Pretty solid hot chicken place but could be better. Hot is not hot at all, compare d to other places it's more medium if anything. I will try x hot next time see if it's better. Secondly the chicken didn't have that much flavor but thankfully the slaw and sauce lift it up. Fries are excellent though, the seasoning on them is really nice. I was looking for a new lunch spot a few days ago and came across Bucky's sounded like a bit of a local hidden gem so I had to go try it out. I went straight for the sandwich with a side of fries. I went for medium to test out the heat and it was very tasty. It had just enough heat to make me taste it but not overwhelm me. I could go up another level and be fine but I did really enjoy the flavor. The chicken was cooked very well, the sauce on the sandwich is tasty and the fries were nice and crispy. It takes a few minutes for an order which leads me to believe he's cooking to order and I'm all for that. Nice hot, fresh made to order food is worth the wait. It's really reasonably priced for what you get as well, I know I'll be visiting again in the future and recommend all spicy chicken loves come give it a try. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst experiences I've ever had. We paid for extra sauce and only got one--seriously? Ordered both sandwiches in the medium flavor and if you like heat and can handle the sniffles this is just perfect.. anymore heat and I think it would kill the meal... big sandwich and it could be shared but who does that anyways? Comes with a nice slaw not the creamy kind which I appreciated and the pickles give it a kick. The food at Bucky's was Superb. We had the chicken sandwiche and it was delicious. It was surprisingly big as well I couldn't finish it. The chicken was flavorful and the sauce was great. I really like how they make their own style of cole slaw this one isn't very sweet. I personally prefer my creamy sweet coleslaw but I still enjoyed this one. We were disappointed because when we arrived they were already out of many items from the menu but it could be because we did arrive about 30 minutes before it closed. I had done my research prior to gauge where we wanted our hotness level and what we would order. Yelp reviews basically told me that any amount of heat is quite hot for some and that the order of chicken sliders was large enough to share... Perfect. It was delicious for $14. Chicken was well cooked and juicy. Bun was fresh and soft I like the sweeter twist on the fries. Different. Yummy. Coleslaw is usually a no for me but I had it on the side for hubby to eat. He did not finish it. Thiis is not a blue ribbon winner coleslaw but I am sure the point of it is to have some on the sandwich to cool your mouth down. The sauce - I also got this on the side to lessen the soggy factor for the take out. Very good even though it is mayo based. Hot and spicy like the chicken. And we only got the medium to try! It was a unique experience for sure but the quality has never faltered. My first time I daringly ordered the X-Hot sliders. We're talking full on ghost pepper and crazy hottness. Why I did this, I'll never know. But it sure was a fun experience watching the boyfriend sweat it out! Even with the heat, the flavor was phenomenal. Fast forward to last week when I saw Dionysus serving up Mango beer slushies - yum! It worked out well since Bucky's was there on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We met up with some friends and again ordered the sliders - this time being a little less adventurous and going with the Medium and Hot. The sliders are good sized for the price and have large chunks of deliciously and thickly seasoned chicken. One reviewer mentioned the breading sliding off - we did not have this problem. In fact, I was surprised how well everything stayed intact. Yes, the chicken was spicy and at one point I think they may have confused Medium and Hot, but it wasn't a big deal. Just go in with an open mind that you will be eating Hot chicken. Make sure and order extra Sauce. It's like Cane's sauce but 100x better. It just makes the chicken even better. The pickles are also a perfect addition. If you're not a fan of hot chicken, check out their deliciously seasoned fries. I mean, there's sugar sprinkled on them! I would go out on a limb and claim these fries are some of the best I've ever had. Period. In the end, Bucky's isn't for everyone. I got the two piece strip meal with medium heat. The medium is more like hot. I can't imagine what the next two levels are but medium is probably not for most people imo. I like spicy stuff but this was too much for me. The chicken portions are huge and possibly too big because the breading really gets lost among the spice and chicken. The breading doesn't stick to the chicken either. The fries are good but have too much sugar in the seasoning. As a result of this I can't really recommend this place. Well, sadly first and last time I visit Bucky's! I ordered a chicken sandwich combo and literally received my meal in like 2 minutes! Right off the bat I know they just built the sandwich with chicken that was precooked and sitting around waiting to be used, instead of a fresh crunchy amazing piece of chicken! Yep I was right, soggy chicken sandwich!!! I know it takes longer to cook the chicken to order, but IT IS REQUIRED to get that crunch carried into the finished product! Ordered it medium heat which was REALLY SUPER hot, but besides the heat, the hot sauce flavor just tasted like a bunch of dried HOT peppers thrown together with minimum effort to develop a sauce. No complexity of flavor like good quality hot sauce blends! The only reason I would give this place 1 star, was the side of fries. They were similar to local Rusty's potato wedges and Checkers batter coated fries, but with a strange sweetness to them! Seemed oddly sweet for a normally savory side dish, but at least they were edible! Sandwich after 3 bites went straight in the trash and even gave me a stomach ache for about 2 hours!
