I have decided I like extended stay hotels because of the full kitchen. You might not use it, buts it's there! This Candlewood Suites is under new ownership, and they have done some remodeling. Our room was very nice. We got the 2 room suite which is nice. Glenda and I like different tv shows, so 2 tvs is nice! Beds and A/C were perfect, so a nice stay. We stayed here on a trip to help our daughter and granddaughter move. We chose Candlewood Suites because 1) It is pet friendly, and cats had to move with our daughter; and, 2) Hubby and I could sleep in the bedroom and leave them and their cats in the living room. Our room was fine, if small. It did include a small desk against the wall. The bed was comfortable. I don't like those window HVAC units; they just make everything feel damp. And, as another reviewer mentioned, there's a little bit of a funky smell. Daughter and granddaughter complained that the sofa bed was uncomfortable, which I think is typical of sofa beds. The pets were fine. The bathroom was clean and well supplied, with Watkins brand shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Similarly, the hand soap was by Watkins. I probably would not return, unless traveling with a pet required it. $114 for 3 adults, one child, plus $25 pet fee. read more

After a 10 hour day in our car, the only thing on one's mind is to get to their hotel room to rest. Unfortunately, we found the room to be a hot mess. Especially the bathroom. The pictures just don't do it justice. The bathtub was cringe worthy brown under what once was painted over. There was hair clippings all over the floor and borders. read more

Great place to lay your head for the night! Super clean and kept up! Very impressed with the hotel for the price point! They don't offer breakfast or a pool but they do loan small appliances ( crockpots, coffee pots, blenders, etc.) by the front desk! read more

I've stayed at a few places in Tyler (Studio 6 and Magnuson) while waiting for our house to finish building. I wouldn't recommend the other places to anyone. Candlewood is by far the most comfortable of the three. The lobby is clean. Check in was very easy. Front desk was helpful. Laundry room and fitness center available. Towels were clean and thick (not thin with stains). Sure, they don't provide all the hygiene products some hotels may provide but the rooms are well maintained. And most importantly, I did not feel dirty staying here (as I did at the other places). It was easier to settle in here. Having some trouble getting wifi from my room (cuts off once you exit the hallway and enter the room). The front desk was very helpful and assisted me in calling the internet provider to expedite a work ticket to fix the issue. If you are looking for a place to have an extended stay at a reasonable price, I would check this place out. read more

This is an extended stay type of hotel but you can get a great deal if you are coming in for the weekend! I always love booking a room at Candlewood because they are always clean, organized, and just an easy relaxed experience overall. Anything that takes the anxiety out of traveling I am a huge fan of. And this place does the trick. The gal at the front desk was super nice and informative in getting us squared away. They have a pantry where you can grab snacks, including water/coffee and even oatmeal and such to eat for breakfast. The rooms are spacious and they have a mini kitchen and fridge if you want to do a little cooking. Great stay here and I'll definitely be returning. Thanks for the east Texas hospitality! read more

Nicest hotel I've stayed in for work in a while. The pictures don't do it justice. Think it must've undergone some recent updating. The bathroom feels very clean, not even calcium deposits on fixtures. Granite countertops. New giant microwave. Flat screen tvs. Not everything is updated but it's much better than the pics look. Had the overwhelming housekeeping chemical spray smell so I opened the window and blasted the ac for an hour to clear that out. Very nice sized and room and great amenities. I was going to be checking in around 4 AM on the 4th so I made the reservation for the 3rd - 5th of March. When I got to the hotel, I was informed that they were sold out and they could not accommodate me at that moment, but I can come back at three and check in. Then the gentleman tells me that my reservation was on 4th-5th and I showed him my reservation confirmation email and he couldn't understand or explain why his said one thing and mine another. I had spent my points for the tonight about 35,000 points roughly so I had left and when I called that afternoon to make sure that my room is gonna be available when I got off work as soon as the lady on the phone heard my name, she said that I didn't show up for my reservation the night before. I told her I did. I actually showed up 10 minutes After the reservation was made. I explained to her that the gentleman printed me up a receipt stating that they had no availability at that moment everything come back later on then the lady tells me that they were booked up for the next two nights. I asked her about refunding my points she said I would have to contact IHG rewards when I asked if she had a number she said no. Also she did not inform me at that moment that my card had already been charged for incidentals Don't ask me how or why there were incidentals when they couldn't even accommodate me but behold, there was. so I have to wait another 7 to 14 days to have my points added back to my account plus the money back to my credit card and what amazes me the most is when talking to the IHG they had on there and that I didn't show up that's what they were charging me like they were doing their job. No I showed up they sent me away and they still she charged me. I do a lot of traveling and stay at hotels quite often, and I have never been disregarded and disrespected like that. I've been staying at a hotel with family for almost a month and wanted a night to myself. The lady did inform me of other hotels that I could try. Holiday Inn express, Holiday Inn Conference Center, and Staybridge. I told her we've been at one of those for almost a month which is why I booked at their hotel because it's part of the IHG family. read more

Rude staff at the front desk. I've travelled throughout Asia, Europe and North America and don't remember being treated so rudely at a hotel as at the Candlewood Suites in Tyler, TX. Even in cities known for their rudeness (NYC and Paris) I was treated better than here. Poor value for the nearly $100 paid for a room. read more

I stayed here for quit awhile and I had very good experience, the staff there are friendly and very helpful, I would stay here again if I ever stop by. They have a small jacuzzi which I use from time to time, nice and clean room, one thing is the room does have a bad smell but opening the window for fresh air will help. They clean the room 2 times a week since it's a suite hotel. read more

Surprisingly nice, clean, and well kept. I like Candlewood Suites because they have real suites (with separate bedroom), are generally clean, and aren't too expensive. I feel like they offer real value, and have a kind of an entrepreneurial vibe with all the items you can rent for free, the cupboard, etc. I've stayed in Candlewood's across the country, and this may be the best maintained and cleanest Candlewood I've ever stayed in. We spent 1 week at this hotel. From check in to check out they were excellent. Very accommodating in every way. There rooms were very clean and had everything we needed. I loved the candlewood pantry. Prices were very good and the convince was soooo appreciated. Very fair prices and great place to stay.
