We are new to the area, and discovered this gem of a place. We have been to several holiday events here, and they were all wonderful. They do everything with excellence here. The staff is always on their game, and they always have a smile on their faces. The quality of their products are always top notch. Best part....it is affordable compared to most family activities. Overall this is a beautiful place and fantastic idea! Laid back and the kids (11 and 8 years old) loved it! They played for an hour at Tiny Town, almost that long in the Corn Hole, caught a fish in the lake, paddled in the paddle boats, slid down the Hill Slides, road the carousel, and shot arrows into targets. We went on an event day (fireworks, etc.). They have limited event days per year, the rest of the time you can go to get fresh veggies and pick your own. Admission is $10 per person on event days. 4 stars because: 1) The pony rides, while free, are limited to kids under 48 inches in height. They had some large ponies as well as small, so it seemed a little overly restrictive, but I am OK with the obvious care for the animals' health. My complaint is that we should have been made aware of this either on the website or on the welcome pamphlet, before the kids got so excited. 2) The pedal tractors require that folks have closed toe shoes, no sandals or flip flops, so dress accordingly. We didn't know ahead of time what to expect so naturally the kids had sandals on and couldn't ride, so that is another piece of information that should be on their website. 3) The food and drinks are quite expensive, the $8.75 Chik-fil-A meal gives you a basic sandwich and a bag of chips. We paid $6.00 apiece for souvenir cups that had unlimited refills, so that cut down on the overall drink expensive somewhat. An ear of corn is $3, funnel cakes that I saw were $12 and $7, depending on toppings. Rock Ranch would do better to lower the food prices in order to promote the family outing idea and increase the overall fun of the park, in my opinion. I expect Six Flags to be outrageous, but the Ranch is based on family farm and rural ideals and should be priced more reasonably. Be prepared to do a LOT of walking, everything is spread out, probably deliberately to promote the healthy family idea of the park. Its beautiful though, and you will not really mind the walking too much. The park closed early because of bad storms, and they gave us all a free ticket for the Fall events, so cannot complain there. The staff worked very hard to make sure everyone was safe as possible and deserve a big thank you for their efforts. We WILL go back! read more

I visited the Rock Ranch yesterday with my 2 year old and 4.5 year old. After attending the Hot Air Balloon Festival at Callaway Gardens this year, we figured it would be fun to see the Hot Air Balloon Rally at the RR. We arrived at 1 PM. It was busy, and folks were confused about the ticketing/entrance process. Many asked if there were maps available, to which the response was, "I'm sorry... we've run out." This would be a running theme to the day. We made our way in via tractor ride, and already to the delight of my kids, a balloon was inflated. We decided to skip the long train ride line, and headed into the corn maze. In my opinion, there needs to be more directional clues for those who want to get out (lots of fighting spouses, and tired kids.) We had a good time and finally made our way out. Next, we headed to the concession stand next to the maze. I purchased drinks for my kids and asked for a straw. The woman states, "We've had straws every weeks, but we haven't had any today..." This was around 2 PM. I guess the floating food staff person hasn't been by to visit and bring you what you need? They opened at 10 AM. We visited the tiny town, a bounce house, the slides, etc. My kids loved that. My son indicated that he wanted some popcorn, so we headed to the popcorn stand near the pool area. I asked for the "kid" drink they offered in various flavors, and was met with, "I'm sorry... we've run out of all of them. But you can try the large stand behind you. They have them." So off we went to wait in line for 10 minutes to be met with the following: "I'm sorry... we've run out." I asked for a sweet tea... with a lid. "I'm sorry... we've run out of lids... oh wait! Here's a loose one (from who knows where.)" So we decided to set up our picnic blankets for the Balloon Glow. My kids love a balloon glow! Too bad it was really short! We were really spoiled by Callaway Gardens. Yes there were less balloons at the Rock Ranch (there's also less room). My kids still love watching any amount of balloons light up. The problem was that they did about 4 or 5 light up countdowns and then called it a night. I was hoping for at least 10 minutes of magical light- we all waited for it! Moral of the story: If they are going to advertise "agritourism" (it's all over the signs on the way), then they need to learn how to operate a guest based service. I was just surprised at the issues with stock and operations when they have such a wealth of information and expertise at their fingertips (Chick-fil-a.) The employees kept saying, "My pleasure..." after sending me on my way. I would think it would be their pleasure to call a manager (or the floating employee) to get on one of the many tractors available, go to the warehouse, get the needed supplies and deliver them to all of the areas. Went with my 4 year old daughter today for the Halloween Festival. We both LOVED it. So much for my daughter to do, I was so happy to see her enjoying so many varied activities. We could have stayed there all night and not run out of things to do. The property is beautiful and just sitting in the grass and admiring the gorgeous surroundings is a treat. read more

They have a very neat display of Christmas lights for free. They only ask for donations. You can go through it multiple times. They have different events at different times of the year, such as mazes, hot air balloons, zip lining and a train. read more

On a normal day the rock ranch is pretty cool. My daughters have had two field trips there each, and they loved it. Now let's talk about the Christmas lights. Last night we drove an hour to go see them and let's just say we would have come out better driving around our neighborhoods like usual. The lights were tacky there looked to be minimal effort put into the decor. There was no wow factor they only had lights lining the trees and some of the fences. A few little figures out and about.... We were so disappointed. Maybe next year they will be better but this yr was a big flop. read more

Super fun for kids! I took my 6 year old granddaughter and she had a wonderful time exploring all the activities and rides here. Everything from a gigantic bouncing pillow to an adorable Tiny Town full of kid sized "businesses" to play in to a fun train ride and lots and lots in between keeps parents and kids busy enjoying each others company and sharing the joy of life! Pony rides and petting zoo, zip lines and paddle boats - something for everyone. Highly recommend. read more

Our 2nd Grade students had a field trip today...along with 400 other children from other schools. The staff had events so well-coordinated that no one had to wait at the different stations or even when it was lunchtime. Staff also made sure that coolers, boxes of lunches, and everything we brought was where we needed it and brought back to the bus. Will definitely be going back with family! read more

Went to see the drive thru lights on a sunday night. It was alright, my daughter loved the waving figures and pretty lights. There were others out driving as well. I'd say that overall It was a good experience. Some of the decorations like the blow up snowman and disney characters had fallen down. =/ I'd love to come back here during an event in the daylight. read more

Spent three days this past long weekend at the accommodations at the Rock Ranch. We rented all 5 units for a family wedding at the venue next door and had 36 guests staying there for Thursday, Friday & Saturday of the wedding weekend. Fantastic decor and comfortable arrangements at all of them. The staff was great from making the reservations to being there for us through our stay. This place is fun for children of all ages. We took our entire kindergarten grade level. There are two zip lines, a huge lake, a tiny town for kids, a jumping pillow and more. The best part was the fruit field where you can pick your own fruit! They also have some educational centers where the kids learn about pollination and organic composting. Its owned by chikfila but there were no products served while we were there. The food wasn't too hot but you can bring your own if you want. Overall the place was AWESOME! read more

This past weekend, Cub Scouts from Spartanburg SC went to The Rock Ranch for a fall camping trip. I can't say enough about how well organized they are!! We reserved three of the conestoga covered wagons for our group to sleep in. We also opted for the hot dog dinner provided by The Rock Ranch for a small additional fee. It was amazing watching the Scouts and their families have the best time at all the attractions available at the park side. Because of their organization, the camping side was even better! I give them 5 stars and will definitely keep them in the annual rotation of camping events for my Scouts! Thank you The Rock Ranch for the amazing experience!! read more

Christmas at the Rock Ranch. Having been to Stone Mountain last year (SO many people you really couldn't see or do much) and Callaway Gardens Fantasy in lights the year before $25 a person to drive your car through half working lights (really disappointing) which only takes 20 minutes, I was looking for something that didn't take so much time to drive through. This was it. Cost is reasonable. Food is good, The Santa was fabulous, free, didn't take 2 minutes in line to see and take as many pictures as you like. Lot's of Fireplaces, Fun little train ride, Fun little ride in a hay trailer trolley through the lights to the "barn". Wasn't 5 stars but the grand kids loved it and i would certainly go back. If you choose to do Santa's workshop, KNOW that you don't buy tickets for adults. That costs me about $50 I didn't need to spend. For kids, $12 gets you a painted face, an ornament and a cookie (mmm?, not a great value but fun).Walk all the way around the barn, there is a Cow bouncy house in the back of it and we didn't realize it until we needed to go to the train. If it is cold that night, Dress warm, you will be Miserable otherwise, you are outside alot. read more

The Rock Ranch is well worth the trip once a year. Fall Family Fun Days keep the kiddos entertained and outdoors enjoying the cooler fall weather. Personal favorites are the Corn House, Tiny Town, and the Cow Train. Really surprised that they don't serve Chick-Fil-A sandwiches. The fare they do sell is overpriced and tasteless - but you don't really go for the food. All things considered, a great family outing! read more

We went down here for the Christmas lights..... I felt ripped off honestly. It should have been half the price it was.

In October of 2010 my grandson and I spend the day at the Rock Ranch and had a great experience. Over the next year I told many how great the Rock Ranch was. Great attitudes from employees, not standing in line for exceptionally long time, how clean every thing was and so on. My grandson and I enjoyed it so much in 2010 we went back October 8, 2011 even thaw we had a nice time was not as enjoyable as the year before. About 2 PM my grandson and I went to get a snow cone and ice cream. So on the way over to the store we stopped used the restroom and washed our hands. Both paper towel dispensers where out of towels. All so the sinks and sink area needed attention. I saw a Rock Ranch employee on our way to the store and informed her of the condition of the restroom and need to put some paper towels in the dispensers. My grandson and I went to get a snow cone and ice cream and the area for getting the syrup for the snow cone could have used some cleaning. So we went out and sat at one of the two tables on the side of the store and the table was out right nasty to the point we could not use it. Thank goodness at least the chairs where clean. We sat there and finished our snow cone and ice cream. Standing in line to get the two and sitting and enjoying it most have been at least 30 to 45 minutes or more. When we got done of coarse a 6 year old eating a snow cone needs to wash his hands. So we went back to the same restroom which the only have two on the grounds and guess what it was still need of some cleaning and paper towels! So once again on the way out I saw a Rock Ranch employee and told her about the problems in the restroom. I was TOTALLY disturbed that she could not even speak English and understand what I was saying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With all the American citizens needing a job they hire a person that's citizenship is in question and cannot even understand what I was saying!!!!!!!! Have to wonder if she was even here legally! Even thaw many of the employees where very nice many did not give off good vibes like the year before from buying tickets to leaving to go home on the trailer pulled by the tractor back to the parking lot. The lines where ridicules and wait time too long. I quite going other places because after paying to spend more time in line then enjoying our self. I talked to others while at the Rock Ranch today and they had many of the same concerns as I. I might give the Rock Ranch one more try and if things have not improved it will be my last time. I all so will inform those I told how nice it was the year before my experience this year. I am sure there will be many that have the same feelings as I about employees that cannot ever speak English. read more
