I feel like I am at a different spot than the other reviews. Healing comes when you put in the work and trust the process. A positive attitude goes a long way! I really enjoy the staff, Jim is an excellent therapist and his gym is my favorite in town. Its kept clean and well maintained. They have all the equipment you need to get or stay fit. The staff in the gym is friendly and helpful. I just wish the pool was bigger so I could swim laps. Those reviews are really old, give this place a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I was referred to Red Bluff PT by Greenville Rancheria for neck and shoulder pain. When I went…read morethere in December 2019 I was seen by a male therapist who seemed to be the only one working that day. As soon as I got into the treatment room, he asked me what was bothering me the most. He then asked me a few other basic questions like how long have I had the pain, etc. I was sitting in a chair in the room, not on the table. Without saying a word about what was going to happen next, he approached me, put his hands on my right shoulder and began to massage it. While he was massaging it, he started a one way conversation about the all the problems with the healthcare system in this country. I thought he was only going to talk about this for a few minutes but continued to talk for about 30 minutes straight. This was very unprofessional behavior. I might have a conversation like this with someone I know or had seen before, but definitely not at a first PT visit and not in a situation where I am forced to be the captive audience. I was really shocked that he actually thought this was an ok thing to do. Can you imagine a medical doctor doing this? I seriously doubt that ever happens. Anyway, after the shoulder massage, he told me he was leaving the room and an assistant would be coming in to do a treatment of ultrasound and TENS. I have had a lot of experience with TENS units and none of them have made any difference in my pain levels but again because this was a first visit I thought they would have a better machine than what I had so I figured it wouldn't hurt to try it. Unfortunately neither the ultrasound nor the TENS treatment did anything to improve my pain. The last treatment was having me lie on the table with a heating pad under my back and shoulders or 15 minutes. Once the 15 minutes was up, I was told the appointment was over. . I never saw the male therapist after the initial 30 minute shoulder massage. I was very disappointed with the whole experience. Thinking the second visit would be different I went back a few days later. Unfortunately I was wrong. The entire second appointment was a repeat of the first without the shoulder massage by the male therapist. I received the ultrasound, the TENS treatment, and the heating pad treatment and was out of there in about 30 minutes. I really could not believe how bad this "physical therapy" was. I mean, I have a heating pad at home and my own TENS unit and I told them that thinking they would do something different. I guess they have a standard routine they do with everyone who has neck and shoulder pain. Needless to say, I did not return for a third visit. The fact that the therapist did what he did tells me he actually thought it was ok. What are they teaching in PT school these days? It is precisely these kinds of bad experiences that discourage people from getting the help they really need. It was a waste of time and even worse it was a waste of money paid to that provider by Medicare. No wonder the system has problems and he is contributing to those problems. Isn't that funny? The good news is though that recently I went to another PT facility in Red Bluff which was much better! At my first visit, this therapist had me do some specific movements so he could evaluate my range of motion. We then talked about my history and issues in depth. Finally, he gave me a personalized treatment plan. My advice is if you do choose to try out Red Bluff Physical Therapy - ask to be seen by the owner. That way for sure you won't get the therapist I had. I really don't know how these people stay in business when there are other better providers very close by.

But I'm realistic, so "less" rolls and flab would be fine by me. Totally reasonable, right? I also wanted to start eating better, just little steps toward being physically awesome and yummy or whatever. But more than all that is my energy level. [at the time of this writing] I'm 42, and I have noticed how much more energy it takes to get out of bed, do my husband/parenting/work thing and generally take on the day. It's been 2 months since I started seeing Ashley, and I'm not going to say this has been easy. Hell, anyone that has thought of or even gone so far as buying a gym membership will tell you it's not easy, even to show up. And I'm not going to tell you that Ashley has made this whole thing all puppies and rainbows. She pushes me, and she will push you. Because that's what I need, and that's what you need. She is professional and kind and personable. She knows her stuff and will share her knowledge with you. She will track your progress and make you a little better, each and every time. She will check in with you, challenge you, encourage you, even when you are not in her presence (she has been known to text me with workout challenges now and then). You will do your body and mind a favor by working with Ashley. She will help you be who you want to be. Give her a try, you won't regret it!

She set me up with a meal plan that fit my eating habits and taught me how to monitor and count my macros. I've been able to stay disciplined with my diet and managed to stick with my workout program as well. The first week she worked with me each day to teach me proper form and how to complete a set of reps for my routine. After she and I both felt comfortable enough to let me work through my program solo, I continued on my path to a better me each week. If I had any questions, she was one phone call away. If there was something I wanted to incorporate into my diet that wasn't already listed, she made sure to do so. I've worked with a lot of trainers and programs and hands down, this is the best I've ever felt. Thank you Ashley!
