I was looking for a private experience for our family of 3 that doesn't involve a lot of crowds and where my daughter could have private time with animals and this place was perfect! The owners David and Tina were very welcoming, friendly, and very open to educating us about their farm, the lovely alpacas, their cats, and the super cute guard dog, Bodhi. During the private experience, we interacted with the alpacas and fed them their breakfast, our session was at 10am. We really enjoyed the stories the owners told us about the alpacas and the farm. I really loved the experience as it was just for our group and we throughly enjoyed it, I didn't have to worry about crowds and I wasn't rushed. The staff is always on their game, and they always have a smile on their faces. The quality of their products are always top notch. Best part....it is affordable compared to most family activities. If the opportunity presents itself to either visit Decimal Place Farm on an organized tour and/or to eat their various cheeses such as chevre and feta, go for it. It's amazing to think about how this goat farm is just outside the perimeter and in close proximity to the airport, as evidenced by the numerous jets zooming by overhead. Farmer Mary is passionate about her gang of genial goats and the delightful cheeses that they produce at this family-owned establishment. Plus she's a super nice lady in general and happy to talk about farming, cheesemaking, and nature. You can't just drive up to the farm and buy cheese, but they're sold at markets such as the Freedom Farmers Market and are a favorite of many chefs at popular Atlanta restaurants. Debbi and Hank Merrill operate a small alpaca farm and love visitors. The alpacas, while not…read morevisibly scared of people, are not eager to be touched and are far less welcoming than Debbi and Hank. Debbi is an open, warm and informed host who gladly answers questions about her alpaca family, which she is passionate about. Although I did not have an appointment, which is advisable, and called from the farm's driveway, Debbi kindly drove over from her nearby home and spent an hour with me chitchatting about all things alpaca. For you alpaca enthusiasts, the Merrills also operate a small gift shop with items incorporating alpaca fleece, including yarn from their own animals (how often do you get to meet and learn the name and story of the creature whose body produced the material for the socks you are about to knit?), hats, sweaters, socks and stuffed animals. If it can be made with alpaca fleece or has a picture of an alpaca on it, Debbi probably has it in stock. If you thrill to the idea of hearing alpacas hum in close proximity, stop by and check out the alpacas and kitties and ducks and geese. Debbi and Hank will doubtless put out their welcome mat.

They sold fresh vegetables and fruit, jams, sweet and salted pecans. They had a little gift shop.
