I thought rolling Hills was a very good value, $60 with cart. Fairways were immaculate. The greens…read morewere 90% good, a couple of patches. It is a link style without the ocean so there's no trees. We got lucky with a relatively cool, relatively wind free day. It's definitely target golf. On many holes you don't use driver, but it is a relatively short course. Afterwards we went to rock and brew where they had $3 20 oz beers and $10 pound of wings, also good value. The service was outstanding!! The casino was small but nice. Downside it's an hour and 45 minute drive from Sacramento.

We waited almost 10 minutes for somebody to come up. They did not tell us where to go. They did not help us out. We got up to the shack, we went past the shack. The guy was a real asshole started saying shit about my wife's driving even if she had a drivers license. That was the first clue that we probably should've just turned around $300 for four of us and we got treated like shit we got to the fourth hole and we weren't going fast enough for the people behind us, which we were on time within three minutes after them, making us late at the clubhouse three of us was in the green. One of us was in the sandpit and she was getting her ball and the guy from up above which was Brad's student hits a ball in about hits my friend wife in the head within 5 feet we did not say anything, but we just kept on going. We got the whole six and then the Ranger came around Brad and was real asshole and told us we needed to speed it up and we let him know that we weren't that far behind and then the people behind us cause they were the ones complaining which we didn't know that they were friends at that time then I let him know that people behind us hit the ball and almost hit somebody and he started making excuses for I did say I was gonna stick the golf ball up the guy's ass. If he hit somebody, he did not like that. He took that as a threat, but hitting some way with the golf balls a threat too he favoritism his student they ruined the game for us and we got threatened to get kicked out then we hit the guard shack again and the guy tells us it's illegal to play six people in the game that we get kicked out. We knew the people in front of us, but they were not playing with us. We caught up to them one time and we talked to him for a few minutes and that was it because they were waiting for the people in front of them because they were going extremely slow. These guys need to do better like I said they ruined a game that we were having fun at over Brad the Ranger and he is a instructor there too. I hope Rolling Hills sees us and does something because when we talk to the people down below, they said he's an issue, especially the ones that clean the carts they do not like him

Had a line of 3-4 people waiting to pay in front of us then my group of 5 to pay, when another group of 4 came in and the guy behind the counter decided to stop helping the people in line and help out the group that came in behind everyone. Once we finally got help from the guy behind the counter he would not let our group of 5 play together and split us into a 3 group and made 2 of us wait when our group of 5 could play faster than the group of 4 slow players in front of us. After we got done with hole 2 we shifted and played as a group of 5. My group seen and talked to the warden 3 different times why we played our game, he watched all 5 of us tee off and never said a thing. The warden on the course is chill but the guy working behind the counter has a power trip problem. After having that experience it make it harder to want to go back after that experience when there are so many other good courses to play around here that are not going to bitch about a group of 5 playing together. I played a group of 6 yesterday at Allen's Golf Course and they had no issues.

If you play early in the morning expect to not get as much distance as you would normally get. They have to water a lot in the morning because of the valley heat. If you play later in the day your golf ball will get more roll but you will sweat more too. The staff are friendly and they are doing a great job maintaining the course. I feel Grape Ranch Golf Club is a worthy test of your golfing skills! Give it a try!

I had a WONDERFUL time with my classmates for our 10 year high school reunion at Canyon Oaks…read moreCountry Club. The venue and grounds are well-maintained and beautiful. The staff was courteous and friendly. The food was delicious and SUBSTANTIALLY better than my wedding food at Butte Creek Country Club. The price was moderate, but not overly expensive. It was a very good experience overall. The inside venue space is a bit small for larger gatherings, our group of about 40 fit with extra space. It seems like any more than 70 would be cramped, though I believe they say it fits over 100 easily. The course is stunning, especially at sunset. The rooms were all clean and updated. The staff was kind and helpful. One issue I had was that the events coordinator was not onsite nor was she in communication with me AT ALL the day of the event. I was really surprised to hear that she'd been out golfing earlier in the day as if my event was pretty meaningless to her. Thankfully, the rest of the staff went above and beyond my expectations. A sweet lady even assisted me bringing in all of my boxes of decor and reunion supplies. The food was outstanding, plentiful, and everything I'd hoped for. Some guests said it was a little salty, but I love salt, so I didn't mind one bit. The food is a bit spendy, but it's served at a country club price, so the cost shouldn't surprise anyone. The meal was served by attentive waitstaff. When the kitchen forgot our few veggie dishes, they were quick to make them right away to remedy the issue. The bartender was excellent. He took orders quickly, made excellent drinks, and was friendly. I do wish there were better or different beers on tap. They carry the Sierra Nevada standards, but other than that, the selection is pretty minimal. Other than the few little things I'd have changed, I experience was pretty close to perfect. I'd recommend Canyon Oaks Country club for small to medium events any time. If you're trying to pick between Canyon Oaks and Butte Creek Country Clubs, I'd have to pick Canyon Oaks having had important events at both. Thanks for the wonderful venue, excellent food, and super great time, Canyon Oaks!
