This hotel is dangerous and very unclean. See photo caption. Mold, mouse poop, dead insects and dirty dishes seen throughout the room. Rates are nearly $230 nighly.

Decent hotel if you need to be in this area. The staff are not overly friendly or eager to help. They seem to lack basic customer service abilities and personality. I had to stay in the area and I booked this without realizing that there is a Courtyard Marriott right across. Nonetheless, I arrived to the hotel with a positive attitude. The hotel is located in a non walking friendly area so you will need a car. Since there are not any restaurant options in the hotel, I used Ubereats delivery and Uber to get around during my short stay. Also, the tv stopped working on the last night of my stay. I didn't bother to call the front desk. The interior grounds are not exactly the cleanest. The room was a decent size but very dated. The air/heat unit is loud when it turns on and off. I wouldn't stay here again.

I want to first state that this hotel received two stars because I'm self-proclaimed Marriott brand snob - there isn't anything wrong with this hotel at all....but the two star description of "Meh, I've experienced better" nailed it for me. The hotel staff, upon check-in, were super friendly and chatty. They asked me about my drive in (6 hours) and were able to maintain courteous pleasantries. The hotel room is nice - has a good amount of space and nice layout (see my pictures for a view of the queen bedroom suite). Where this hotel fails me is in the bed comfort level and the free breakfast. The bed is ok - but it is a bit firm for my liking. I am used to the pillow top mattresses typical of standard Marriott hotels. I also like a thick comforter covering me - the comforter here is pretty thin - so grabbed the blanket meant for the pull-out couch to give me a little bit extra heat and weight (I know, I know. I could have turned up the heat on the thermostat, but I don't like to sleep in a stifling hot room). The breakfast also leaves a lot to be desired (again, comparing it to the hot breakfast you'd get at say, a Residence Inn). They had cereals, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal and pre-packaged muffins and bagels. There was also a stack of Ego Waffles, but they didn't look too appetizing (I'll eat most anything, especially if it's free. This is saying something :). All in all, its a fine hotel. Not luxurious but certainly many many steps above a cheap motel/hotel. If you want a clean middle of the road hotel, you'll be very happy here.

Dirtiest hotel pool I have ever gone to. Dirty towels, socks and "balloons" in/around the pool. I wouldn't let my kids in it.

So I go on Google to leave my review for the Hollywood Motel in Farmingdale, and the FIRST thing that pops up is this news article saying TWO MEN WERE FOUND UNALIVE IN THE JACUZZI. HUH?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! That's the SAME room we stayed in! We were literally sitting in that nasty old crusty jacuzzi like it was nothing. It wasn't even remodeled or replaced. So you're telling me two people died in that tub, they bodies were found soaking in there, and y'all just cleaned it up and rented the room back out like nothing ever happened? Ain't no way. I don't even care if they bleached that thing a thousand times. The thought alone got me sick to my stomach. I'm sitting here replaying it in my head and getting goosebumps. I would've NEVER gotten in that jacuzzi if I knew what happened in that room. Isn't there some kind of law where you gotta tell people somebody died in the room? Or at least remodel the place or rip that old jacuzzi out! Instead it's the same busted, ancient tub looking like it's been there since the '80s. I'm dead serious... I don't think I'm sleeping for a month after finding this out. This whole place creeped me out before I knew the story, and now it all makes sense. Never again. One of the most disturbing motel experiences l've ever had. One star is being generous.

I stayed here because it was close to the Incubus concert my friend and I had attended and we wanted to make a night of it after the show. Now, I fully expected the lovely smell of mildew that you can only get from cheap motel rooms with all-purpose carpeting that hasn't been changed since 1972 and smells oddly of pool towels left in a corner even though there is no pool. It did have it but the management had tried to somewhat remedy this by tying air fresheners to the air conditioner. you know the kind, the little ones shaped like a tree that smell like evergreen. I had to laugh because no cover up attempt was made....there they were just flapping in the breeze. I tried to get ice to no avail as the machine was broken but they had courteously provided us with plastic cups from The Howard Johnson up the street. . Pause again for blatant gaucheness. The cherry on the cake was the hooker I saw entering a room the next day at 9 freaking AM. Broadway Motor inn, you were good for a laugh but I can't explain for the life of me why we didn't book up the street at the HoJo or something?????

So location was perfect for me, the rooms were clean as well with outdated beds, beds set were clean as well, just like the comfort of not sharing anything with nobody. Cost was also okay for the locations. Customer service was okay depending on who was there, my first night checking in, no one was there for 10mins and there's no bell to ring and I mentioned it to the young lady who checked me in but she had some attitude; I was too tired for her, and need to sleep for few hrs before work early morning. So I let that slide. Next day, I told them that my room phone wasn't working and they promised to fix it next day but never did for 5wks. They said breakfast was included, it's a coffee bags that tasted awful, with package oatmeal, muffin, snacks bars. It's like a joke on my first morning. After that, I did some grocery and never pay them any attention with their plus breakfast. Environment seems to be safe i guess but I didn't wonder around after dark. My major complaint was the smoking of weed all over the property and inside the hallways, even the venting system was circulating it in other rooms. I complaint several times but they told me that there's no way they cld know who was smoking and which rooms. So I just left my window open whenever it happened since the room doesn't have any fan. Overall, it's was okay and wasn't noisy to woke me from sleep any day. I observed school buses coming every morning pickups, so some families actually lived there or they are in-between homes. Thanks to the house keeper, that always change my bedsheets . May stay again or not, but it was different experience from apartment rentals. Thanks.

Only negative note would be I had already pre-paid for the stay and was required to leave a $100 credit card hold, which is standard practice. Upon checkout I learned they processed the $100 "hold" at check in and charged my account, they tell me to monitor my account 3 - 7 business days for the refund to be processed. This I think is an unfair and non-standard practice. This had temporary locked my credit card while I was on vaca, not a good position on vacation. Over all, it was a pleasant experience, I would recommend and also stay again.
