I'd been introduced to Buff City Soap during their grand openings in Louisville (here & in Nulu). Lucky enough to be given soap samples, I've been using them this month. On the other side of the bathroom door my husband will say "it smells pretty!" He's not wrong - the Love Potion is fragrant and makes my skin feel soft. Along with soaps and bath fizzes I heard they offer laundry soap. It's made with only 4 ingredients and can be used with HE washers. A large load takes 2 tbsp and from your container you should get 30 loads (or double that with small loads, 1 scoop). They sell the wooden scoop and you have select your scent, which is mixed by an associate. If you bring back your container for a refill they take off $1. I picked up a pre-made fresh cotton and had a love potion mixed. We also picked up dryer balls that can be used for 500 loads. Like the laundry soap you can have them scented. Later you can bring them in to be re-scented for $2/each. These will take the place of dryer sheets, can match your laundry soap and reduce allergies you might have to dryer sheets. There's so many soaps and smells in the store! We actually smelled like the soap after leaving - our clothes, my hair and mask. I bought a soap for a friend and they put it in a gift box for me. They offer a section for men, another area for kids and one for seasonal scents. We received excellent service. I appreciated the information and excitement about the products. I came to buy and wanted to better understand the selection. Prices are nicely marked on most signs or packages, but look up for a large wall sign with a full listing. I'll be back! read more

The only thing I am disappointed about is that I waited so long to go here. I am in the shopping center in Saint Matthews near this location many times a week but I never stopped in until a few days ago. This place smells so amazing. The staff is so helpful and cool. They make the soaps right there- I even watched them making some while I shopped. Everything is natural so if you have any sensitivities- their products should be fine for you. They had a sale so I bought 5 different scented bars, 3 dryer balls and a shower bomb. I can't wait to try it all. read more

This is such a cute store, jam packed with soaps, bath bombs, and other great smelling items. My daughter recently attended a birthday party and had a great time. Love that she mad bath bombs to take home later! Only downfall is that in my experience, the bath bombs have stained my bathtub several times now. Love the scents and the essential oils and how my skin feels after a soak, but hate that I have to clean my tub after every use. I will probably not purchase anymore bath bombs and would not recommend them if you have a white or relatively new bath tub. Other than that the products smell great! read more

Hands down ! I went into the store Saturday 11/28 after I got off work. I've heard amazing things about their laundry detergent and knew that's what I wanted. I also wanted to get some body wash as well since I was out of my regular stuff. This was my first time here and I truly wish I could remember the girl who helped me but I can't remember her name to save my life. She was so incredibly kind and helpful. I felt she was genuinely trying to help me find a scent that would make me happy and she even took the time to explain the process of how Buff City works and creating things for you. For example I found myself checking out the lotion stick and they didn't have a scent I liked. The employee asked me what I liked and I said lavender and she told me she could custom make me one and I could come by the next day to get it. I bought way more than what I was expecting. This was my first time in a Buff City Soap. Walking in was sensory overload in the best possible way. From the beautiful colors to the divine scents, everything is just fabulous inside. There was a great special on mix & match items 4 for $20, which I took as an excuse to stock up. The Love Potion scent was my favorite. (It's very similar to Love Spell from Victoria's Secret.) I also loved Queen! I purchased bar soap, bath bombs & shower oil in multiple scents. The soap is lasting a while, which I love, & the shower oil is fabulous. It's a little awkward to use at first (you spray & rub in while in the shower & then rinse it off before ending the shower) & you need to be careful not to get too much in the tub so you don't slip & fall. The only product that I probably won't buy again are the bath bombs. They smell & feel amazing, but each one I have tried left a colored stain on my porcelain tub that took a magic eraser to get off. But, they are all natural pigments so that is definitely a plus & everyone I know who has a vinyl tub has had no issues at all. So definitely give them a try. They produce the most luxurious bath I've ever had! All in all I really enjoyed the shopping experience & using the products at home. Will be back! read more

I'm not sure how I've never reviewed this place. I go here at least once a month! There are so many amazing products at Buff City Soap! Of course they have their bar soaps which are phenomenal and make the best gifts. I also use their shave bars which are extremely hydrating! I hear their soap whips are also great for shaving but I haven't gotten around to trying them. Their shower oil is amazing for the winter months to keep my skin from getting so dry. I've recently started using their laundry soap and it honestly replaces my fabric softener and scent boosters. My clothes stay so fresh for so long. Plus you lengthen the scent by using their dryer balls! Plus for my fellow zero waste pals, you can bring your dryer balls back in and get them rescented for just two dollars! And you can refill the laundry soap containers and get a dollar off for each one you bring back in. They always have great deals and a such amazing staff! read more

I wasn't prepared for all the choices and it ended up taking me a good while exploring everything. The two workers inside the store were some of the best people I've met within customer service. They even have some different Louisville inspired scents - which I thought was really cool! I got a $5 mystery box to try, which came with two bar soap samples and a lotion stick sample. One of the few shops I have been in during the pandemic and it was worth the visit. All the ckerks were wearing masks , they were helpful and friendly. The store is bright and well organized. There was a multitude of scents to choose from in the soaps and bath bombs. I bought, coconut, tropical, narcissist and cheery almond, most were for gifts but the tropical is delightful and refreshing. But my favorite purchase was the laundry detergent. The scent is narcissist and the smell lingers in my towels and wash clothes which is fabulous. Street parking . Like all speciality soap they are a bit costly but still a great gift and lovely scents. read more

Me and my daughter went in to just "look" 45 minutes and $30 later! They MAKE their own soap, laundry detergent, bath bombs and shower fizzes. They even have stuff for your face! It's all natural and smells so good!! It's not overwhelming when you walk in, they greet you as soon as you enter and explain their process and then they just leave you alone to smell! They even have stuff for kid's. PLUS they have $5 mystery boxes. read more
