I would not have been able to complete my outdoor projects this year without Budget Lumber- Literally the only place in Southern Oregon with 2x12x14 cedar (for like $4 a foot!) and a great price for 4x4 cedar posts as well. Horrible customer services. Came in to get some wood for a project and get a materials cost for 150ft of wood for a cedar fence. The guy helping me acted like it was a huge deal to get a quote and when we went to get the wood, wouldn't let me check the wood I was purchasing. He stated this is not grade A lumber you get what you get. I understand this but if I am purchasing something, I don't want wood split in half from cracks and rotten wood as seen in the picture. Half the wood I purchased was rotten in the middle and can't be used. I won't be purchasing my fencing materials from them and will not be back for any of my future home remodel needs from them. Had we had a better encounter I would have been a loyal customer for years to come, very unfortunate. I would find another place to get your wood from. read more

Wow, my husband stopped by looking for cedar boards. The man at the counter was shockingly rude. He was quite upset that my husband asked to see the boards before purchasing. Thats fine if he wants a "no picking your own boards" policy, but at least he could have informed us politely. Honestly I feel bad for the man, seems like he hates life. read more

TERRIBLE customer service!!! I even started by telling them I don't know a lot about wood and needed some guidance. Honestly, had they been helpful, they would've had a customer for life!! The person helping me was rude and impatient and made me feel like my questions were totally stupid!! I would NEVER go back to this store just to be humiliated!! Unfortunately, customer service has never been a strong point with this company. My wife and I visited recently and although they had a "mask required" sign posted at the entrance, neither employee was wearing one. When my wife mentioned this, one of them said he thought it was alot of "hype". Then when he picked out a treated post for us and I said it was warped, he promptly told me they don't dicker about posts, or something to that effect. He picked out another one(apparently the customer can't choose their own) and although it was only slightly better, I figured we might as well take it. No "thanks for coming in" or any response at all. Very, very poor to non-existent customer service. We would only go back if we could not find the posts at Lowes or Home Depot. BL in Medford Or. The people that own this store are so rude, their customer service is awful. You walk in the door and they just stare at you not saying a word to u. They have NO signs all over the place. No animals - as their cat lays on the counter, No checks, No returns. They act put off to help you with anything. I ordered some cabinet doors and didn't know to tell him which side to put the holes on for the French hinge. He didn't ask either - isn't that his job - but they don't accept returns so he had a 50/50 chance of having a repeat order, very underhanded. The holes were on the wrong side of course but I just threw them away and did something else. All they want from us is to walk in the door, give them our money and leave. They should not be in business with attitudes like they have. Haven't been back. read more

Buyer beware. We placed an order and had it delivered. They literally dropped the load off the back of the delivery truck. Several pieces fractured from the 5 foot drop. We had to return 7 of the 19 pieces delivered as they were either cracked or rotted. One piece was so bad that I broke off a chunk with my fingers, placed it between my palms and it turned to dust when I rubbed my hands together. When we took it back they said their lumber was construction grade and all looked the same. When we went to look, everything we saw looked much better that the junk they delivered. They DO NOT want to do cuts. We needed a piece of redwood cut down.....one cut. When they did the cut, it was 6 inches shorter than we instructed. Right in front of me, the employee told his coworker, "we are losing money on this one". The coworker replied "you should f---ing tell them to they have to keep it". They would not sell another piece when though they had several piles of redwood. If you are a contractor and want crap, go here. If you are a consumer, STAY AWAY! Also, when they returned the broken product, they did not return the full value. read more

Just looking for a few quality boards that matched and put everything back as it was we arrived. Waste of time go some where else for for good service. Looking for really rude service, look no further. I found it on the afternoon of 12/18/17. Wanted 3 fence boards for repairs. I started to sort through a few boards on an open pallet (first board had a split, second board had missing knot hole), was then told by rep that I couldn't sort through the boards, all boards were the same, just grab 3. Explained my repairs would be very visible and just wanted 3 boards without splits or missing knotholes. He repeated every board was the same (NOT!) and I couldn't be sorting through every board just to find the ones I wanted. I ignored him and found 3 reasonable boards anyway. I will return to Budget Lumber when they are the last remaining lumber yard in southern Oregon. Until then, buh-bye. read more

I have always gone to Jacksonville Lumber because it was walking distance from my home. But they (the daughter that inherited it) went out of business in March 2017, so the last independent lumber yard in the Jville area is Budget Lumber. I went in last week for treated 2x4s and plywood. I paid for my purchase and turned around and the wood was already in my truck. Great prices, you do business directly with the proprietor, and if it's in stock you are in and out in minutes. I've been back twice and service has been the same. Only drawback is that it's too far to walk when all I need are a couple of T-nuts. read more
