I needed a quick place for lunch. While searching the app, I saw Zorba's in Oildale. This was close to my next errand, and thought I would give them a try. I asked the very pleasant server to recommend something. She suggested pastrami. I said, "I'm not really a pastrami person." She said, neither was she, but that it was good. "Ok, let's give it a go," I said. This is a friendly, neighborhood diner doing mostly drive-in orders. They have an outside seating area. The outside tables are close to the pickup window and I thought it might be a little smelly from the cars, but it was quite comfortable. The pastrami was really good. I haven't eaten a many places in Oildale, but of the places I have, I know this, you will never starve. The portions are "ample". A full plate of delicious fries, and soft drink was part of my combo. I can't wait to try one of their burgers. If you're in the North Chester area, you've got to try Zorba's. You will not be dissappointed. read more

Service was friendly. Food was so bland though! Maybe they had an off morning? I had ordered their egg and a patty plate with a side of sausage gravy. Eggs, bland. Meat patty, no flavor. How is it even possible for sausage gravy to be bland? Someone there figured that one out. Couldn't even finish the meal. Maybe lunch is more their forte. read more

There all meat breakfast burrito with no salsa add gravy is very very delicious, as well as there shakes. There ladies that work are very awesome and are very helpful with services. I have been to Zorbas so many times. I wish I had not. For the first time I got the shrimp. After eating one piece I was done. The shrimp had not been cleaned or deveined. I did not finish my meal. Thinking back, I thought of all the times I had eaten at Zorbas and I was saddened that they would lower their standards. I do not recommend Zorbas. read more

Weird! First time we ever came here, paid using debit, and the next morning there are two unauthorized charges on that same debit card for the "Bakersfield Fairgrounds"! Literally the only place we used our card that day. Don't know if it's just a weird coincidence or what but we will not be back because the food wasn't even that good. read more

LOVE Zorbas!!! HOWEVER, it's more expensive to order a combo than ordering separate items. They really need to fix this.

It's been years since I stopped at Zorba's Burgers in Oildale. I ordered my regular combination with fries and drink. They only offer Pepsi for the cola, so I opted for the Mug Root Beer. I like Coca Cola original, but they don't offer it. The burger is good, the fries are good too, a bit too salty, but favorable and it was still hot on a take out order. Other than that, the service was good. You can dine in if you want, order in and take out, and they have drive through window for orders too. I remember this place in the same location as A&W. Looking for a good old flat top greasy burger but found a lot of place were closed on a Sunday. I found Zorbas open and knew it been around for a long time. Settling for a charbroiled burger instead. I opted with the triple cheese burger. Ordered and my meal arrived promptly. I found that the burger patties are fairly thin but I'm glad I opted for a triple patty. The burger was dressed with a thousand island style sauce and the standard chopped lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. The tomatoes were not ripe enough with its yellowish hue coloring. The pickles were almost none existent. The burger was a stomach filler but not a star rated burger. Zorbas menu is huge and they offer a little of everything. The restaurant was clean and an employee was constantly cleaning up the dining room. Overall experience was decent but I'll definitely try something else next time. read more

I went there today and ordered their hamburger, which was on special two for 899 and they're small fry first. I would like to say that fries were excellent. They were big and thick about four McDonald's fries would make one of the Zaba fries. Maybe I'm overstating that but definitely they were two times the thickness of my McDonald's and most other Restaurants and as I said, they were delicious and hot. The hamburgers were also delicious. They weren't this puny little bun and PewDie puny piece of meat. It was thick piece of meat at least twice the thickness of a McDonald's burgers, which taste like cardboard. The lettuce was very good. There was tomatoes, which were cut thick unlike the tomatoes you get at your typical hamburger restaurant the meat was well cooked and tasty with American cheese, which is standard. I presume it was a large large bun at least half again at the size of your typical McDonald's burger. I would highly recommend this place. I've definitely will go there again and the service was great. read more

CUSTOMERS BEWARE, this used to be a great place eat if you sit and eat there because you can complain and have your wrong order redone. THIS IS NOT TRUE IF YOU HAPPEN TO GO THROUGH THE DRIVE-THRU. Hold up the line if you have to and CHECK you get what you ordered. This is what happened to me, I called them and the lady that answered talk to the manager about fixing my wrong order. Small Burger joint off of chester. Ive been working up nearby for nearly a year and half and never gave it a shot. Recently saw a review that mentioned they had gyros and decided to give it a shot as there are not much greek places up here. For a first time visit, i was actually surprised at how decent it was. good size, good flavor and they actually have lamb which is rare for some places. Definitely would get again. The wait in drive thru to order was ridic!! I mean we waited like 30+ minutes just to order. The food was ok. Nice big portions and tasty burgers, but not sure its worth that wait.....I had the zorbas bacon guacamole cheeseburger and was pleasantly surprised, but I did not like the sauce they used- the cumin? was very overpowering. I came mainly for the sampler and it was soggy by the time I got it. And their ranch was tasted watered down. I heard so much about Zorbas through coworkers that I decided to try it. I was told to try their Pastrami sandwich. I'm not a big pastrami fan but it was good. Meat was not dry but moist and it had good flavor. I added some mustard and had peppers to go with it. I actually enjoyed and will probably go back for seconds. What I didnt like was they charge a "convenience fee" of 3% if you use a credit card and since I didnt have cash, had to use my card. Next time I will make sure to have cash. read more

Very disappointed. Was looking forward to the beef quesadilla. When I pulled up to the window, I was charged $15 and change. Six dollars more than the $9.99 price on the menu. A complete scam to be charging people more than the posted price. When i questioned her, the girl kept saying we raised our price. Bullshit. They are committing fraud.
