If I could give 0 STARS I would've. I'm not sure if this 5065 Jeff Davis hwy is an accurate address for this company anymore. As I made a reservation for Budget today at 10740 Patriot Hwy Fredericksburg, VA and I believe this is the only location in the area. First let me start off with my reservation was at 10am I received a call at 9:18am stating they don't have vehicles available & the reservation would be cancelled. So I proceed to make a reservation at Avis. I then called the number listed on Google for Avis to confirm they have vehicles prior to coming. They stated this was not the physical location (which I requested to be transferred to and was told they couldn't and then asked if they could contact the physical location and they couldn't do this either but confirmed the location had vehicles on hand) I've never used Budget or Avis so I wasn't aware these are basically the same company as they share a work space & vehicles. Upon arrival I'm informed they don't have vehicles which at this point I'm beyond pissed especially since I called to confirm beforehand and have no way to find out without going to the location. I'm also wanting to know why can I make a reservation if they don't have any vehicles available as Hertz nor Enterprise allow you to proceed. Their website literally says sold out. Then why wouldn't I have been called like I was for the budget reservation if they didn't have anything to rent. This was a complete waste of time and they don't even offer courtesy rides. I asked to speak to the manager he calls some man on his cell phone starts explaining before I even get the opportunity to share my issue as if I didn't request to speak to a manager not anyone else to speak on my behalf. Then the manner was no better has poor customer service skills not went sure of he was in fact a manager. I asked for his name he said Ed. Looking down at the phone the contact was saved under Edgar I requested the last name he asked me why totally unprofessional and he doesn't need to be in charge of anyone's business and said he's the operator of the business. I expressed that I was going to make a complaint he could care less told me call customer service do whatever I needed to do. This further let me know everything I needed to know about both companies as a whole. This is worst experience I've ever had with a rental place and I wouldn't recommend to anyone. The interior is dusty and doesn't look up to par it's almost like someone just stood this location up themselves. They said this happens to them often they asked for the website to be blocked off when they are sold out nothing has happens so it appears to me to be an ineffective business and needs to be closed. read more

My 1 star is for the company in itself, not the specific store other than I asked for a Corolla or comparable and they gave me the worst car- a Malibu. I had serious car repairs needed so I rented a car for a week. No problem right? I got a little discount for paying in full through my heir site. Nice, right? Well my car was ready 3 days earlier than expected. Did I get a refund for those 3 days? NOPE! They said it was because I prepaid. Wow... so you tricked me into prepaying, thinking I was getting better deal, but giving you the car back early equals no discount? Unbelievable!!!! read more

Bait and Switch Trap. The Fredericksburg 4-mile Fork Budget/Avis car rental is a sham. For the third time in a row, I've experienced the following scam: 1) booked a vehicle well in advance 2) day of pickup, call from agency that my car is not available 3) arrive at agency where they offer an inferior vehicle with a minor discount Their excuse is always, "the fleets keep taking all of our nice cars." Avis/Budget Car Rental in Stafford is the best. We've had some issues with our personal vehicles and being able to reserve and get a vehicle at the last minute with Budget and/or Avis has been a lifesaver. Dean and Ahmet have been wonderful. The vehicles are always clean, and the customer service is spot on, they are very respectful. If you book through Avis/Budget directly, be sure that you are not booking the pre-pay, as this will have you paying a $250 vs. $200 deposit. I find that the refund of the deposit back to the credit is very fast and I never have any issues with the refund. read more

I find that Budget has some serious internal issues. I specifically called to see if the car could be dropped at another location other than pick up. We were told tha car could be dropped off at local location with no charge. When the car was taken to local location, individual was told that there would be a one way 300.00 charge. Certainly your personnel should not be giving out erroneous information. The situation was stressful enough as the young had just lost his mother. Budget added to the stress of the day. I have used budget many times in the past. I will no longer do so. I am ashamed and very hurt that Budget caused this situation to happen at a time like this. read more

You'd be better off hauling everything on your back. For real though. Spare yourself the stress, the financial loss, the newfound grey hairs in your head. We called Budget on Thursday evening to rent a 16-ft. truck for the following day so that we could move LESS THAN FIVE MILES down the road into a house. The total we were quoted, including military discount, came to $115.72. My husband showed up on Friday morning at the scheduled time to pick up the truck and he was told that there were no incoming trucks scheduled for the day (??). So I called customer service and they told me that we could pick up a truck at another location that would be a 90 minute roundtrip drive. I told them that's not going to work because our friends were only able to help us move within a short timeframe, and we didn't have that kind of time to waste. So they told me that they would see what they could do, but it would take up to two hours for them to call me back. Finally we received a call letting us know that a 26-ft. truck arrived into the location of the original reservation, and we were promised (HA) that we would not be charged a penny more than the original amount since we didn't need or want a 26-ft. truck, we only needed a 16-ft. truck. Further, we were promised (HA) a 25% discount for the inconvenience...which if you do the math, comes to $86.84. All in all, we were delayed 4-5 hours in getting the truck due to Budget's errors. Therefore, we were not able to move all of our belongings on Friday before sunset, and had to move the other half on Saturday...and pay additional for moving help, since our friends were only available to help out on Friday. We returned the truck on Saturday evening, a couple hours delayed but the location told us no sweat since they understood that Budget caused us 4-5 hours in delays on the front end. Oh it gets better...let's talk about the financial aspect of this fiasco! We currently have two charges pending on our bank account...the first is for $280, the second is for $76.76, and the bank told us that the second charge was actually ATTEMPTED for $351.76!!! So that would come to a grand total of $356.76 that we have been charged, $631.76 that was attempted. Quite the far stretch from the original quote of $86.84!!! And again, for a reservation for a 16-ft. truck to move less than 5 miles down the road...?? So now we have to file a dispute with our bank due to Budget's fraudulent activity, cancel our debit card so that they cannot continue to charge us for new make believe fees and wait for reimbursement of the $264.92 that was overcharged. Again, we would have been better off hauling everything on our backs. 9 calls to customer service only caused additional unbelievable frustration. This company is a joke. read more

I will start out by saying that Ms Crystal is amazing and I wish that she wasn't with another customer when I came in because I am sure that my experience would have been a lot better had she been my rep. The guy was kinda dismissive. My car smelled of smoke and didn't have unlock on the key fob. I ended up bringing the car back early but the rep never told me that when you prepay you forfeit the days you don't use if you bring it back early. This whole experience was the pits. read more

I'm so upset this rental cost me 704.00 for 4 days!!!... I rented a car from 11/11-11/15 through my credit card for 413.00. I was told when I picked up the car that 250.00 of the additional 291.10 they held on my card would be refunded once I turned in the car. The charge posted to my account 11/15 for 291.10. I called 11/19 and the agent said they would refund the charge 7-10 business days. I waited until 12/01 and there was not a refund. I called and spoke to a supervisor that told me that the agent that told me that the 250.00 would be refunded was incorrect and the agent that I spoke to that told me the refund would be done on 11/19 also told me incorrect information. He told me that they would be "put on training" for giving wrong information. When I asked for the names or ID numbers he said they do not have that. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would! Reserved a 12 TWELVE Passenger Van WEEEKS before our beach trip as we have 7 children, Friday we call to confirm pickup for Saturday. Are told everything is great! Saturday morning show up and guess what?!? They claim Fleet took the van by mistake?!?! YEAH RIGHT! They don't have our rental!! I am PISSED! Their solution take to rentals(a mini-van and sedan) on our beach trip dividing us up for the ride.. SMFH! Looking at their reviews it adds up and makes sense! UPDATE: 6/27 Ohhhhhh but where to begin!!! Reserved a 12 passenger Ford Transit for our family beach trip almost a MONTH in advance... called the day before the rental was to be picked up and told them we'd be late picking up as work duties changed.. was told that it was better as they wouldn't have it ready in time. So we agreed to pick it up Saturday at 9:30 instead of Friday to ensure it would be ready. Arrive Saturday to get it and it was taken by their Fleet! How the hell do I reserve something a month in advance and you give it to fleet?!?! No one else in town had a 12 or 15 passenger as by now it's Saturday! Finally they call to say they have a 15 passenger van that would be avail at 3pm. We are now super late for our trip should've been gone at 10:30.. Upon check out we are told they can't alter contract until we return. We are told they would hold a deposit of 200.00.. imagine our surprise when we checked the account that evening and they had taken over $750 for a rental that should have been $371!!! Called the supervisor she conveniently is ALWAYS not present and sucks at returning calls.. she tells us the money will be refunded before we return from our trip 6/25. We'll, here it is 6/27 almost 6/28 and STILL no refund! We lost an entire day of our trip, had money charged fraudulently by this company and their compensation was a credit of 1 day of the rental! THEY ARE A company!! If you need a rental go ANYWHERE but here! By the way.. do some research Budget and Avis are the same company compliments of the Better Business Bureau they involved law enforcement in a handful of states for baiting and switching customers and OVERCHARGING! I rented a car from this branch in May 2019. There was a sign on the door and the counter that read, "If you are leaving a car here for the duration of your rental, please park in the spots in front of ______. There will be paving operations in our lot and, if you park in front of Avis/Budget, you may be towed." Of course, I followed the instructions and came back in 4 days to find my vehicle had been towed. The staff was sympathetic and tried to help. Three hours later I found where my vehicle had been taken and paid a fee (greater than the rental fee) to get it back. I called and emailed customer service. They told me they weren't responsible for my vehicle. I asked if they were responsible for the sign in their office and they had no response. Had they offered anything, even an admission of their mistake, I would return. For now, I will drive past them on my way to Enterprise. read more

We have been doing business at this location for 9 years now. We are huge fans. The only improvement I would suggest is that cars be a little cleaner at pick up. This is THE ABSOLUTE worst place to rent anything. I stood there and watched them argue over who's turn it was to go on break. Truck was filthy and not taken care of at all. When I went to return it it was a gallon short of being full so they made me drive around to get a gallon of gas. Never once did the smile, thank me for my business or even make eye contact. If I hadn't been so desperate for a truck I would've walked out! Budget you will never see a dime from me or anyone else I know and you can thank four mile fork budget for that! Reserved a truck 6 weeks in advance. Received a confirmation email Saturday. Called Sunday to personally confirm and they stated the truck we were supposed to receive had been pulled from service due to a maintenance issue and they would have another one for us later in the morning. Informed them we were flying up and would be there just after 8am as per our reservation that we made 6 weeks in advance. Truck showed up at 930. They provided $25 discount for our inconvenience. This place is a JOKE!!!! After waiting 20 min while they tried to deal with their last mess up, I was told that the truck I had reserved was not available. Not only was that truck not available, they had NO TRUCKS! The desk agent, who might as well have been a toddler told me call customer service (as if they had a truck). After going to a U haul place that was able to locate a truck for me, I did call customer service...clearly not located in the US and got passed around and then hung up on. This is the worst rental experience I have ever had. I have rented 9 vehicles in the last year. The van was full of food wrappers, had ketchup stains on the seats, several cup holders had sticky goo in them and the exterior looked like it had not been washed in a while when I picked up the van. The staff said they would take in the back to clean it. I waited 30 mins, they brought the van back, stains and candy wrappers still all over the vehicle. The van had 4 bald tires, had so many dent and scratches. I didn't have extra time to wait, so I took it. My husband had to clean it before we left for our trip and after so we wouldn't get hit with their clean vehicle fee of $250. SUCH a nightmare. read more

The older woman at this budget has the worst customer service of any car rental place I have ever been. Walked in, and there was no one in the store. When she finally came in she didn't even acknowledge I was in the store waiting. Upon checkout with others waiting she never let them know she was busy and acted as if we were all an inconvenience to her. Another review you ask. Yes. I had to deal with this place again after returning another truck here, this time during business hours. One would think that things would go smoothly but no, no at this lovely establishment. Once again they have managed to have poor customer service and Budget as a whole has lost a longtime customer as a result. I'll spend my money elsewhere to have a cleaner truck and not have to deal with these people. The national customer service department will hang up on you as well when you try to calmly explain your situation (not yelling and screaming and cursing) and will not allow you to speak to a manager. Never again will I deal with these people with poor attitude and absolutely horrible customer service. These is the worse rental car location I have ever encountered. The two female employees at this location are rude, slow and unprofessional. The process that anywhere else takes 3-5 minutes in this place takes 20-30 minutes. They do everything posible not to help you. If you call customer service they are just as unprofessional as their local employees. Due yourself a favor, pay a little more and you will receive prompt and profesional service at Enterprise Car Rental. I have learned my lesson! Unprofessional as hell. It's as if they were being purposefully slow. Giving each other daps, whispering like school children, says "cool beans" over & over while the boss tells everyone he wasn't supposed to be here today. My friend's reservation was messed up until she walked them through the process. It took me 45 minutes to get a car (with my reservation) because there was 1 person in line before me.
