Love Kahwa coffee and go out of my way to go there every time I'm in town. Excellent coffee, friendly service and a good value.

Wow! This place was empty on Sunday morning so we stopped to have a cup of coffee and plan a three day getaway. We asked Siri to answer a question about out trip and the owner--obviously not from Florida came over rudely and informed us of their "no speaker phone" policy. The place was totally empty. Our phone was turned down. Her attitude sucked and so does this place. There are plenty of other places where we can go and over priced coffee where they appreciate our business. No wonder this place is empty. Won't be back. Ever. read more

I thought it was terrible coffee. The decaf in particular. I gave it multiple tries and ground the whole beans myself with a high-end grinder and still got flavorless almost burnt tasting type of liquid that I couldn't even call coffee. I had to throw it out, it was that bad. The customer service lacked a lot as well. It sounded like a great coffee with the packaging and idea behind it but was very disappointing. read more

I stopped by this café on a quiet Sunday afternoon. With fewer customers at that time of day, the service was prompt, and the barista did a fantastic job. My beverage of choice was a cappuccino, which was made perfectly with the right balance of espresso and milk. I was thoroughly impressed--the Kahwa brand coffee beans provided a rich espresso flavor that paired beautifully with the milk and nicely textured foam. Nice job! On a business note, most Kahwa stores are company-owned. However, this is one of the few recently taken over by a franchisee. Worth a visit in the Lakewood Ranch area --enjoy! read more

Not a good day at this coffee shop. Mocha we're not prepared with a nice pleasant flavor, and we're extremely hot. No napkins were available to the customers so you had to ask for them . There was not a welcome feeling from the staff and they did not really engage the customers inside the store. read more

We went through the drive thru on a little road trip after the beach and this was the perfect stop. The coffee was good and their seasonal latte, the Aloha Latte, was really good and not too sweet. My husband loved the cold brew and we both loved the cold foam and the service, the staff were really sweet. I'm sure it's adorable inside, but we just loved the drive thru option! read more

This is our second time coming to this location and sadly, our last. Both times the baristas were not only not friendly but down right rude. This time the girl was very condescending and seemed vindictive. We will not be back. Kahwa was a decently cute little cafe. They have a drive through, and it was pretty fast inside as well. The coffee was just okay by our measure, nothing dramatically better than Starbucks for their cappuccino, but they had some fun and tasty cold brew and cold foams. read more

Had a nice, quick visit at this Kahwa Coffee. My family wanted some caffeine and treats and Kahwa happens to be very close to our hotel. Plenty of parking. Ample indoor seating and limited outdoor seating. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had a few questions about the pastries and they were happy to answer. I ordered an iced honey cinnamon honey oat milk latte and key lime pound cake. I always order a honey cinnamon oat milk latte everywhere I go, if they can make it so I've become a bit picky. I want it to be sweet enough to taste the honey without it being overwhelming. I really liked Kahwa's. It had a perfect ratio of honey and cinnamon. The key lime cake was divine! Satisfied my sweet tooth. The rest of my fam enjoyed their drinks and treats, too. read more

After great CAREFUL thought I am writing this hoping management will wake up and create better customer friendly policies and better train their staff. I have been a very loyal customer first at their recently closed shop at University Town Center Mall and starting 3 months ago at this DRIVE UP facility right near the Mall, coming 4X a week around noon each time. About 3-4 weeks ago I asked the cashier in the window if I could drive up before their 6:30 pm closing for a refill of my noon cup. They said yes, so I have done this about 7-8 times in the last 3-4 weeks each time paying the 50 cents for the refill. Then this past week I asked," if I got a large iced coffee at noon could I get a cheaper large hot coffee at 6 pm instead". The answer was yes. Tonight, less than a week later I was told in an aloof, slightly reprimanding tone," we can not give you a refill which is technically just only meant for our customers who walk into the cafe". She said two more quick statements in a somewhat curt tone basically reiterating new policies. We are talking about coffee in the last 15 minutes before closing which would have been dumped into the sink, AND which cost an additional 50 cents ( a rare place that refuses free refills... of coffee). Her tone and attitude made everything 100 % more insulting. Panera, hate chains, offers unlimited coffee for $9 a month, and for all of April a free bagel everyday. They are also one mile away/ across the road from the Mall. Their pastry is surprisingly excellent. Kahwa's coffee IS delicious but not worth the rude delivery and non-sensical rule of not allowing DRIVE up customers a refill ... 15 minutes before closing. read more

The coffee is good, but if you're looking for a cold, sweet foo foo drink the cafe mocha wasn't all that sweet, even after adding additional sugar. The chatty Cathy's behind the bar were very nice, but unreasonably loud. Sweeten the drinks and tone down the chit-chat and this place would be great. Maybe ask for extra sugar and earplugs, or a muzzle as a gift? read more

Was looking for a quick breakfast spot this morning and didn't want to stop by a commercial coffee shop. We were in the area and I came upon place. The name sounded appealing and we were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. Great vibe and lots of great choices. They offered several options of non-dairy milks (soy, almond, coconut and oat for .35) and lots of creative seasonal drinks. I decided on the Aloha Latte substituting Soy Milk. It's sweetened with Macadamia and Coconut Syrup. The coffee sure hit the spot! We also grabbed some of the vegan treats. There was a chocolate chip banana nut muffin, some vegan cookies (red velvet and chocolate chip) and also a morning bar (mostly vegan but sweetened with honey). So we grabbed a WeVeganEats Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Cookie and a muffin; both of which were fantastic. The service was also very friendly and they even had Stevia as a sweetener option. I went through the drive thru yesterday for the first time to grab a coffee. They were really quick, the coffee was good and they offered many flavors, including sugar free (which is important to us low-carbers or to people watching their sugar intake). I do wish they had a few more sugar free flavor choices. I had a good experience. I'll go back sometime! read more

Due to a crazy long line at Starbucks I decided to try this coffee joint. I've never been to Kahwa before seeing it at the location at UTC. During my visit the staff was really friendly and the barista made an exceptional latte. Anytime I go to UTC in the future this will be my place to grab my coffee. I visited Kahwa Coffee while visiting my family in Sarasota. I am always on the hunt for a new local coffee shop to check out in my travels and Kahwa was close enough to where I was staying to give it a try. Kahwa appears to be a small local coffee shop chain but was about average in coffee taste. The customer service was great and workers were friendly but coffee lacked depth and options. The espresso was ok but not strong enough and there was lack of variety with the syrup flavors. It was a nice way to support local versus going to the chain shops on University but in this case, I'd stick with the chains unless the line is too long. read more

This is my favorite coffee shop in Bradenton! I visit Bradenton occasionally and always go to Kahwa if I have time or need to do some studying. I've visited both the Sarasota and Bradenton location. It's a nice place to study because it's not usually that packed and the WiFi is pretty fast. Although if you do study here, try to sit towards the front of the store because the back of the store tends to get a little warm. My favorite drink is the hot vanilla latte with soy milk (I can't consume dairy) and it is basic but delicious every time. If you get a coffee they let you put in your own milk which is very nice. The staff is also super friendly, and they sell Simply Straws! read more

Coffee is fantastic I love the staff they are very friendly and are very knowledgeable about the products they serve. The manager is amazing and is the heartbeat of the store; however, I have noticed that there is a new higher manager and I am not a fan with how he he speaks to her as I was sitting near them and overheard everything.
