I got one of his techs who changed the batteries and did no electrical testing. maybe I was shorting? I replaced batts three weeks later. Now not working and he won't pick up the phone. Go somewhere else. This is a silly waste of time. He told me to call Schlage and work through it myself. I hope he is ok. He told me he sold the business and retired. Scammers Don't call this place. They told be it's wound be $85 to pick the lock at my apartment. He arrived and said oh no we can't pick that lock we have to drill it open. It's a basic apartment door lock. So he drilled the lock open and now I'm left with no locks. I asked him several times how much is this going to be and he kept telling me don't worry you can deduct from your rent. $85 turned into $350 for two $13 locks. This is one of those times in Los Angeles where we all know there are dishonest and opportunistic people all around us but when you get scammed by one of them you're like really? Great service, friendly. Arrived relatively quickly...about 45mins. Pricing is tiered, depending on the complexity of your lock. The more pins you lock has, the more service is expensive. My lock was a pretty standard five pin and it cost $250. I found the price to, be a bit steep, but it appears $250 is the going rate. I've had the same lock opened by a different express locksmith service for $150, but sadly couldn't find their number. read more

I honestly feel like I was ripped off here; I came to get a spare key cut ($45) for my car which doesn't start the car. In a way it is my fault, I did not have the car, I was a walk in (support local businesses!) So I did not try the new key until the next day. It turns in the lock but doesn't start the car. So I went back to see Ezra the owner and man who cut the key only to be told I need a chip and to have it programmed. This would have been handy information to have had before the $45 charge but this is whare I start to fell ripped off; why was this not mentioned? Naturally, Ezra wanted to be of no further help, worse, he used the key to show me that it would lock the doors. Now locked, he could not unlock them; he tried a few times and told me it was the car's fault and I should go to the dealership. With all the doors locked and windows open he said it was too much trouble, he had an appointment and left me there, stranded. Thankfully, his very nice assistant Hector thought to use my original key in the ignition and when the car started the doors unlocked. Thank you Hector, but no thank you Ezra, who was garrulous and unhelpful once he was paid-for a key that doesn't actually start the car. Plenty of other locksmiths in walking distance thankfully, no need to use this one. read more

Called on day 1 - and they said "sure no prob we will be there at 730pm". I made sure to leave early enough to arrive on time. Waited for an hour, then called and they said "oh sorry, ya, we cant make it tonight, we will call you tomorrow".. OK I said. Tomorrow came, and no call. Waited until mid-morning and called, and they said "ya sure, we will call you back, can come today before 6pm"... OK I said. Lunch came, and figured I would call since they had not called back to confirm. They said "oh well there is absolutely no way we can make it out there today!" (by the way, this is the same person all 3 times) At this point I wasted time. The lock that I need to get into is urgent, and I explained this on the very first call. An old gentleman came very late than scheduled time ( he is the one answered the phone) . Overcharged for the cost of lock, saying the lock only came one key, charged me for the second key, but he came with the lock without packaging, so I wouldn't know how many keys in the original package. Because I didn't ask the cost of the lock ahead time, so end up had paid. I believe that he does this to women a lot. read more

The reviews were not kidding. This review is regarding an encounter last week. I don't know what his name is and I think it would be better off if I didn't at this point. The man at the front, quite possibly the owner, was extremely rude, unprofessional, and nasty. Never in my life have I been treated so horribly by someone I don't know. I was told to pick up keys from my HOA property manager for my new condo. I called in advance to inform this express locksmith owner that I was coming to pick the key up. He told me to come in 3 hours, from the time I called. When I ultimately get there, the owner did not have the key ready and asked me what I wanted. I informed him that I was the one who had called 3 hours earlier and had asked to pick up my key. He begins to become extremely unprofessional and condescending, and angrily accuses me of not having any keys and asks me why my HOA property manager hasn't given me any keys. I am confused and inform him I had been told by my HOA property manager to pick up the keys from him. He then takes a few steps into a little corner and flips papers for 15 minutes. As I am standing there, waiting for him. Then, he calls someone--quite possibly my HOA property manager? After he hangs up, he does not say a word and continues to flip papers. At this point, I still do not know whether or not I am going to be getting my keys. My patience is surely being tested at this point (also, I am the only customer at the shop, for about 20 minutes now... so what possibly could he be doing?...all I was there for was to pick up my keys so it should have been a quick in & out). I politely ask him how long it will take, because I can come back. He then angrily snaps at me and says "give me 2 minutes!" Slowly, he gets up, and then starts accusing me again of arriving without any keys and asks why I hadn't I been in contact or coordinating with my HOA property manager sooner. I inform him I had been in contact with this property manager for several weeks, ever since I had been in escrow, and that it wasn't until today she informed me to pick up the key from him. When I am about to pay for the key, he then tells me that his internet/system is down so I can't use my credit or debit card to pay, and that I must go to the ATM next door to pay for each key $25 in cash. Long story short, please avoid at all costs. I felt so upset when I left this place. Why was he trying to pick a fight at everything I said? Why was he so nasty to me, when I give others the benefit of the doubt and treat others the way I want to be treated myself? I truly wish the property I purchased my condo did not use his services. I wish he was kinder to others. I wish he treated others with more compassion and empathy. He was the complete opposite of that. P.S. No mask was utilized by this owner/staff member... safety did not seem like a priority. I completely understand waiting longer than usual given COVID, but face coverings are mandatory in public areas, period. read more

After 15mins, I got back, he just sat there and still havn't prepare the key for me... he slowly turned on the computer, look it up... why didn't he do this while i was getting my wallet? so I have to wait extra time for him checking info & make the key.. that's fine But when he charged me, he said $25. But the email on my hand said the key supposed to be $20, so I questioned him wasn't it $20? Then his reply was, If it is $20, I will charge you $20, it's 25, so I charged u $25 okay?! with an attitude. I'm like "Wow! is just a question, why do u talk to me like that?" SUPER RUDE I called in to make sure they cut Mul-T-Lock keys, not many places do. They were listed as one of the resellers/dealers on Mul-T-Lock website. I even gave them the specific key number. He said yes they cut it, and they have that key but the guy who cuts the key wouldn't be there for another two hours. I waited and then drove 45 minutes out to him. At first he was flirting with another woman, when I got his attention, I asked him to make the duplicate of my key, and he told me no they don't have that key. I explained to him I asked him clearly over the phone and they said they did, and that I drove 45 minutes in traffic to him. His reply was "Well, you're going to have to drive some more." I have never used this shop before. I have a security key for my condo that I needed a copy of and this is the only shop locally that can make them. I was told by the person on the phone that my HOA association had to email they an approval before they can make the key. (Never had to do that before) I ask the simple question: "what is your email address?". He tells me their website address. I said "that's not an email address, it's a website address". He tells me he will mail me a card with the info. Mail me a card? Really? Then he says he will text me a picture. I wait...and wait...and wait. Nothing. I call back. He says "it takes several minutes to send". Really? Several minutes to send a text? Is this 1998? The whole call was ridiculous. Now I have to go to a key shop in the Valley to get it made.
