Hi there, I am from Chicago and travel to Grand Rapids for work. I have rented car from this store a dozen times in last 5 months. At first I thought this store may not have good inventory, but I was totally wrong. They have good fleet of cars and I am totally impressed with their service. Michelle and Tina offer great service. New staff is also great. Very nice ladies out there and My experience is satisfactory and good so far. read more

Asked me to call State Farm instead of do their job. Gave me a $45 credit after spending $200 plus for a service I didn't need and doing their job for them. I would never recommend this place to anyone, I'd rather walk in 10 inches of snow than rent from here. And had multiple people calling me knowing I'm a disgruntled customer. Don't rent from here unless you got time to do their job and want to be bent over with no vaseline.

Brendan was exceptional, very thorough inspection of car, very helpful, and even drove us back to our hotel when we returned the car late in the afternoon. We were given three options: a sedan or two SUV's. We chose the Hyundai Tucson, which had damage, (passenger side door, exterior panel and the trunk's lid), which we documented. While driving, the car shook when braking, an indication of a much needed alignment. The car also did not shut off after parking. The rear camera stayed on after shifting into drive and the only way to correct it was to shift it into park and then back to drive. We reported these problems when we returned, Julie wrote it down and said she would have it shuttled to Detroit so the driver could make that determination but also said that they don't do alignments since they don't last and the rear camera was an accessory and they don't deal with that, We emphasized that this vehicle was UNSAFE to rent and that the vehicles should be checked by a mechanic before being rented again. This office on Alpine is woefully understaffed and they need to hire more people.

This last minute notice left me with virtually no time to make alternative arrangements. The local branch offered a lesser vehicle but made no apparent effort to help locate a convertible at a nearby location. When I contacted Enterprise's corporate customer service line, I was told that a supervisor would call me back to address my concerns. That call hasn't came. As a long-time Enterprise and National customer, this experience was extremely disappointing. The issue wasn't simply that the vehicle wasn't available, it was the lack of communication, accountability, and customer care throughout the process. A reservation should mean something, especially when customers are relying on it for an important event. Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend that others consider alternative rental companies. Unfortunately, Enterprise failed to deliver both the vehicle I reserved and the level of customer service I expected from a company I've trusted for years.

There's a fantastic "Lodge" type building with a full kitchen and bathrooms up at the top of the hill that can be rented for weddings or large family reunions. They offer volleyball areas, kayak rentals and camping spots. You can get spots where you can park with water and electricity, or you can get more primitive spots where you need to hike in. Most spots have a cement fire pit. It's very family friendly with a nice little store for camping supplies, shirts or frozen treats. There's a nice, clean bath house and Port-a-John's for people who don't mind using those. For people who don't like campers or tents, Wabasis offers cabins and a cottage. The cottage has four bedrooms, a well stocked eat-in kitchen, living room, TV, rowboat and a bath. Two of the bedrooms have queen beds, one bedroom has two twin beds and one bedroom has a single twin bed. Someone could also sleep on the couch, and we have even had kids sleep on the love seat. The cabins offer two bedrooms, with a small kitchenette/couch but NO bathrooms. The cabins are clean and spacious for a family of four. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other offers two sets of bunk beds. There is a couch in the cabins for an extra person. Both the cabins and the cottage are pet-friendly. We enjoy camping and have camped at Wabasis with tents, and our camper. In the fall we usually rent the cottage or a cabin, depending on what's available and have all the kids and grandkids come for a long weekend. There are trails to hike, fishing, and boating.
