The guy at the front desk looked like he couldn't figure out how to "unlock" the system and was clearly struggling.. it seemed that he couldn't get in because he didn't have the password which tells me he probably wasn't never authorized to use the actual system. Then upon arrival and return, I asked if I need to do anything else at this point and if there were any extra charges , they said no as they sat in the truck texting away, was told i can be in my way and that they'll email me receipt. When I received the receipt they charged me double my original cost citing a $30 refil charge + $8 gas charge, mind that I drove 5 blocks in one direction and 5 blocks back to the rental given that I moved from one building in my development complex to another, meaning I never left the parking lot. When I finally called them to try and rectify the situation , they didn't want to speak to me and basically told me sorry , tough luck... do NOT rent from this place , ran by a bunch of hoodlums

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. I never write negative reviews - but this was most god awful…read moreservice I've ever experienced. We had a van reservation for 11 AM, the kid at the desk gave us grief for an hour about us "not having the car number and a 4 digit pin" EVEN THOUGH we had our confirmation email and number. After continuously asking to talk to a boss or manager the kid would say "someone will be here in 10 minutes" and no one ever showed up. I called U-Haul customer service where they pulled up my reservation no problem and he said that there was no such thing as a 4 digit pin - but that the location had one van that hadn't been returned yesterday so they were most likely stalling and making us jump through hoops for an hour knowing they didn't have a van. We eventually called a rental place on 28 90 Shell Rd where they were able to look up our U-Haul reservation and transfer it over to them, saying that this place was always a disaster. 1.5 hours later we were able to get our van in Coney Island. This is not the time to be screwing over your customers, go to the Coney Island place instead. Or literally any other place, really.

Wow!!! Uhaul at Bay Street provides only top notch customer…read moreservice!!! Andrew and Devon were both very helpful and gave me the best sized uhaul for what I needed. I had to move a couch with 2 long pieces and these guys just made the whole process a breeze. Customer service at it's finest!! Thank you men, for your friendly help and great direction! Definitely check these guys out for the best customer care around!

PROS: decently priced U-hauls…read more CONS: picked up my U-haul in VA, returned it in NY. Took 30 minutes to 'drop it off' to return. The guy working, "manager".. was hooking up someone's trailer hitch for 30 minutes. 2 or 3 other customers waiting for his service. Terrible service. never again.
