If there was a zero star option, that is what i eould choise. I had the absolute worst experience. Severe damage to several pieces of furniture is the least of the issues. Try DOUBLE the rate for the move out...estimated at 6 hours and took 11.25. Try a move in crew that apparently could not read and left clearly marked FRAGILE boxes under tool boxes in the garage. Or boxes marked KITCHEN in the garage. Or bookshelves left at odd angles and not up against the walls. Add to that being verbally threatened by the guy in charge and you may understand why in my opinion you should stay clear of this company. I paid way less 3 years ago to have 2 5 ton trucks move me over here from Maple Ridge. read more

Quite possibly the most unreliable, uncaring, unprofessional and horrendous experience of my life! The fellow in charge had one helluva nasty attitude and told me he had been in the business for 30 years, but that would be 29 and 3/4 years too long. This is NOT A COMPANY anyone should consider ever using. To top that off, they processed the final payment without my consent, and I had to pay others to move things they didn't. They threw stuff helter-skelter and had no regard for antiques many of which arrived broken. It's a wonder they're still in business, and all I can say is DON"T EVEN CONSIDER USING MINUTE MAN EVER! I wish there were a rating for the worst in the world because they would get it. read more

Worst moving company on Vancouver island! Considering it was snowing they showed up on time. It all went downhill from there! The movers were Obnoxious and argumentative! Rude beyond belief! Throwing my stuff into the truck when they thought i wasn't watching. Kept telling me they couldn't get all of my stuff in the truck. No big surprise when A lot of my furniture and lamps were scratched and broken. It was the worst packed truck I'd ever seen and i have moved a lot! If you don't mind dealing with rude, abusive, obnoxious, mind numbing idiots, who care nothing for you or your stuff this is the company for you! This company, They are Liars, cheaters, and unprofessional buffoons! I do not understand How they keep this business going??? It's all bad with this company. Minute Men were referred to us by Big Steel Box when it was determined that our storage container couldn't be dropped at our new location due to space issues. From the first contact with Minute Men, they were helpful and professional. Two movers and our bin showed up in a timely manner despite a GPS glitch and they were amazing. We were overestimated on our moving from Nanaimo to the UK. It took 16 weeks for the items to arrive, much longer than stated. We were given a refund, which was posted to a Canadian account, - hello we moved to the UK. This refund was Mar 2018 and we are now August 2018 and still not received the refund of 0ver $1200. When I called for an estimate the Minute Men moving company came when many other companies did not have the time to even visit and see the scope of what was needed. On the day of the move the two men who worked with us to relocate things into storage and our new office space worked very hard and quickly and got everything stacked into the storage that we had rented. They negotiated small parking spaces with their large truck and did the job professionally. I would highly recommend Minute Med Moving and Storage. read more

A friend hired this company, mid August, to move her condo contents within the city o f Nanaimo. The move distance was less than 5 km. When unpacking her boxes found that boxes had been opened, 300 CDs and a painting worth $2000 were missing. The lady is still distressed over this as the moving company will not accept responsibility! read more

The guys were lovely but a few of my items were damaged and the company's insurance covers very little so it wasn't worth the work of claiming damage. They also charged me more hourly than I was quoted, but did reimburse me once I pointed it out. read more

Worst moving experience of my life. They promise you security and full insurance but on moving day they left our loaded truck unattended in a shopping mall lot and only after we paid them for delivery told us "oh by the way, we think maybe the truck was broken into". We lost our tv, power tools, and hundreds of dvds and cds. They told us they would pay for replacement but then when the claim was filed their insurance paid us a paltry 60 cents a pound for a total of just over $400 on contents actually worth over $13000. Reading Wayne H.'s post makes me really wonder if we were actually "robbed" as the thieves seemed to know exactly which bins to open (the ones from the garage with tools in them) and which boxes to go for. If you want to start off with problems with your neighbors this is the company to use. My new neighbors moved in a week ago using this company. We share a driveway as we live in a townhouse complex, and the movers parked half in my driveway. When i noticed i went out to speak to them as my fiance was coming home in a couple hours and he would need tp park in our driveway. The movers said they plan on getting the move done as fast as possible as they want to be on a ferry that night, so at this point we were heading out for the night and told them it should be fine until we come home. After being told that he didn't want to move the truck as he now had an insecure load and didn't want to break their stuff. Come 9pm at night we come home and have to park across the street, we take our dogs for a walk and when we came back asked them to please move their truck, as now they had moved their truck and taken up our whole driveway. They basically told us that it wasn't their problem and they are not moving their truck, all with attitude and not being willing to compromise what so ever. My fiance got into an argument with the mover regarding them now trespassing, and they had half an hour to get off of our property. It should be noted that they took 7 hours to unload the two bedroom two bathroom townhouse. Luckily the new neighbors were decent and we managed to work it out with them. Both my fiance and i worked very early the next morning and all we wanted was to park on our property and go to sleep. The company left at 10pm, which in my opinion they must have been wasting time throughout the day. The next day i sent a complaint to the company and still have yet to get an apology from them. This is a horrible company and i wouldn't use them ever. read more
