I rented a car over the Christmas holiday from this establishment. I paid the bill in full when I rented the vehicle. Before I turned in the vehicle I filled up the tank at the Marathon down the road from the airport. When I got my credit card bill I saw an $18.85 charge from Budget on the bill. I called Budget to inquire about the charge and was advised that fill up charge. I advised the representative that the car was full when I returned it and she immediately stated the charge would be removed without any hesitation. My sister warned me to look for this charge on my credit card. I wonder how many people don't recognize this charge and Budget gets away with overcharging people for gas. Had to rent a car after my sister's funeral to get back to PVD and rented one from this Budget. The lady at the desk was nice but very unprofessional. On her cellphone with someone the whole time she was checking us in. She told us there was a crack in the windshield that was barely noticeable and was already in their records so we wouldn't be charged for it. My wife and I go out to inspect the car and find that the "crack" is mor like a baseball hit the window so I took a picture. The inside was absolutely disgusting, I mean it was filthy and it smelled awful. There were kids toys, a cup holder from a car seat and even silverware strewn about. We took pictures and I go back to tell the lady, who says there are no other cars and I need to take this one but she wrote everything in on my account and told me that she was unhappy about the car not being clean and that I wouldn't be charged. But was too busy eating to come out and look at the damages. Whatever we take the car to get home from work and arrive in PVD. When we drop the car off we tell the worker everything and we were, again, assured it's in the system and wouldn't get charged. Fast forward to almost a month later, the week before thanksgiving. I received a letter from Budget stating that I was going to be charged $584.00 for the broken windshield. I called them immediately and was told they were able to reverse the charge. Two days after that the money is taken out of my account. $584.00. A week before Thanksgiving. So now we're scrambling trying to figure out how we're going to pay our bills, as well as Thanksgiving dinner because of Budget. I took the liberty to attach the not noticeable "crack" as well as what the gentleman in PVD wrote on the windshield. Thanks guys, I'll never rent from you again and I will be telling all of my family and friends. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service - manager was rude - phone doesn't work and she laughed that I had to drive out to airport for no reason I had a Budget rental car that I picked up at Louisville airport and it had 94,000 miles on it. The vehicle was unsafe to drive as the stop/start feature was faulty. Car ran so rough that at times car would totally die and had to be manually restarted. I called Budget customer service 800 number who said just exchange it at closest location. Evansville didn't have any car to rent and manager told me I should not have taken a car with 94,000 miles on it ! This was the car given to me and on top of that there was damage to front grill that I didn't notice at time of rental. My flight was 2 hours late and I had made a very quick trip from Florida due to a health issue with my father. We were meeting with hospice in Evansville. Again, manager was downright rude and totally uncaring. Rent elsewhere if at all possible. J korba read more

The desk staff were rude and unprofessional. I was also charged a late return fee when I actually returned the car early. I also have yet to receive my refund. Highly recommend that you spend the extra money and use Enterprise or Alamo. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. My husband prepaid for my car rental from Friday - Sunday. The desk agent at the Evansville airport told me he needed a card for a "returnable deposit". I only had my debit card (stupid, I know), so he ran that. I returned the car to the same agent on Sunday. He looked to be about 19 years old and was about as friendly as a honey badger wearing Prada and Gucci. On Sunday, I filled the gas tank, handed him the keys, signed a form and boarded my flight home to Texas. Not so bad, right? WRONG! Three days later I get a text from budget/Avis asking me to return the car because it was overdue. I guess I accidentally put the car in my carry-on bag and took it home. Silly me! When I called customer service, they claimed to not have a record of me renting the car. When I called them again, they were finally able to locate the rental agreement but still claimed I didn't return the car. When I asked to speak to someone else, I spoke to a woman whom I could barely understand and who told me that the issue was resolved. Ok, not so bad right? WRONG. Lo and behold, we check our bank and card statements the next day and see that we now have an over $300 charge on our debit card and over $500 charged on our credit card. All for a car I had for three days that was supposed to be less than $300. I called customer service again and they told me no one was available, so I sent a strongly worded email. They responded by telling me they have "escalated the situation" to their resolution team. Suuuuure, I have an TON of faith in that. They informed me that their investigation would take 7-10 business days. Over a week of no explanation of their incompetence and exorbitant charges? No way. I'll call and email everyday until this is resolved. I can't even begin to describe how stressful and frustrating this situation has been. Budget/Avis customer service is its own layer of hell and I wouldn't wish this BS on my worst enemy. I will NEVER rent from them again and strongly suggest you don't either! read more

Do not EVER use this rental car agency at this location. I had a 9 day car rental reservation to go see my family for Christmas. I used a Chase major credit card to purchase my reservation. Upon getting to the Budget location in Evansville, I had the worst customer experience of my life! The horribly rude desk clerk (I believe her name was Darlene), refused to take my major credit card, because she was convinced it was a debit card. Then she changed her story saying she could not accept the card (the same card that paid for the reservation) because it was associated with a business (it is a company credit card). She changed her story for a third time saying she could not accept the card because she now needed TWO major credit cards in my name. (Even though their sign clearly states that "only A major credit card" is needed to rent a car). I sat in the waiting room with my crying two year old daughter for almost THREE hours, waiting to get the situation figured out over the phone with CHASE! Chase has a contract with Budget, Chase said that Budget was in direct violation of their contract not allowing me to rent the car with my Chase credit card. To make matters worse, Chase called the manager at Budget( who was not at the store) informing the manager(Steve) of the situation. Darlene (the clerk) lied to Steve over the phone saying I didn't even have a credit card in my possession while trying to pick up the car. Steve repeated the lie to Chase, and Chase had to ask several times "are you sure you have the credit card with you?" Of course I had the card-I handed it to Darlene and she refused to take it. So as I hear Darlene arguing with her supervisor over the phone (Steve), Darlene was refusing to do her job. Darlene got off the phone, walked over to me and said "I cannot rent you this car", in an overly shitty tone. I asked her why. After spending countless seconds trying to find an answer she stated that her supervisor agreed that if I didn't have 2 major credit cards in my name, I was unable to rent the car. I went out to the parking lot while watching Darlene clock out of her shift. Chase called Steve informing him of the situation, Steve came out to Budget, and within 2 minutes of swiping my ONE MAJOR CREDIT CARD, I walked off the lot with the car I was supposed to rent 3 hours prior. Not only should Steve have came to the store the second Chase notified him of the situation, but Darlene should most certainly be fired for lying to Chase, and her supervisor. There is NO SUCH POLICY that states you need TWO major credit cards to rent a car from Budget. Their policy and SIGN states "A MAJOR CREDIT CARD". So stay clear of this place and Darlene, choose Enterprise or some other company that doesn't treat their customers this way!!!!!!! read more
