Just want to say that I am a regular customer of the Holland Budget/Avis office, averaging 6-8 rentals a year over the last several years. I am always satisfied with my experience. The staff is friendly, helpful and efficient. I've dealt with Nael frequently enough to be on a first-name basis, which makes the rental process that much more enjoyable. We reserved a car from Budget 2 months ago. We arrived today before 10 am to pick up our car, but they had NO cars available for us. We were told several were being driven out from Grand Rapids, and they would notify us by phone when our vehicle arrived. The call never came, so we drove back to the Chicago Dr location in Holland and the store was closed and locked up. Our whole travel day was wasted. They are not trustworthy and did nothing to assist is in getting a vehicle we had prepaid for. This place lacks basic business skills and is managed very poorly. The gentleman who was running the counter was super friendly and knowledgeable. He got me in and out very quickly. The vehicle was ready when I arrived, and was exactly what I requested. DO NOT BELIEVE THE OLD YELP OR GOOGLE REVIEWS! This location is under new management since Summer 2021, and it is fantastic. Also, they have expanded their hours, and are even open on the weekends for several hours to make returning cars on the weekends easier. One thing to note - the automated phone answering system isn't great. Tell it you want to talk to a representative until it passes you through. It will send you to the Budget call center, but it's better than dealing with the automated system. read more

I will NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER rent another car from this establishment. I rented and picked up a car on a Sunday morning. A 5 1/2 trip to Ohio and turned right around. I dropped my keys in their drop box around 1am picked up my car, all good. This past Sunday I repeat that trip returning my special needs siblings home.I again did a turn around dropping the keys in their drop box picked up my go home. Tuesday morning I check my bank account to see if my deposit for the car had been returned NO NOT YET AND the have taken another 563.00 So 332.00 for rental and deposit and an extra 563.00 WHAT WHAT They tryed to tell me it was for smoking cleaning fee of 450.00. Um pardon me I DONT SMOME NEITHER DOES MY SPECIAL NEEDS SISTER NOR MY DOWN SYNDROME BROTHER which is who Id went to pick up . UNBELIEVABLE Theives As I told the rep. Im 60 (1) I Don't Smoke. If I did I believe I would've smoked in the first car. I have the car for a 5 1/2 hour trip each way I'd smoke. Fortunately the rep returned all of my monies except the rental amount but that was absolutely bullcrap. Never ever Budget again. Enterprise is a little further drive for me if I should need to rent another car but Im hoping it will be a better experience. BUDGET IS VERY UN PROFESSIONAL. read more

I made a car reservation for a family member through a third party and the reservation was made for a car from budget. When we called budget to CONFIRM the reservation, the answering service heard CANCEL and just like that, the reservation was cancelled two days before travel. We were able to make another reservation at a cost of nearly an additional $600.00. Even though the mistake was made on THEIR SYSTEM, they said there was nothing they could do about it. Not a dependable location! I booked a rental through Expedia at this place because it was located super close to the family I was visiting. I got there at 830 and no one was in the office which was supposed to be open at 7. Called Budget sat there for 15 min on hold and then they said someone was on their way. Waited another 15 and they said the person couldn't come. Absolutely ridiculous and I went across the street to Enterprise who gave me a car and matched the price in 5 min. read more

I needed a last minute Car rental when my mini van broke down on us and the sweetest lady named Mary working there didn't have any cars available but took my name and number and stayed a few minutes after they closed and got me a vehicle! Our family wouldn't have had a way to get the kids to school or work with out her! Definitely recommend this location! read more
