The highway is less than fifty yards from this motel and is extremely busy and noisy with what sounded like cars literally racing well into the early morning hours. Other customers load and unload their vehicles slamming car doors and trunks, setting off car alarms and yelling right outside your door. The walls are thin and could bear neighbors sneezing and talking well after 2:00 am. The room was clean and comfortable but this doesn't make up for a terrible night's stay.

Customer service couldn't have been better. When booking this visit I was booking rooms for all in our group, about 10 of us. They made it a breeze and communication was awesome. The walls were definitely thin, I could hear the people in the room next to me, but all in all I would definitely stay here again!

Only complaint - when they built this I've never been in a hotel with such paper thin walls. Every night above me from 11-5 am and beyond they were jumping, making noises and moving furntiture. Beside me I could even hear them blowing their nose and throwing up. It has flimsy plywood construction and the windows are cheap so they offer no sound protection. When I did mobile check in, I made a notation that I wanted a quiet room. When I checked in at the front desk, I asked the person to confirm that it was a quiet room. She said "I am sure that it is." Lies. Instead, our room was at the far end of the building closest to the highway. The only way to be closer to the highway would be to sleep outside. What we got was an unbelievably bad experience. We could hear cars, trucks, motorcycles, pick ups, ALL NIGHT. I did not sleep for more than 30 minutes, maybe from 5 to 5:30am when the noise stopped before starting again at 6am. We tried turning down the AC to cover the road noise. We ended up with a freezing cold, noisy room. It was nothing short of miserable. This hotel needs to be torn down because there is no way that a normal person can get any sleep, and that is the point of starting at a hotel. There is not enough money on earth that would make me stay here again.

It never got that low our whole visit. An hour later we were told by the front desk our room was hot because we use a fan. First it was not on, second that's garbage, especially to blame the customer. I explained to the clerk blaming the customer wasn't how this should be handled. We were booked for three nights and promised it'd get cooler if we'd give it time. When we asked why the rooms went back to 72-74 degrees every day the manager said that's the way they do it. The halls were cooler so why not allow the rooms to cool? The Manager blamed it on the owners. It was our 33 Year Anniversary and it was ruined because the staff made fun of us, insulted us and treated us like we were the problem. We were always very kind, tried not to be difficult. We travel full time and come through Tyler a lot. Our business had stayed at the Sleep Inn 3 days prior and they told us we were the customer of the year we were so kind and the rooms were cold. We also had other issues but we didn't complain but I do want to warn others. If temperature matters this is not the hotel for you. If you want to be treated kindly this is not the hotel for you. I did ask to talk to the Owners because we were told the Manager we were dealing with was the highest person we could deal with. I was told they couldn't give us a number but we did get an email to sales and the manager; yes that's right the same manager we were dealing with. And yes I sent an email pleading for help. We know the manager will post a response to this with a prewritten response but if they really care about the customer they would have made an effort to help us "during" our stay. It wasn't an impossible fix, we felt it was there way of making our stay miserable. The reason we didn't leave was because we used points & cash and they didn't offer to refund.

The tv is placed so it can pivot but it cant actually face the bed or the couch fully. So weird. Also, when did hotels stop having at least HBO? I think they have antenna only tv unless you happen to have access to streaming services. The room appears very clean, and everything functions, but there are cheaper, better options. Also the rooms do not look as pictured, nor do the common areas, which appear to be undergoing renovations. The pool, by the way, is closed indefinitely. I would not have stayed here if I knew the pool was closed. Edited to add: apparently housekeeping is also not something that happens everyday anymore either.

However two days into stay we came back after our room had been cleaned and there was a very strong smell of sewage. We found that the commode was not even attached to the floor. They had to give us another room, but we had to move everything. The hotel itself was very clean though, the cleanest we stayed at this entire trip. Their breakfast was also very good and A very well cleaned and stocked space. Besides the problem with the toilet, we came back one evening to find a dog confined next door with the owners missing. The dog barked and howled continuously until hotel management got into contact with them and made them return to take care of the dog. The only other issue was that I started to use the pool one day and couldn't because it was milky white cloudy. Thought I would be able to use it our last night, but came back to find them pumping the entire pool out. No joy! Overall though it was a nice visit. Special note of thanks to the hard working staff cleaning rooms. Did a great job.

However, This Courtyard needs to be updated and soon. I have stayed here during multiple industrial Fire schools and the last time was great. However there were plenty of facility issues. All of our team stayed here and each noted odd odors like moldy. wet dog smells I their rooms and I had the same issue. Engineering cleans my AC and the odor improved, but never vacated fully. Hallways smelled fabulous, but our 6 rooms were earthy at best. Many of us had internet connection issues on the room TVs. Most were corrected by the second day. In my case the engineers were in my room (152) for 1.75 hours working on hardware and conversing with IT. The unit functioned when they left and failed again within minutes. As stated, the second the TV issues were corrected . Some room bathroom tubs and thresholds need replaced or repaired. Tubs have caulking missing, etc. some staff noted that planned renovations are pushed due to the frequent in flux of patrons due schools, camps concerts, sporting events and others. Issues noted here are also present at all the Marriott properties in the area that are not "luxury" facilities. Kudos to the staff from the front desk, engineers and cleaning professionals. You DID NOT DISAPPOINT! POSITIVES: 1) Walking distance to Luge's Italian, McAlesters, Sushi and a Starbucks. 2) Staff as noted above. 3) convenience to highway and other restaurants like Stella's Cafe, Gringos, Cooper's, Walk-On's and Saltgrass. May be back next July. Marriott you need to look over your facilities nationwide. My travels reveal a similar trend to those noted on the review in locations across TX, OK, WY, KY, WV, VA, SD, NE and MO.

The floor in 232 was very unlevel. The a/c made a "knocking" noise all night. Their site says this property was recently renovated. Apparently, they did not mean the 2nd floor.
