I was staying next door and needed some caffeine to fuel (another) long travel day. Enter: one of my new favorite coffee shops ever! Buddy Brew is cute on many levels. Awesome location with outdoor seating, super kind staff, amazing cold brew, and the nicest vibes. They have a nice selection of sandwiches and coffee beverages, so if you're staying in the heart of downtown Sarasota, this is an excellent "grab coffee and bring it back to the hotel" kind of spot. I grabbed a cold brew with Oat milk and thoroughly enjoyed. Super reasonable prices to boot! I will be back if life every brings me back to Sarasota. Nice flavor great subway tile on the inside and natural wood. , I did not have any of the big goods, but they looked amazing. I got the oatmilk Cornado and the barista, Ariana, made my tire Xperience buddies at 12 out of a scale of one to 10. She knew how to make conversation was friendly, genuinely warm and open. When it comes to any kind of service when you have someone who knows how to deal with people, it makes a huge difference in the customers experience. I opted for a dirty chai since I had asked if they made their own chai and they DO! On the spicier side but very good and not too sweet! We stopped here maybe twice a day when we stayed at the art ovation and it was definitely a good way to start the day. Plenty of options but i couldn't stop getting lavender and white chocolate and my friend loved the brown sugar cinnamon. The baristas were super sweet and helped us with our drinks. Had to try at least one coffee shop while on my trip. This place was tucked a little back from the road so I actually missed it while driving. It had a huge patio with lots of seating. Came here years ago and it's still on point! Got the mocha and pumpkin spice lattes. Awesome coffee spot in downtown! I always swing by here when I visit Sarasota and it never disappoints. Baristas are always nice but most importantly coffee here is great. This time I went for a bolt lemonade, mix of their cold brew and lemonade. Controversial combination that I personally enjoy and think it's a perfect summer refresher. It's important not to overdo the lemonade part and I must say this drink is balanced very well, you do get pretty distinct cold brew taste that is complemented but not overpowered by lemonade flavor. Stopped in here on a weekday and was very pleasantly surprised. I had no idea that they actually have a handful of locations, which I definitely plan to try out closer to where I'm located. I got a latte and their Classic breakfast sandwich and it was all super fresh. It's kind of a rare for me to have a really fresh tasting latte, cappuccino, etc. So when I ordered from here I thought it was really delicious and authentic. They've got some cute merch to purchase as well; mugs, t-shirts, and of course small batch coffee. I gauged that it's a rather popular place actually, because when I was in there maybe a dozen other people stopped by as well. Buddy Brew Coffee is a classic and almost always a great stop for coffee, especially cold brew (queue the heavenly music). The best part of this downtown Sarasota location is for sure the workers. They are so cool and easy to chat with that the experience immediately becomes better and brighter. The coffee is consistently good but the service here keeps the pace. I would say a downside is this is a weird shop to get to. It is in downtown Sarasota which already has weird parking as most downtowns do. But Buddy Brew is tucked right under/ next to a parking garage where you can easily miss it if you aren't looking. So you can park in the garage, obviously, but depending how long you stay you may have to pay. They do also have wifi and a bathroom for customers! There's also hardly any seating because the location is so smushed, but there is a little more available right outside the shop. read more

Delicious I went twice in one day. I don't normally get cold brew but saw that it had positive reviews on Yelp. I got it with milk. It was so good! Later that day, it was hot out and I wanted another cold drink. I got an iced latte and it was also good. But I think they make my favorite cold brew! I found them on Yelp & I love trying new places so we stopped in. It was very quiet, but the people working were pleasant and greeted me as I walked in. It's bold flavor is very smooth and just what I love about a good cold brew. They also don't put a ton of ice which is nice so you get more beverage than ice. I tried their new wild berry scone too. In town for a wedding and decided to venture out downtown and find a local coffee shop to try. This is such a unique little coffee shop in downtown Sarasota! There is not much seating and it seems like more of a grab and go coffee shop. I tried the Iced Caramel Flat White with Cinnamon Cream. This drink is a double shot of espresso over ice with their house made caramel syrup and spiced Cinnamon half and half. The drink was so good and smooth. This is known as a barista favorite drink here and I now understand why. I highly recommend getting this drink when you are visiting downtown Sarasota. Dropped in for a quick coffee in the morning. I went with an iced latte with and Extra shot And I added Vanilla. It was perfect. Delicious robust coffee flavor mixed with the subtlety sweet Vanilla. I also got a breakfast Sandwich. It was really good. They make all their sandwiches in Tampa and send them over every few days. With that said the sandwich tasted super fresh and was delicious. Super nice staff. Following social distancing rules but didn't require masks (since the city government didn't require it.) the staff did wear masks at least...but many customers didn't. read more

If this isn't the coolest coffee shop on the block! We parked in the garage (first two hours are free) and took the stairs down and were intrigued by the smell of their roast. There was also a lined out the door which indicates to us coffee lovers, that this place must be good. We ordered two iced lattes (vanilla and hazelnut), and our friends ordered a hot cortado with oat milk. They said it was the best cortado they've had in a while, and they're straight from Spain! What a compliment to the shop. The artwork in the shop is very hipster and clean. The only thing I would complain about are the prices. All together, we spent about $35 for 4 drinks. Buddy Brew Coffee is tucked away on the lower level of the Sarasota City Parking Garage at N Palm Avenue and an alley that goes behind the Art Ovation Hotel. It isn't very visible from the street so you could easily miss it, but don't! Aside from having great coffee, the employees are always friendly and they have the best scone I've ever had! I've had both Buddy Brew's cold brew and their standard brewed coffee and both are really tasty. You know, like when you take a sip and you need to immediately say out loud to yourself, "Wow, this is really good." This Buddy Brew location is small but they have several bistro tables with umbrellas on the sidewalk for those who want to sit and savor their coffee. There is definitely a lot to like about Buddy Brew Coffee, and really only one negative that ended up taking away a star. I have visited this coffee shop a few times, and I'll definitely be back (although there's one drink I would not order again - keep reading). This Buddy Brew is located in a parking garage in downtown Sarasota. Fear not though, it's actually got a super nice ambiance. They have a TON of outdoor seating, some on the street. Even when it's really hot, there is a nice breeze and a ton of shade. There's a small indoor area for ordering...they have a bit of space to drink your coffee inside, but the outside is usually nicer. They have a ton of drinks, from pour-overs to espresso to tea and matcha. I really like their coffee drinks a lot (the iced latte with oat milk is a yummy way to cool down). They roast great beans too so their pour-overs are also pretty tasty. The one drink I do not recommend is the matcha latte...mine still had huge chunks of undissolved matcha floating around in it, meaning it was not very good at all. In fact, it's one of the worst matcha lattes I have ever had, and I took off a star for that. Otherwise, I am super impressed with this coffee shop, from their service (fast and friendly) to their selection and quality to their seating.
