I was looking for a private experience for our family of 3 that doesn't involve a lot of crowds and where my daughter could have private time with animals and this place was perfect! I booked our experience directly through the website: (when you book, I advice you to do it as well to avoid additional fees) https://lostmountainalpacaranch.com/ I booked the 60 minute experience for our family and we were in for such a treat. The owners David and Tina were very welcoming, friendly, and very open to educating us about their farm, the lovely alpacas, their cats, and the super cute guard dog, Bodhi. During the private experience, we interacted with the alpacas and fed them their breakfast, our session was at 10am. We really enjoyed the stories the owners told us about the alpacas and the farm. I really loved the experience as it was just for our group and we throughly enjoyed it, I didn't have to worry about crowds and I wasn't rushed. Can't wait to see the alpacas again the next time we are in the area.

The alpacas, while not…read morevisibly scared of people, are not eager to be touched and are far less welcoming than Debbi and Hank. Debbi is an open, warm and informed host who gladly answers questions about her alpaca family, which she is passionate about. Although I did not have an appointment, which is advisable, and called from the farm's driveway, Debbi kindly drove over from her nearby home and spent an hour with me chitchatting about all things alpaca. For you alpaca enthusiasts, the Merrills also operate a small gift shop with items incorporating alpaca fleece, including yarn from their own animals (how often do you get to meet and learn the name and story of the creature whose body produced the material for the socks you are about to knit?), hats, sweaters, socks and stuffed animals. If it can be made with alpaca fleece or has a picture of an alpaca on it, Debbi probably has it in stock. If you thrill to the idea of hearing alpacas hum in close proximity, stop by and check out the alpacas and kitties and ducks and geese. Debbi and Hank will doubtless put out their welcome mat.

Pulling into Buddy's Alpaca Farm you are met by the owners and the beautiful herd dog. As you exchange pleasantries, you are taking in the ambiance of the farm as a whole. The beautiful greenery sets the tone as you are prepped to start your walk through. Buddy's Alpaca Farm is a family owned farm that provides an intimate experience. You have the chance to not only meet the Alpacas but you get to understand 1. Their value as an animal, 2. The many ways they enhance our everyday lives in ways you may have never known, and 3. You get the chance to observe them as they engage with you and eat out your hand. As we continued on the journey we got to the table and were introduced to the Alpaca poop!!! Yes, I said poop. LoL!! However, I won't spoil the surprise or educational experience, yet what I will say is; we left with 3 cups of "gifts" covered in poop and even purchased a container of poop for household use... Oh yes, this is multi-purpose poop. LoL!! I absolutely enjoyed my time at Buddy's Alpaca Farm. It was a fun day for one of our clients and they had an absolute blast! On a scale of 1 to 10, this experience was an absolute 10 and is one I would recommend for anyone who enjoys family focused, family owned, animal focused FUN!!!! Thank you Buddy's Alpaca Farm for an amazing Sunday Funday experience.

Get there and was greeted by Miss Jesse She is the perfect picture of southern hospitality and genuine southern charm, a real champ and blessing to have met. She let me ride her horse ~ "Faith" she was a sweetheart They have 7 horses to choose from based on your style of ride. The Farm Owner is so cool, just a perfect gentleman and loving guy ~ Harold, who came along for the ride and showed me his place. 175 acres of Tennessee's finest land tucked away in the back mountains with Black Angus grazing the land, oh and one special brown Jersey named "Amy" Breath taking views, 2 ponds with a really cool tree forest next to them. I got the blessing of having both Jess and Harold to guide me giving me the lay out of the land. Horses were great, beautiful animals because of course Jesse takes care of them like their her babies They do events there too - weddings, church services, family gatherings due to the beauty of the place. I recommend this place and will go back. There's nothing like being around folks who you feel like you've known for years - that's Jesse and Harold Lastly, the charge was $30 bucks for an hour which beats all of the rest big time and Jesse went over the time too on the trail ride. If and when you go please be sure to give a good tip because they deserve it. Cary
