I reserved a 4x4 truck four days in advance for a mountain trip, and even completed the pre-check in process the day before. When I arrived they had no truck and tried to give me a midsize SUV which is useless in the snow and ice conditions we were headed into. The staff was unapologetic and offered little solutions. I felt like this was a classic "bait and switch". I contacted Enterprise HQ and they promised to follow up with an alternative. Here I am, 6 days later, and have yet to hear back from them. To have me "check-in" for a non-existent vehicle is a blatant lack of respect for their customer's time. They turned a planned vacation into a giant headache. Avoid this company and location if you actually need the vehicle class you book. Definitely will use Turo for my next car rental. read more

Rented a car for 4th of july weekend to take a trip to Myrtle Beach with my family. When I arrived it was a smooth check-in process as usual and was greeted by Rochelle before walking out front to my vehicle. They always explain everything in great detail to give you all of your options. Do the once over for any signs or damages prior to you leaving the lot and email you copies of everything almost immediately. I also love how each time you are provided a card from the person who assisted you so you have a connection and dont have to start over again with any questions from another associate. I will continue using this location for all my rental card needs! read more

UPDATE-- Been almost a month and not one response to any of my calls, voicemails, emails!!! This is how they treat customers! Will NEVER use this company ever again!! Guy hit my vehicle and his insurance sent me here to get a rental while my vehicle was being fixed. His insurance was covering everything. Pick up my rental and they need to put a card on file but would be reimbursed my $50 when I brought it back. Bring it back and they charged my card three days later for $275 saying I added their premium insurance, which I didn't since I have full coverage insurance, and then gave me a vehicle that this guys insurance didn't even cover because it was considered a premium vehicle!!!! I showed up, gave them my name, they gave me keys!! I didn't ask for a particular vehicle. I didn't even have a choice. So I call them up to explain what happened and a young girl who has zero manners and should NEVER work in customer service ever again told me they would refund part of it only because it would get flagged by upper management. Whatever that even means. I asked for her name and to speak to a manager and she flat out told me NO and hung up on me!!! Honestly, I feel like they are scamming people by doing this because they know people would have no way to prove their side of the story. This was the absolute worst rental experience ever. If there was an option for zero stars, I would do that. Not only was Christian rude, but he talked to me as if I did not " understand" what he was saying as I declined the additional coverage for the rental. I am twice his age and have a complete understanding of my rights and responsibilities when it comes to renting a vehicle. I also have excellent insurance and do not need to pay for additional coverage. Aside From that, he made it seem like I should feel privileged because he was "allowing" me to rent a Jeep Cherokee. I told him that it was a step down for me because I own a grand Jeep Cherokee. To which he replies, "Oh well it's either going to be this or a minivan." I told him that I would in no way except a minivan (I'm a Jeep girl for life). When I arrived home, I noticed that the trunk area was completely disgusting, see attached photo. The trunk had a lot of crumbs, there were drinks spilled all over the vehicle, and there was more food between the seats. The windows were dirty because they had obviously not been cleaned. Since this is a rental place that is frequently used by my Jeep dealership for rentals, I will forward a copy of this complaint to them. Worst place I have come across. If I could give negative stars I would. It first started with picking the car up. The staff lady was more interested in getting to know the black man behind us instead of helping the wife and I so much so I had to say something 3 different times. Second was the car. They knew we rented in VA and driving to FL we came up to house hunt. The car actually had pieces from the underside falling off and going under the tires as we drove it down 301. Roadside told us we would have to Uber to Regan airport which was a hour and half away. On our dime no less told them no. They said they would transfer me to customer service which never happened. I had to call myself they told me they would take care of me. Then I was told to take it to the Warrenton road location since I was .6 miles from. They refused to help me told me I need to take my ass to the original location. So we drove the pos to Fl. I was told the district and store manger would call me with in 20 minutes it's been 3 days I have left 5-6 messages still nothing won't return my call or help. So I have started a BBB claim against the company. Since I have video and pictures of the car and all the warning lights on when given to us. And a 22 minute video of the Palm Bay location talking trash about how the Fredericksburg location should have never let that car out and it's unsafe to drive. Used Enterprise for a day while having my vehicle services at a local dealership... The staff here was very friendly and helpful. The location seems to be rather busy, as I kept hearing them tell people who were calling in asking for cars that they had none. The vehicle that was issued to me stunk really bad, like someone was smoking in it and they tried to cover up the smoke smell, which made it musty and nasty. Fortunately, I only needed the vehicle for 1/2 a day or I would not have been able to tolerate the smell. The process to pick up the car also took a while; I think I waited about 35 minutes for a car to be issued to me, after I checked in. read more

My Cadillac was in a accident and was going into the body shop on 12/19 we made the reservation on 11/29 for a comparable model and we were told three times just call when you are at the body shop and we will come and pick you up to get your car we called two more time to confirm and it appeared we were set. Monday morning at 0930 we called they picked up my wife and took her to their office for the rental but they had no cars after 45 minutes of waiting my wife was getting upset and asked what happened to our reservation and no response the manager just said he deals with thousands of people and he is trying. later he offered my wife a Volkswagen Atlas that he did not have there and my wife explained that's no a luxury vehicle like my Cadillac XTS he got very offended. He explained to my wife "I Don't have to rent to you at all" then i called and he said the same thing to me. he then took a 62 year old Grandmother and loaded her in a nasty old work van and took her back to the Body repair shop and left "STRANDED" her there with no way home and frankly did not care. Do not waste money on roadside assistance with Enterprise Rental Cars. Let me begin by saying that everyone I encountered was professional, polite, and courteous. My problem was that when the car got a flat tire while I was more than 100 miles out of town, the roadside assistance was an epic fail. Keep in mind that a spare tire donut is not to be used to drive over 55 mph or more than 50 miles; both of which would be needed to get me home that hot Sunday in July. 10:10 am: Tire blew. I pulled off road and called Enterprise roadside assistance. 10:18 am: Received text from Enterprise Roadside Assistance stating that assistance would be there in 89 minutes....(In July heat) 12:15 pm: (2 hours / 120 minutes later) I call to get a status and am told that the driver is towing a vehicle at the moment. Was he 2 hours ago? We are still sitting in the July heat on the side of the road. 1:17 pm: (3 hours / 187 minutes sitting in the July heat) and we get a text message from Enterprise Roadside Assistance...your assistance is estimated to arrive in 313 minutes. Yes that is correct. Three hundred and thirteen minutes or 5 hours and 13 more minutes to wait in the July heat. I paid for roadside assistance. Where is it? I couldn't waste more time waiting for the help I paid for to arrive. I changed the tire myself and put on a spare but Enterprise advised me against driving with the small donut tire 130 miles home at 65 miles an hour which would still be slow for the interstate that we would have to travel on to make it home. The rest of the afternoon is a blur of Enterprise promising to find me a car to switch out and then failing on that promise when we arrived at the nearby Enterprise branches, one after another. The issue was escalated but I was never contacted by anyone from roadside assistance to find out if I still needed help or made it home safe. As far as I know they are still trying to get someone to change the tire or trying to find me a replacement car. read more

I usually have a good experience with Enterprise. This was my first time at this location. When I arrived at the location after booking online, they couldn't find my reservation. I have the confirmation details and they offered me a car. It had 1/4 tank of gas. I got paperwork at all. Nothing to my email, nothing printed. I returned the car overnight and called to verify they checked it in after I didn't get a confirmation email with the final price and couldn't get through. I've never had this much hassle getting rental details confirmed and have no idea the final price. I doubt I'll rent here again. I have sent two emails to Enterprise, one prior to writing the first review and one after being asked to do so here. I have not had a response for either email. As of today, March 11,2016 there is still a transaction for $328 that has neither posted nor dropped off the account. In addition, the return for $251.30 as per the receipt is not showing up as a credit either. Do not make a reservation or utilize this Enterprise location. I booked, and received a rental confirmation email through a travel website days ago. I received a phone call from Rachel at 7am stating that the vehicle wasn't in their inventory. I called at 7:30 to discuss. I was on hold for 15 minutes. Someone answered, and I asked to speak to Rachel. I was told that she was busy, and the person I spoke to offered to help. With an attitude as if she didn't care, she confirmed that they didn't have the vehicle. She proceeded to offer smaller vehicles. I explained that I live in another city, and I need the larger vehicle in my original reservation. I went on to say that I couldn't find the vehicle in my area. So I asked if she could help me look across a larger area to find the vehicle. She immediately stopped me and explained that is a separate Enterprise group, and she couldn't help further. So I had to cancel the reservation, and find another Enterprise location that had the vehicle that I wanted. (For less money than the original reservation) The issue here is that I made a reservation days ago, only to find out today the vehicle isn't in stock. Additionally, when I asked for help to resolve I was given short answers with a callous undertone. Not willing to put in the time to help, and not focused on real solutions. The employees clearly do not communicate. Pretty unprofessional. I was supposed to get an intermediate vehicle, ended up in a compact vehicle. Called them to extend my rental and they realized they had given me the wrong vehicle. They said they would have the intermediate vehicle cleaned and ready for me when I got to the location. Should have been a Ford fusion. Instead they rented that to someone else. Should have been in and out in less then 10 mins. Ended up being at the location for over an hour just to be given a small SUV that was not cleaned. It was disgusting. I'm pretty sure they have a guarantee that the vehicle will be extra clean considering covid, it's on the website. I reeked of blunts I told the gentleman that rented me the vehicle and he claimed it was the air freshener bomb. Worst customer service ever. Instead of them trying to make it right they try and say it was clean and it's in the system as clean when driven off the lot. Pictures were taken. I only made it to the wawa less than half a mile away from the location when I noticed how dirty it was. The guy that does the detailing told the guy that he was done for the day and wasn't cleaning the vehicle. I should have been comped for a few days additionally and even some of my money back for not even getting the correct vehicle to begin with. But nothing was done. I will never go to this location ever again and in telling anyone and everyone how unprofessional and unorganized they are. Dan is flat out RUDE!!!! Very unprofessional!!!! I have been renting from this office for business and personal rentals for more than two years and have never had a bad experience. All of the agents are extremely friendly and efficient. I often use the pick up and drop off service and every driver has also been friendly and safe drivers. The vehicles are always in great condition, they often give complementary upgrades based on vehicle availability. I have alway found Enterprise to be the lowest priced or at least comparable to the lowest priced rentals. This is definitely my favorite rental car company and office in Fredericksburg read more

I rented a vehicle for a trip (one week) during Christmas. I paid the rental fee in advance at the time of the reservation. They knew who rented the vehicle two months later when the vehicle got a parking ticket they billed me for (that I already paid) and again a month ago when they billed me for an unpaid toll. BUT when I called to ask why they had billed me TWICE for the rental I prepaid for-nothing. (The second charge was higher than the original charge I paid at the time of the reservation). Called local, they gave me a Northern VA # where I left a message-a week later, no return call. So I contacted corporate through their website-again no reply. So basically at this point I've paid nearly $800 for a one week rental of a mid-size SUV that they advertise now for under $400 per week. I had scheduled to rent a car from this location on 2/24/2017. When it was time to pick up the car there were no issues. They were a little busy which was understanding since it was a Friday evening at 6pm. I waited about 5 minutes, if less, while they finished cleaning the car up for me. Everyone was very friendly and professional. I can't remember the man's name that had helped me with the paperwork and getting everything squared away but he was great. I had a 2016 Jeep Compass. Then as he gives me the keys he asks if I have full coverage car insurance. I tell him yes and he then begins to tell me about their full coverage protective insurance for only $26.99. I decide to get it, even though I'm having the rental for a day. The following day I bring it back earlier than I had originally scheduled it to be back. A different gentleman checks the car over to see if there was any damage to it. He then begins to have an attitude and say that the front headlight is hanging off the vehicle. What?! I knew there was absolutely no way. He shows me where it's "hanging off". When I see it I had to take a close look at it to see what he was talking about. The headlight looked like it had been pushed back in. I tell him the man that helped me yesterday most likely missed it while he was checking the vehicle over for any previous damage. I only used this vehicle to help a family member move to a different place and it was local! He then begins to disagree with me and I tell him well I bought the protection service you guys offer. He then just says okay you can leave then and walks off. The only person that drove that car was myself and that was it and when I did drive it is only drove it from Enterprise to my home and to my family members old house to the new house she was moving into and back to Enterprise. My husband and I made a reservation to pick up a rental car to drive to another state. When we got to enterprise to pick up the car, we were told that we were going to be charged another $200 on top of the rental fee. We were not informed of this and the manager told us that it stated in our confirmation email of the extra charge, but when we looked at the email it didn't state there would be any extra charge. Then when we went to pay for the rental, we were told since we didn't have a local address connected to our debit card that we couldn't pay with our debit card and we would have to pay with our credit card. We were unable to pay with a credit card. We are a military family stationed overseas, so we do not have a local address. The employee who was trying to help us in anyway that she could said that not every enterprise office is like this and would accept any address as long as we could certify it. I received horrific service for the second time at the Enterprise Rental Car Company; Fredericksburg,Virginia location. I reserved an intermediate size car on August 2, 2015 for a 10:00AM pick-up. When I arrived, there were only 2 customers ahead of me while there were 4 customers behind me. I was promised that a ford focus was available and in the process of being cleaned for me. While waiting for the car, all of the customers that arrived after me were helped and received cars before me. I was shocked and angered to see that the car that I was promised was given to couple that had arrived after my arrival. In fact, all the customers that arrived after me received immediate friendly service while I was told to sit and wait. When the clerk finally returned, he said he had a car and did not apologize for the wait. Did I mention that I waited in their office for over 30 minutes?.....Unacceptable!!. I told him that I wanted to cancel my reservation and was disappointed with the service. His manager or supervisor was present and did not apologize or offer any assistance. This was the second time that was overlooked by their staff. I missed valuable time and money as I had a very important appointment. Due to their incompetent and rude staff, I had to reschedule my appointments and pay for loss time. I cannot believe that the Enterprise organization would allow this type of unprofessional and poor customer service. First time renting from this location. Was very pleased with customer service. We were able to pick up the car a day earlier than planned with no hassle. The car had a very bad cigarette smell even though it was a "non-smoking" car. I called customer service on the way down the road and mentioned it when we returned the car. My husband and I just received horrific service from this location. First of all... We had tried to schedule a pickup, and I won't even get into what kind of a fiosco that was! So, we were like forget it. So, we finally get to this location and had to stand in line for AT LEAST 30 mins! There was 3 service members working (On a Sat afternoon), but there was 3-4 people in front of us. They would help a customer, and then spend 10+ minutes cleaning the car the customer was receiving. That should have been cleaned beforehand! So, it's finally our turn up to the counter. Where we find out that we have a $50 deposit to pick up the rental. Now, our rental and everything is being covered by our insurance company. We were never told about a deposit. We were actually told "Everything has been taken care of. You just have to pick it up". So, we pay the deposit (Which we really don't have to spend). Only to find out about 5 minutes later that they are literally giving us the largest, most gas sucking truck they have. I explained to them that my husband has a hour drive to work every day. We are also on very tough times right now after 2 deaths in the famIly. But according to them, it's the "Only thing they had available TO US". Only because our reservation had to be switched from the location a mile up the road! Are you serious?! You can't tell me that's the only vehicle they could give us, or they couldnt go just a mile up the road to get something.Trust me, there were plenty of other vehicles back there! The guy that was helping us even came and told us that he was going to a location in Stafford to get us a vehicle. I asked him if it were smaller than the one they had. "No, it's the same size". He obviously had not listened to a word I said or he didn't care. So, my husband I are now being asked to wait AT LEAST 45 minutes longer to get something we probably will not be able to afford to put gas into! And for what reason?! Why do we have to continue waiting when theres multiple vehicles back there (Even the large ones). We were never really given a explanation, and I didn't really care. I was fed up with these people at this point. I eventually told my husband let's forget it, and to get our deposit back. We are still waiting on that refund, so hopefully that comes through. I was provided a car for an accident claim. They told me they were going to pick me up from the body shop at 7:30 am so I could make it to work. They arrived 45 minutes late and had me sign the document without walking around the car because it was raining bad and because I was now late for work. When I returned the vehicle, they accused me of putting a small dent in the back bumper. The refused to talk to the attendant gave me the car and also refused to see if there was camera footage to prove that I had not done the damage. Now making a claim against my insurance and informing me that I will have to pay loss of use on top of the damage I did not do. Never use this company unless you want to be late for work and accused of damaging a vehicle that sits in your driveway unused. read more
