Connivence you pay for. The deli seems to be where they make their money as they items there are fairly expensive. Usually you think buying fresh premade products might save you a little money instead of buying packaged but it seems like it's the reverse. The drink fridge and bagels are reasonably priced but I find the deli items are way more expensive than back home and I might find myself just going to Wawa to get a reasonably priced sandwich. read more

Came here for grated cheese on a Friday evening around 7pm. Place was not busy. There was a selection of brands and sizes of cheese much needed for the pasta dish I was making. I was impressed. I'm thankful that Buds is in the area. It's really nice having this market here in a pinch. Yeah the prices are higher than Acme but let's face it- you're paying for the convenience. I ran out to grab a green pepper and an onion and picked up some cute nostalgic marshmallow mini ice-cream cones. They have everything you need that you may have forgotten if you're not hip to getting in the car fighting your way in traffic at 96th street just take a walk to Bud's! I'm personally not wealthy enough to grab a week's worth of groceries here, but I've gone a couple times for little things. The help is polite too! Thanks for serving our families Bud! The good news: A very clean, well kept grab 'n go for grocery items. The bad news: prepared foods ,sandwiches etc.are fairly priced but highly portion controlled. I'd rather pay more and get a sandwich with some content. It's also evident in the coffee. The weakest coffee I've ever had. Brown water. The people behind the deli counter aren't the friendliest. Breakfast sandwiches must be purchased as they make them. Don't ask for substitutions etc. You will be reprimanded. Have it your way, does not apply at breakfast. Groceries, sure. Bud's Market is a good place to pick up some groceries in Stone Harbor since there aren't any other major supermarkets. This is the shore, so don't come expecting to find the same prices from your local grocery store here. They'll have what you need. Fresh produce, good deli, nice rolls, etc. It's almost everyone's go to place for whatever they need. They remodeled since Bud and his wife died and the family sold the place. I was disappointed to see they took down the painting of Bud from behind the deli. I felt they should have kept it up in homage to the man that started it all. read more

This is my second review of Buds. This store is very convenient for when you don't want to drive off the island for groceries...but you pay for it. Outstanding breakfast sandwiches and their hoagies are the best on the island, in my opinion. Excellent cheesesteaks, as well. My only gripe is the two women behind the deli counter. No friendliness whatsoever when you are ordering. They act as if you are inconveniencing them for being there. I'm really hoping the owner reads this review and says something to them. read more

Nice market! Didn't have garlic or flat leaf parsley, but they had scallions and lots of lemons and other veggies. Lots of upscale packaged and some prepared foods. Glad to know about the market! read more

If you need something in a pinch ... they have it. Butcher is amazing. Everything is fresh and a huge selection. Pretty much you can find everything in here ... only problem is you need to refinance your home to shop here. Triple the regular prices in Acme. read more

The store is clean and has high quality products. The sandwiches are absolutely delicious. Of course it's expensive, but that's expected. Store owners have 12 weeks to make their money for the year so I never mind paying for products at the shore. However, the customer service here is absolutely horrendous. Case in point, earlier today, I picked up a sandwich order that we had place via phone. Unfortunately, since it is the end of summer, they did not have the ingredients to make one of our sandwiches. I was not told this over the phone but rather we told when we picked up the order. No problem, we figured we would grab a different type of sandwich. When I asked what they were able to make, the woman behind rudely responded "jeez, what, do we have to pull teeth with all of these people today?" Completely rude to a patron. I've worked at shore businesses including food businesses for my entire high school, college and graduate school years. I've seen my share of rude customers so I always make extra effort to be nice to workers. It's a tough job but this woman's attitude is totally unacceptable. I hope the owner reads this review and perhaps takes some steps to correct the issue. read more

Yes it's a pricey market but it is is so convenient for all the stuff you forgot to get on the mainland. It's clean and has a decent variety for a store their size. Occasionally the run out if stiff like water but do have some organic options as well a a good selection of produce. read more

Just love being able to walk to this grocery store. They have high quality meats, prepared salads, cheeses, crackers and produce. Everything I want,they have! I enjoyed the experience so much I never looked at the prices. Just happy to avoid an Acme shopping trip. There was the same man there everyday stocking shelves and taking care of business. Making sure it all ran properly. The check out girls could have been more personable. It was almost like they didn't know how to interact with adults or anyone who was not a Facebook friend. Interesting to see how things have changed since I was that age working at the shore. read more

Ok. This is the first review I've ever written. For real. I felt so completely compelled. I know that this sounds obnoxious but I have lived down here every summer of my life (for the record, I'm a teacher). So, with that said, I fully understand the ridiculous prices that come with being a captive audience in Stone Harbor. I always expect to get gouged when I happen to forget something at acme and "run to buds for a few things" but seriously today went to a new level. Alright... my bad for being hungover and not reading the sign... but I seriously just got charged $5.99 for 12 ounce iced coffees?!?! That's worse than Starbucks! Or Starbucks in New York that also teleports you to the moon for your post coffee poo! For real, Buds?! I appreciate your fancy draught coffee concept, but seriously, get a grip. Also, OJ, 4 bagels, 3 iced coffees, scrapple and some weird stuffed pepper shooters for $46 is not normal anywhere. I shan't be returning. I've sworn it for years.. But for real this time. Buds is the worst. If negative stars were an option, Mr. or Mrs. Bud would be the recipient of my first and only. read more
