It is very modern for the area and equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, Flat screen etc. it's conveniently located off of sunrise highway. It's not the 4 Seasons Hotel or Trump Plaza but it gets the job done. It was surprising modern, clean and convenient. The room was very tidy and made the client very comfortable. He was able to shop nearby at Shop Rite and order take out nearby. The front desk guy Neil has been extremely helpful and kind during his stay. He always answers the phone. This is pretty good for a quick overnight stay or rendezvous.

Why the lower score? The hallway and room had a strange smell. Our room was dusty. The doors to the rooms were scuffed and beat up. The furniture in our room was old and needed to be updated. Some of the fixtures and surfaces felt sticky. Luckily they provided a couple of free antiseptic wipes in the room. The price was very expensive for what we experienced. The positives? The staff was fantastic. They were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. The breakfast was very good. There were egg sandwiches, pastries, fruit, and yogurt and everything was replenished on a continuous basis. I liked the free toiletries in the room. There were a number of good restaurants very close by. This hotel backs up to a small airport, but it was quiet. ***Update: I received a lovely email from Jessica, the Front Desk Lead, addressing the housekeeping issues, in response to a survey I filled out about this hotel stay. She is going to let housekeeping know of my concerns. She also offered a discount and free breakfast at their sister property, Courtyard by Marriott, which shares the same parking lot. Very nice!

The best way I can put it is this... you can't stay at a place like Extended Stay and expect to receive Four Seasons quality. If you go into it with that mentality then you'll have a bad experience. We're visiting NY for work and were put up at the Extended Stay, which we went into knowing it probably wouldn't be the greatest. However, we were surprised by both the quality and overall service. The room was clean, the shower water was always hot, the stove worked for simple things like making eggs or boiling water, the bed was comfortable, plenty of room to walk our dogs outside. Whenever we needed additional towels, blankets, toaster, coffee maker, we got it within a matter of minutes. The reviews saying the refrigerators looked like something out of a scary movie are just lying to you because of their personal issues. I'm OCD and didn't notice anything wrong with the refrigerator. In fact, I thought it was quite spacious and left plenty of room for our goods. Scott was our favorite person working at the front. However, the rest of the employees were wonderful, too. We just happened to see Scott more often and he always greeted us and helped us out with minor things like breaking a bill or supplying us with items mentioned above (ie toaster, coffee maker, towel, etc.) Overall, we would stay again if we had to be in the area for an extended time. Don't let the other reviews scare you. Remember that most people come on Yelp just to complain. Others, like myself, tend to be honest. You'll enjoy your time here.
