There is really nothing bad to say about Buen Apetito! The restaurant is a little off the beaten path and honestly not marked well. There is no indication that the adorable building is a restaurant at all - no signage indicating such. Once inside, the restaurant is clean and the aromas are amazing!!! The first telltale sign of good Mexican, to me, is the salsa. In this case, I wasn't sure our experience would go one way or the other. The salsa was completely edible, but not exciting. However, our food arrived and we were astonished at the quality and freshness of the ingredients and the perfect preparation! I ordered the pechugas, and I have NEVER had such delicious chicken in my life. My plate had 2 thinly sliced, tender chicken breasts, a salad, fresh refried beans, and rice for $8.50! My husband and I ordered a hearty appetizer (panchos), 2 entrees, and drinks, took home leftovers, and our bill totaled less than $31. Our server was sweet and attentive throughout our dining experience and we heard her give our compliments to the chef. We are in the area a few times a year and will definitely be returning. Restaurant review I may have found my favorite Mexican restaurant in Danville. Not only because of the price but they also make a excellent chimichanga. As you look on the menu pages you can see that their prices are back from the 1980s. The chimichanga lunch special was only five dollars and is enough food for dinner. Unlike El Toro which makes a very cheap chimichanga this is an authentic one. They have a good sized burrito that's wrapped in deep-fried and layered with cheese. Also you get a generous helping of refried beans and rice. Because it's so cheap I tip 50% every single time. The chips unfortunately are nothing special in the salsa is quite watery. Just not that good for something hard to not be good We had queso fundidio (very greasy and tons of meat with a bit of cheese), crispy taco lunch (again, tons of meat with a little lettuce and about three shreds of cheese and three small tomato diced bits), kids quesadilla, and chicken fajitas (okay). Fajitas were seasoned well and tasted great. Excellent corn tortillas. Menu wasn't terribly exhaustive, but that's a good thing - Mexican food menus can be overwhelming with choice. Went here on a weekday and only 6 other people dining here at dinner time. Coming through the front door we immediately noticed their air conditioning wasn't working. No big deal, that happens so we opted to sit outside. They have a nice deck with a country view. Then came the food. I would have preferred salsa straight from a jar instead as what I was served was tomato paste with a little water added along with stale chips. All the food we ordered was very bland. I personally ordered a shredded chicken burrito covered in cheese sauce and that's what was served, plain unseasoned shredded chicken wrapped in soft burrito that was drowning in cheese in an attempt to add flavor. read more

My husband and I eat here regularly and we often bring friends here too. They like the place as much as we do! It's family owned and run. We always always enjoy what we order and we try different things. The Chile rellenos are the best in town. Their chicken quesadillas, tacos de pastor, burritos are all yummy. The owners and servers always have friendly attitudes and sometimes their accents and language barriers make it hard to know their hearts but they are so friendly and caring people. They always ask about our family and the little ones if we come with out them. The owner is personable and always eager to say hello! We consider them friends after getting to know them through out the years while eating there. read more

Buen Apetito is a taco and burrito place in a nice, high-ceilinged room done in southwestern decor. The prices are reasonable and the food is consistent (if not exceptional). This is your standard menu of tacos, burritos, enchiladas, tamales, fajitas and quesadillas. You won't be disappointed by anything, but you probably won't be wowed either. There are some standouts, and those mostly have to do with sauces: the huasteco sauce, verde sauce and mole sauce are all exceptionally good and I'm enthusiastic about the entrees that are topped with those. What a joke of a restaurant and owner. I would give negative stars if possible. We asked the waitress to weigh some fries for my type 1 diabetic nephew so we would know what to enter for his insulin and the owner actually came to our table to tell us we need to educate ourselves on how to feed a diabetic child. Also mentioned that he feels bad for my nephew because he never weighs his food as a type 2 diabetic so neither should that child. Type 1 and type 2 diabetes are not the same. Then my sister said "don't tell me how to raise my son, I'm leaving," he stood in her way and waved his finger "no you need educated." She continued to get out of the booth and my husband said "no we just needed the food weighed." And he continued to state "no you need an education."  He also mentioned that he felt bad for the child for having a mom like her. All of this from the owner. Not a waiter. Not a cook. Not even a manager. THE OWNER, who came to our table for no reason. Side note, the waitress was nice and apologized for his actions as we were leaving. read more

You call this Mexican?! It must be the limited selection in Danville. The salsa is from a can or jar, not fresh. They don't have staple dishes like Arroz con Pollo. What Mexican place doesn't have Arroz con Pollo. I ordered a quesadilla de carne asada. Portions were small. No flavor to the rice. Beans were luke warm. Fresh guacamole, salsa has a"tinny" taste. Fast friendly service. Had pick 3, can choose meat in taco& burrito, not just the same old ground beef like many places. Omg I love Mexican food and I went here today and it was all wrong!!!!!! First off the waiter was rude, my food was over cooked burnt must I say I ask to talk to a manager the worker said why?
