Sal is so generous with advice and service it makes you wonder why he calls it "Budget." Yes, his pricing is very low. But he makes you feel like you are spending big money. He came to our place after our front door lock stopped working, met us in 20 minutes and had it fixed in 10. Then he asked if we wanted some advice on locks and locksets as we had just moved in. I accidentally left my keys in my front door (was moving some stuff) and when I remembered and went back, somebody had snatched them up. I have a wife and 2 young girls at home so this caused a significant amount of anxiety - that some literal thief (who was willing to swipe our keys) was walking around with keys to our home. Called Sal at 630PM, told him my situation and he literally showed up 45 minutes later wearing a N-95 mask and rekeyed my lock (and even repaired a broken spring free of charge) and made 5 new keys for me for a very reasonable rate. I had called around prior and his pricing was very competitive. This guy has 35 years of experience and he is apparently on call 24/7. He clearly continues to work because he simply loves what he does. He's straight-forward, honest, and is just a really nice guy. Sal was great! I initially called on a Friday afternoon. Had to replace a digital lock on one of your office doors. The original company has been unresponsive for weeks so we were really in a bind and had no way to get into the building since the lock was completely dead. Sal was able to order a new lock at a great rate and we went from locked out to back in business in less than a week. He didn't charge any weird last minute fees or markups and even helped out our neighbor who had just happened to lock herself out of the building next door. Well, for the first time ever, I accidentally locked myself out of my primary bedroom. I had a key (or 3 or 4) for every other lock on my property except this door. I don't think I've ever actually locked my bedroom door. I called Budget Locksmith and Sal came out in less than 30 minutes and got to work on what should have been an easy unlock - except that the plastic innards of the lock had degraded after decades of non use. The cheap parts inside simply fell apart making it impossible to unlock in the normal way. We ended up drilling out the entire old lock to finally get at the latch and into the bedroom. The price was more than fair given that it was around 8 pm and he ended up doing more work than had been anticipated. I'm really pleased with the fast service and work done. As recommended, I'll buy a simple pass-through non-locking knob to replace the old mess. read more
