Budget Glass repaired a frameless shower door closure that was not purchase from them. The door has never worked properly since the original company installed and tried to repair it numerous times. Budget Glass diagnosed the issue, ordered the correct parts and reinstalled the door. The door now functions perfectly as it was intended. The staff are friendly, professional and experienced. I live on Gabriola Island, a short ferry ride away from Nanaimo. I have had 2 purchases from Budget Glass. First one was a glass shower stall, then most recently replacement windows in a cabin. For the first purchase, I was most impressed with their level of after-sale service-they came twice, and readily so, to adjust and tweak the strength of the magnetic close of the shower door. Remember, I live a ferry ride away. Then with the window purchase, Mike worked really hard to schedule Butch to come out to measure at as early a date as they could make it, then scheduled me very quickly after the windows arrived. Again, this is scheduling for an Island visit. Butch's measurement and assessment of the situation was careful and precise, so much so that when he and Derrick came to install, it was smooth and efficient. AND they cleaned up beautifully afterwards. Meanwhile, the office team of Melanie and Tasha were always helpful on the phone taking and confirming orders. I'm not big on writing reviews normally. Budget deserves this one. From the moment of first contact they have been both warm and professional. The salesman who came to my home to do the quote was respectful of my home and me. He was helpful answering questions and making suggestions. No hard sell, nothing pushy. Helpful and respectful. The front sales staff, when I stopped in, were the same. They showed me samples and demonstrated product in a way that reflected their knowledge and confidence in what they were selling and what they do. They called and let me know that my windows had come in and we were able to move up the install date. When the installers arrived they let me know how they usually work and what they needed for access. They also were respectful of my home and me. I was off sick and they were very respectful. They were also very efficient and the two installers on day one were like a well oiled machine. Amazing to watch and no wasted motion or time. They worked clean and kept my place clean. They went above and beyond and re-installed all my blinds at the end of the day. On day two of install, the same. The patio door presented a lot more to do and again , worked clean and efficient. One of the installers apologized that he didn't have a certain kind of filler strip and came back at the end of a day on a Friday to install it. They had a mishap installing the shower door, it broke. You could see the installer was bothered by it and he managed to find a replacement ( unusual size) and put it in. The entire team from beginning to end of job have been a pleasure to work with. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. read more

I phoned the place a day ago to repair a rock chip on the windshield. Being told the price & approximate time that the repair would take. When I stopped by today the repair guy mentioned to me that there is a possibility that the chip can spread out during the repair. I asked him why they did not let me know about this during the phone conversation. The guy seemed completely careless about the situation. His reply was that they never tell customers this kind of information over the phone. When I mentioned that if they told me this ahead of time I would have a choice of coming or not coming the guy said that if I was not happy with the situation I could leave then. I did so. Cannot say anything about the quality of their work, but this kind of attitude looked very suspicious to me. So I've decided to go with Baywood Glass company which was more informative & friendly. If you decide to use Budget Glass my suggestion will be check everything thoroughly ahead of time & do not be surprised with the mentioned above kind of service. read more
