However, This Courtyard needs to be updated and soon. I have stayed here during multiple industrial Fire schools and the last time was great. However there were plenty of facility issues. All of our team stayed here and each noted odd odors like moldy. wet dog smells I their rooms and I had the same issue. Engineering cleans my AC and the odor improved, but never vacated fully. Hallways smelled fabulous, but our 6 rooms were earthy at best. Many of us had internet connection issues on the room TVs. Most were corrected by the second day. In my case the engineers were in my room (152) for 1.75 hours working on hardware and conversing with IT. The unit functioned when they left and failed again within minutes. As stated, the second the TV issues were corrected . Some room bathroom tubs and thresholds need replaced or repaired. Tubs have caulking missing, etc. some staff noted that planned renovations are pushed due to the frequent in flux of patrons due schools, camps concerts, sporting events and others. Issues noted here are also present at all the Marriott properties in the area that are not "luxury" facilities. Kudos to the staff from the front desk, engineers and cleaning professionals. You DID NOT DISAPPOINT! POSITIVES: 1) Walking distance to Luge's Italian, McAlesters, Sushi and a Starbucks. 2) Staff as noted above. 3) convenience to highway and other restaurants like Stella's Cafe, Gringos, Cooper's, Walk-On's and Saltgrass. May be back next July. Marriott you need to look over your facilities nationwide. My travels reveal a similar trend to those noted on the review in locations across TX, OK, WY, KY, WV, VA, SD, NE and MO.

In my first room, the valve handle for the tub/shower spun 360 degrees. Makes you wonder when the room was cleaned last??? Packed up everything to move to another room. The floor in 232 was very unlevel. The a/c made a "knocking" noise all night. Their site says this property was recently renovated. Apparently, they did not mean the 2nd floor.

Also had a bar/grill with limited hours. Location is great and convenient to have the Loves in the same lot. Note: the breakfast on Monday morning was just reheated breakfast from the previous day (everything was badly dried out). Pet friendly was a huge plus! It was easy to take my dog out the side door too. My room had a dirty ceiling (didn't notice until I woke up) and there were lots of black hairs in my shower. But besides that it was a very clean hotel. They have early check in and late check out which is also amazing! I will definitely be back to stay again when I'm there.

BEWARE guest's like the review of the couple with dogs this little boy needs to be working somewhere he is not having to communicate with customers. This is an...interesting place…read more My mother and I stayed here for an overnight as my dad was in the hospital, which is less than a block away. I called this "Your Aunt's House", meaning when you're on a road trip and you have to stay at your aunt's house, this would be that place. Furniture is a bit mismatched and older (think 70s and 80s), and the curtains and carpet have seen better days. However, it had everything that we needed (including dishes, pots, towels, etc) for our stay. The price is certainly a blessing. We got two adjoining rooms (two bedrooms, two bathrooms, one kitchenette and one living area) for $110 for one night; you'd be hard pressed to find that same amount of square footage for a better rate at a chain hotel. Between these two rooms there were two double beds, a rollaway bed and a couch, so we could have probably crammed as many as five or six in this room. The beds and couch aren't the most comfortable, so I probably wouldn't push it, though. TVs in the both rooms featured cable channels and WiFi was available. The lady that checked us in was helpful and efficient, so no complaints there. The place is what it is, and if I found myself in the position of having a loved one in the next door hospital for an overnight, I wouldn't think twice about staying here again.

The staff were kind and helpful. I had a late work night at one of the wedding venues in the area and I was late checking out about 30 minutes or so. The office was very understanding.

At that time, we rented a smaller cabin. This time we're in a 6 seater with a master bed in a room, a cozy upstairs loft, and a futon in the living room. This one advertises to accommodate 6, and it will. Pete and Lynn are great, they make sure you're comfortable, but as the previous reviewer stated, they're not nosy. They even keep movies on hand for folks to watch in their cabins, which our 4 year old much appreciated. This place has changed quite a bit in the 12 years since we were last here, but it seems to have only gotten better. It's off the beaten path, phone service works but is spotty at times...but it's Frankston, not Plano, so you should expect that going forward. The cabins are clean, well maintained, ours had a coffee pot, electric range/oven, two window units, two space heaters, a small TV and a VCR/DVD player. If you like East Texas, and you're a lake person, and you like fishing, etc. you'll love this place. We do. Just don't book it when we wanna book it.

Very secluded and off-the-beaten-path on Lake Palestine. The Cabin was extremely clean. We found one little problem that seemed to have been 'hidden' by a previous renter but Pete had it cleaned up in 30 seconds. He and Lynn were very helpful when needed but not nosy. There are 6-7 cabins of various luxury/size for rent as well as a few RV sites. 2 cabins have lake views but everything is close as the park is not large. Most of the cabins have a fenced dog run attached. They also supply towels to dry your dog if it decides to go swimming! There's a boat ramp and a pier/dock. Lots of shade. Picnic area, 'pet' horses, 'campfire ring', volleyball net, horseshoe pitch. The stars at night are breathtaking! As is sunrise over the lake!There's also a dog agility training place about 7 minutes away. Near to Tyler, Athens and Palestine. Pros: Perfect for folks traveling with pets. Very secluded. close to nature. great for fishermen. Good for families that like rustic accommodations. Good for small family reunions or couples traveling together.(a couple of the cabins have a shared wall or porch) Cons: very rustic, gravel/dirt roads could be dusty or muddy. No wifi (free wifi at Dairy Queen 5 miles away) If you like the seclusion of camping or like traveling with your dog but need a TV and shower and a kitchen - this is a great place!
