Our son started at the Ventura center when he was 7mo old and is now 15mo. Each of the teachers we've met and center leadership have all been spectacular to work with, nothing but great feedback to give. Since our initial tour visit when we were expecting, we saw so many kids interacting with their teachers as they were leaving for the day with so much love and enthusiasm. From the Infant A room; Ms. Sheryl, Ms. Megan and Ms. Davina all gave our son such a great environment to develop his initial skills, independent play time, group play and developed friendships with some of the other kids. They were all so mindful of his individual likes and difficulties, we knew we could always ask questions and get great feedback on how to better align our home activities with skills in the classroom. Through the Infant B room, Ms. Sara was a huge help to get him through his milestones until he was ready to move on to the Toddler room. I love seeing all the teachers for the little ones work well together and shift between rooms depending on where they needed more coverage. We understand this age is difficult and would regularly see Ms Alice or Ms Shawn jump in where needed and were always so passionate about the kids and keeping everyone safe. Now that he is in the Toddler room, we have seen a huge leap in his sign language skills, motor skills, object identification and eating abilities....even learning how to throw away his plate and cleaning up after himself. A huge shout out to Ms Cheryl in this class, she welcomes him every morning with such a huge smile, greeting and excitement for the day. Even when he is sad to see Mom and Dad leave, she's quick to get him smiling and sometimes even sends pictures showing what a happy boy he is shortly after. Each of the teachers in this room have been amazing and regularly see pictures of them playing with the kids and great interactions with them all when we pick him up early, Ms. Frida, Ms. Kaileia and Ms. Davina are all fantastic. I'm sure there are other teachers that have helped our son along the way but wanted to give a big shout out especially to these staff members that we've interacted with regularly. The center also coordinates fun activities for parents to join and play with their kids - a summer foam party, trunk or treat, ice cream party and valentine's day parties. Of course the kids have fun classroom events throughout the year and celebrate birthdays and holidays together. All parents get nervous dropping off their kids to a daycare but we have always gotten so much relief knowing he is in great hands with caring teachers and always comes home happy with new skills learned everyday. This is the worst tour/ experience I have ever had visiting a children's learning institution. Every person I interacted with had a nasty disposition in the sense that they did not want to be there (at work). Most of the teachers looked exhausted and the student to teacher ratio was laughable at how many kids they stuck with those teachers. For any children that have any disabilities I highly suggest looking elsewhere. The lead kept making excuses to step away to go sneak into her bosses office to gossip/decide if my child was something they wanted to take on and deal with. It left me angry for my little one and disgusted that these are the people parents are choosing to leave their children with, the good lord only knows what happens when no one is around. Also the play area in the back is a joke. Childcare is super expensive no matter where you choose to enroll. But the playground leaves more to be desired and is old and makes you wonder why would I pay so much to invest in my kiddo coming here when they obviously aren't investing the money back into the kids. Long story short if I could give them 0 stars I would, and I implore any parent thinking of sending their child here; disabilities or otherwise to keep your options open. There are tons of great schools in the area, and this is the honest review more people need to know about. Not the fake 4/5 star service reviews that clearly were not demonstrated on this day. Our family has been with Kindercare for 2.5 years, since my now three-year old was 7 months old. We now have two children at Kindercare, in the preschool and infant programs. The staff at Kindercare have become an extension of our family - the teachers at Kindercare and the genuine care they have for our children are what make it special. In the infant program, Ms. Megan is the sweetest angel caring for our babies and Ms. Cheryl dependably knows every baby's tricks. In toddlers, Ms. Frida feels like she's always been a part of our family and Ms. Cheryl is an embodiment of sunshine. Ms. Shani is so fun that my toddler can't wait to tell me about what she did each day. Ms. Kirstie pours so much love into our toddler and it's such a privilege to see their bond. Ms. Suzanne and Ms. Nikki have been so supportive of our toddler as she goes through potty training. Ms. Sheri is a spark of happiness that entertains all of the kids and Ms. Erica diligently looks out for each one and their wellbeing. Both my daughter and my son are enrolled at the kindercare in Ventura. I'm absolutely thankful for all the teachers that take care of them and just love them while their dad and I are at work. They keep me well informed throughout the day and Alice is always on top of all my concerns. The follow up that we get from her is very much appreciated and she treats my kids as if they were her own! She's always so nice, understanding, and just hears us out. Yelp I absolutely loved having my daughter attend pre-school & pre-k at KinderCare. We started our daughter there on March 1, 2020, just in time for the pandemic to take over and shut down the world. Our location was shut down temporarily & during the shut down KinderCare kept us informed weekly as well as provided online resources by email to teach and entertain our kids. They notified us immediately when they were ready to open our location up again. Throughout the pandemic, the center Director, Ms. Shawn, and Asst. Director, Mrs. Alyssa, have put the safety of everyone as a priority by remaining strict to daily health & temperature checks, mask usage and social distancing guidelines, yet continuing to be sensitive to the situation. All of the staff there are polite, personable, friendly, respectful, caring, smart & great at communication. The teachers are amazing. My daughter absolutely LOVED her Pre-K teachers, Ms. Erica and Ms. Kirstie. Both are admired by my daughter beyond belief. They have treated her as an extension of their family and made her feel safe and secure during a time when life has been at it's most unstable point for the entire world. Also, they have a great app where pictures and daily activities are recorded to keep you informed of what your child has done daily (communications from the center /teacher, nap schedule, snacks & food consumed, etc.). Their teaching skills & curriculum are above my expectations for a Pre-K program. In fact, after two weeks in Kindergarten our daughter is only one of a couple kids in the class who can write her full name, knows her alphabet and can count to almost 100. 4 minutes agoNEW Critical: Professionalism Went to pick up my son and saw they were napping. So i stayed back to peek in and what i saw was terrible. One of the teachers was yelling at my 2 year old to sit down. When he didnt sit down she walked up to him picked him up by squeezing his arms and slammed him on the nap pad. And he immediately started screaming from pain. Then her and another teacher said keep crying go ahead keep on crying. So i went back today to make my last payment and my son was in the car. We pulled up in the parking lot and my son started crying saying he was scared and didnt want to go to school. read more

This center has gone downhill. My child was not stimulated or watched the way I would have liked. Knowing that my child is at daycare more than any place else, I wanted to know he was learning and growing daily. I didn't think that was happening anymore. Very disappointing. read more

We have been part of the KinderCare family for several years now, and even with the jump to kindergarten at an elementary school we are still utilizing Kindercare for after school care. The staff there is consistent and always kind. Mrs Erica got my daughter prepared for kindergarten academically and emotionally and helped make the transition seamless. I came to this Kindercare center because of Kindercare's reputation. I have stayed at this Kindercare center because of the incredible teachers and support staff. I struggled to find care that I was comfortable with after my son was born and I needed to return to work. The teachers and staff were very patient with me answering all my questions and incredibly supportive of me when I was having a hard time saying goodbye to my baby in the mornings. There was one morning that both my child and I were having an especially hard time saying goodbye, the teacher called me later on in the day to check on me and reassure me that my baby was happy and doing well. They also made it very simple for me to continue providing breastmilk for my child while still an infant. The staff genuinely cares about and knows my child. Ms Shawn, the director, knows every child's name,knows all the parents, and is very much aware of everything that is going on her center. My Child's teachers Lori, Haley, & Cheryl go above and beyond to keep the kids engaged and learning. Kindercare has an app so I get updates throughout the day while I'm at work with what's going on with my child, activities, and even photos of him participating in different activities. New works of art and crafts come home to us daily. Over the summer we enrolled in the "day camp" they brought in a new keeper, a reptile demonstration, and other guests to present to the kids. The Kindercare brand, curriculums, and all of their features brought me in the door. The genuine caring and quality of the staff is why we continue to enroll here. read more

Please don't send your kids here if they have any sort of dietary restrictions. They claim to be allergy friendly but a not. Fed unsafe food and allowed outside food from other parents and fed it to my son. I could go on about what happened after that but it could be a trigger for some. read more

i had my daughter enrolled here in December, paid her dues to make sure she had a slot. After going here for 2 months, my daughter had to have an operation, they guaranteed us that she would have her space when she returned since we paid up. well, after the surgery, and the healing time we let the school know that she was ready to come back, the manager stated that they gave away her spot and basically said ,"Too Bad" even though we paid it wasnt good enough. "Also noticed that the employees are scared of the manager, and the manager never smiles. read more

My daughter has been at KinderCare for about 2 years now and I feel like the center has only gotten better since day 1. Virgie & Shawn (director & asst. director) are super helpful in accommodating for both working parents & stay-at-home parents. In my family's experience, they have treated our child's care & growth as a top priority: whether it's a biting problem, speech problem, potty training, you name it and they will work with you and your child's teacher on a personal level. We have taken advantage of the flexible schedules that are now available at the center: our child was enrolled full-time, then cut back to 3 days per week, then 2 days, and now re-enrolled for 3 days again - all changed as easy as a quick conversation with the directors. Our child has been through 4 different classes in these 2 yrs: infant, transitional, toddler, and now the 2's. Each class is assigned a wonderful teacher who develops a special bond with your child. Our daughter's current teacher, Mrs. Sonya has been super supportive in helping with speech development & potty training (something we were afraid to even approach!) Sadly, we will have to leave KinderCare because of relocating to another city and I hope we find another KinderCare that 'cares' as much as this one. read more

Any daycare is going to take some getting used to. My daughter has been going to Kinder Care since she was 7 months and now she's 15 months (she is still attending the Ventura Kinder Care) And overall I am happy with the environment and the teachers. It is always important that you communicate with the advisers and the teachers so that you are comfortable. And that is really all it takes. I am happy where she's at! read more

Wonderful school/daycare. Both my almost 2 year old and 5 year old boys love it here. One of my best friends has her little girl go here too and a neighbor of mine also has her two girls here. We enrolled our daughter at 4 months old in July, 2013. As we approach the one year mark of her being at KindCare, I have nothing but positive things to say. First, the staff clearly and genuinely cares about the well-being of each and every child. The infant room is staffed by Ms. Debbie and Ms. Cheryl, who are both wonderful, caring people. It takes a patient soul to be around infants all day, every day. It was very hard leaving my baby to go back to work but these teachers made it much easier because I felt like family was with my baby during the day. Now my daughter is in the toddler room with Ms. Melissa and sometimes Ms. Liz. Both teachers are young and energetic and my daughter truly loves her time there. They offer an enriching curriculum that helps with socialization, motor/sensory skills and general education. (Each day you get a form that says what your child did which is nice.) The administrators - Ms. Virgie and Ms. Shawn are also both professional and kind, and this type of solid leadership is key in keeping a facility great. The school is clean and well maintained.
