Each bedroom is different and beautiful. We stayed in the Hummingbird Room which has a very comfortable king bed, a gorgeous built-in floor to ceiling armoire, and a large tub and rain shower in the beautiful bathroom. The B&B is located in a very cute residential part of Allentown, only a 6-10 minute walk to Allen Street with its many restaurants and shops. The three-course breakfasts and fresh juices that Mary Sue prepares and serves are different every day. Each meal is made from scratch and tasted heavenly. She is really an artist disguised as a chef, and I'm not sure we've ever had anyone who has cooked for us with such talent and care before. When we told her we couldn't eat that much in the morning, she quickly adjusted her menu to fit our needs. Daniel helped serve breakfast in the morning and gave us so many great suggestions for restaurants, places to see, best places to park, and more. There's a small shared fridge for guests on the first floor where we kept some food & leftovers which we really appreciated using. Staying at this gem of a B&B full of such kind, loving people, elevated our trip to Buffalo to a much higher level. We will definitely stay there again.

Since that moment I have been out on the river twice and absolutely enjoyed myself while learning new information on each trip up the river (I am still waiting for my stale donuts Tom ... haha). This is a well done tour whether you are a tourist or someone like me with a lifelong connection to the City of Good Neighbors. The river is beautiful and the history lessons interesting. If you find yourself downtown on a beautiful day with time on your hands take to the river!!

I had a great time learning all about the architecture which is an Art Deco masterpiece. The docent was very knowledgeable. We saw the Common Council Chambers and ended on tho Observation Deck. We were also annoyed at his reference to Roycroft Inn workers getting stoned and calling one of his ex-girlfriends, a "sweet young thing". Really kind of sexist and not funny at all. About the best that could be said was that the tour was shortened to 60 minutes instead of 90.

Not scary at all. Further, the group leader was ill prepared, his audio device didn't work (so the large audience in attendance couldn't hear him) and he was not aware of the path, surprised by construction, he seemed to make it up as he went. Some history, no jokes, no spooks ... bummer, my family and out of town guests were so looking forward to this. I think it has potential with better prep, richer story telling and new batteries in the portable microphone - I recommend a different walk - this one disappointed !!!

I found the Underground Railroad tour in Buffalo and immediately booked. Why did I book? For starts, it's a 3 hour tour learning about one of the most historic and unknown aspects of American history. It is extremely well priced for the convenience and intimacy of the tour. You're picked up at the Underground Railroad Historic Museum (free parking is a bonus) and you're met by Kevin (dressed in period clothing including a dope top hat). He drives you to the key areas of Buffalo that were critical to the Underground Railroad. We had a very diverse tour group and Kevin made us feel comfortable to ask questions and to interact with our group. One of the best parts of the tour was going to an actual "station" on the Underground Railroad. It's a 300 year-old barn organically owned by McClew family who were "conductors" on the Underground Railroad. You get to experience the barn where many people were housed, fed, and clothed on their journey to Canada. After this experience 've become a Motherland C groupie! Kevin (the owner) could be a history professor (watch out, Dr. Gates!) with his knowledge and passion of American history and the history of Western New York (he's a Buffalo native). Kevin even gave great recommendations for shops, food and hotels for the Toronto leg of our trip. They offer a variety of tours so make sure to check out their website to get their schedule.

We booked a guided tour of the history of the Underground Railroad here in Niagara Falls for this…read moreafternoon. Turns out we were the only ones on the tour today, so it was a wonderful, personal experience with an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide named Kevin Cottrell. He was a great storyteller and a beautiful human being. We visited many historic places and heard many disturbing and heartbreaking stories. This was definitely one of the best guided tours of its kind I have ever been on. Highly recommend.
