and were unrepairable. They had the Howard Leight Impact style that I was looking for at a fair price. I also added an inexpensive 100 lumen tactical flashlight to my purchase. Checkout was easy and fast. Plenty of parking space too. read more

Dad bought a gun online that was on sale and he was placed on delay for 2 months. My dad has a clean record and has never had an issue buying a firearm. Managers were rude and not helpful. He called today for the status of the delay and with no warning they told him his money was refunded and there would be a 14 day waiting period. They didn't even give him a chance to figure something else out or transfer the gun to a different ffl. Just refunded the money and he lost the sale price. This was a gift for my mom that was ruined. Sucks that he lost the sales price as it was a few hundred dollars cheaper than usual. Will never shop at this business again. read more

Store Location: Sportsman's Warehouse - 1761 E, AZ-69 No.26, Prescott, AZ 86301 To Whom It May Concern: (event recap) I went to Sportsman's Warehouse in Prescott, Arizona, to pick up a "pre-paid" part for a firearm. I produced all the required personal identification which included a current Arizona State Driver's License, a CCW (concealed weapons permit), and the credit card that was used to make the online purchase, per store policy. The employee asked for further identification. His name was "name deleted". He was very authoritative, rude, abrupt, and demanding. Patiently, I produced additional credit cards which also had my name and local address. The employee noticed that I had a (other) State golf card in my wallet and asked me for it (wrong). I produced it. The employee asked if I was a resident of Arizona. I said that I was as evidenced by my Arizona Driver's License, CCW permit, and if he cared to look it up, a long history of purchases at the Prescott Sportsman's Warehouse. "name deleted" asked me why I had a (other) State Golf ID. (this has nothing to do with picking up my prepaid merchandise). Again, (yet losing patience at his belligerent attitude), I stated that I have family in Hawaii and I use the (other)State Golf ID so that I can get better golf green fee rates instead of a high tourist rate. At further rudeness from him, I mentioned that if there was a problem picking up my prepaid merchandise, to cancel the sale and refund me in full, and it would be my last purchase at any Sportsman's Warehouse. "Scott Tailor" said, "that would be fine by me". At this point, an older fellow sales person that has helped me many times in the past interceded and said that he knew who I was and my ID's were more than enough and he would take care of processing my "prepaid" sale. That was fine with me and I was glad for it. But, this nice employee of Sportsman's Warehouse was soon to be interrupted. After waiting for a while as the other employee was helping me (great!), "name deleted" approached me from across the counter and said that he would like to speak to me at the end of the counter. Here, he confronted me aggressively and asked if I was confrontational with him. As he is much younger than my grandchildren, I said that I was too old for that sort of thing but, as he had asked, felt I should point out that he was rude, pushy (bully), and confrontational and that it was not a good way to treat people in the long run of life. At this point, "name deleted" told me, "I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm cancelling your sale and you need to exit the store." Speechless, I left. My main points of contention, and further notes: 1. I went to Sportsman's Warehouse to pick up "prepaid merchandise". 2. I produced more than enough ID and documents required by law and store policy. 3. An employee, "name deleted", took it upon himself to cancel my sale. 4. An employee, "name deleted", told me to exit the store for doing nothing. 5. I have 3 fellow senior retirees and residents of Prescott, that were present with me at that time and witnessed the event. I guess customer service must have been eliminated from the training for employees. In particular one of managers, Scott, was unhelpful and unfriendly. To give him the benefit of the doubt perhaps he had just returned from a root canal or a hemorrhoidectomy. But whatever his problem was he was about as welcoming as a snarling bobcat. My husband and I are done with this store. They are very poorly trained. We have just purchased a security nine compact Ruger gun. Stores policy is to bring The gun to the front counter. You have to announce that you have a gun placed the gun on the table so that they can tag it so we could be able to look for our holster. Knowing this we went into the store announced we had the gun it was unloaded we were going to place it on the table so they could tag it or so that we could go in the back and tag it. So after my husband has announced it he starts to reach and pull it out and place it on the table when he placed it on the table 3 of the employees that were standing around not doing anything started to scream whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa! Very loudly they put their hands up and pushed up against a corner. To be specific it was one man and two women. After this my husband was able to go back and tag the gun so we could look for the holster. We cannot even concentrate because of the humility that they had put us under. So my husband went back to talk to them told them that they handle that very unprofessionally. They could have got him or one of our kids or anyone in the store shot. There are other gun carriers in that store and to see someone standing around saying whoa whoa whoa with hands in the air looks pretty suspicious. If these people are not comfortable being around guns they shouldn't be working in a gun store. They need proper training and help to know how to handle situations such as those. That could have been a very dangerous situation it was also completely humiliating. And unprofessional. They need to know how to handle guns and how to feel comfortable being around them or do not be working in a gun store that is your job to be around guns. I highly recommend Not to bring gun in there or shop because they are very expensive. read more

I came in today to buy ammo. I have been having trouble getting ammo lately, so I was happy to see the shelves fully stocked. I was browsing different ammunition, along with two other customers. After looking for less than 5 mins, a rude employee makes a comment to us. "Staring at it isn't gonna change anything", as he became impatient we weren't moving quick enough, as he apparently was waiting at end of the aisle with a restock cart, waiting to restock shelves. He was Very rude, and continues to badmouth us and vent to other customers as we walked away. He Needs a lesson in customer service and basic politeness, as me and my family will never be shopping here again. Also, when I went to check out, the lady that checked us out asked if anyone was a vet, in which my dad is. He proceeds to show her his military ID, I attempted to pay with my card, as a lot of my purchase was a gift for my father on his bday. She immediately says "no, the vet has to pay", and that I couldn't pay and get the discount. Never have I ever had a issue here, but unfortunately all it takes is one time, dealing with two rude employees, to lose our business forever. read more

I'm done with this dumba$$ store. I've been shopping here since the day it opened, never a problem. I came in there yesterday to buy a holster for my 9mm. I walk over to the holster section and start looking for a holster to fit my gun, I took out my UNLOADED EC9 and tried a few holsters. HOLLYSH!T, some snowflake employee saw me shopping and got the vapors!! "YOU CAN'T BRING A GUN INTO THIS STORE"!! Really?, I've been carrying a gun in this store for nearly 4 years. "IT'S AGAINST STORE POLICY" he cries at me. Hmmm, So how am I supposed to find a holster for my gun if I can't bring an unloaded gun into A STORE THAT SELLS GUNS?? Well, if you want to bring an unloaded gun into this store you have to have it checked in at the counter, tagged and put into a gun case. Next, you have to take the cased unloaded gun to the "Hunting" counter and wait and wait and wait for a "Hunting Consultant" (a $10 an hour sales guy) to walk you over to the holster racks and stand there, watching every move you make, as you try to fit your unloaded, tagged, checked in and monitored gun into a rack of holsters. So a store that displays and sells hundreds of guns and rifles, and has thousands of rounds of ammunition on rack after rack on the sales floor goes nuclear if you walk in with an unloaded gun to shop for a gun accessory? That is ridiculous! An unloaded gun is just a chunk of metal, nothing more. They have no problem handing a customer all the firearms they wish to see along with thousands of bullets just a few feet from the firearms counter, yet they have a nervous breakdown if anyone brings a gun in. I will NEVER shop at ANY sportsman's warehouse again, nor any other store that makes you feel like a criminal for shopping. read more

Went into Sportsman's Warehouse to look at/try on inflatable life vests. They had 4 or 5 choices. What they did not have was any employees that worked anywhere in the store except the gun counter and the checkout counter. No one to answer my questions, I may as well do online research and buy off Amazon. They had a sale/discount on the CO2 cartridges for the vests. Every single one on sale had an expired date.
