So, I want to take a few minutes to genuinely appreciate the staff at the Enterprise car rental in Springfield, VA. We had a surprisingly great experience overall, including working through an unexpected issue. The staff were professional, friendly and great to work with when we picked up our vehicle. There was also a genuine mistake on our rental agreement that no one caught, and not even I saw it until I was getting ready to return the vehicle. I brought it up to the staff, who were very patient, looked into it, and then put me in touch with the branch manager. I was absolutely in a position to be totally screwed over, but instead the branch manager took the time to look into it, speak with me, and at the end of the day - he corrected it and did right by me! Thank you Nathanael (Nate) and team for going above and beyond, and doing right by me! It's easy to give five stars when things are smooth and go as planned. But it's truly a remarkable five stars when hiccups happen, and the customer still walks away going wow- these are some professional hard working folks trying to do their best and doing a great job. However, I was told I could not test drive the car unless I first completed a credit application, allowed my credit to be run, and financed through Hertz Financial -- despite already being pre-qualified with my own credit union. The explanation given was that they "don't want just anyone test driving certain cars," which was surprising and disappointing, especially after being invited to visit. As a serious buyer who had already secured financing, the requirement felt unnecessary and highly unprofessional. I was genuinely floored by the experience. For this to come from a national company made it even more shocking. Lesson learned.
