She did not remind us of time limits and let us roam for too long. The speaker kept cutting in and out. I tried getting closer but that didn't even work!!!!! The tiki boat is a great way to the see the river and learn a little history about buffalo! I would compare the experience to a pubcycle tour. You can play your own music and bring all the drinks and food you want. During the day I would say it wasn't as much of a party atmosphere as it would be at night. The price at night does go up slightly. A couple negatives were no cup holders or foot rests. On a windy day the cup holders are very necessary! read more

A surprisingly great time. The pedal car is entirely powered by your group so be prepared to actually work a little. You are permitted to bring some drinks of your own if they have can coozies but the fun is visiting the local bars, breweries, and distilleries to order drinks between pedaling around the city. Our group went to Resurgence/Hartman's Distilling which are side by side. The bartender at Hartman's was super sweet and helpful and let us try some odd things from the bar as well. We also visited Southern Tier which was busy before a Sabres game but also had great bar service and excellent drinks. I had an old fashioned at Hartmans and a Creme Brulle Nitro Milk Stout at Southern Tier. The tour start and end are right by Ballyhoo and Swannie House if you need food to recover from your boozing after the ride. We chose Swannie House and had a great time and great service outside on the patio. read more

This was great! The group I was with did a Buffalo Pedal Tour on a Wednesday night at 8:30. We waited for the 5:30 tour to finish up theirs outside the Big Ditch Brewing Co, and it was totally up to us as to where we wanted to stop at for our little bar hopping bike tour. The other group unloaded from the bike blaring country music and laughing to the point of almost crying, they absolutely loved it and it was a great omen as we hopped on in their place. There are cubbies where you can stash purses or jackets, it's cool to bring water bottles (and in fact, I would strongly suggest it), and other snacks (which I also suggest). We were allowed about 20-25 minutes at each shop, which was good for about 1 drink at each place. The tour itself runs about 2 hours with a little bit of wiggle room, such as the 5:30 tour pulled up at 8, and our 8:30 tour really ended around 10:45 and we had to pedal the bike into the garage it gets stowed in at night. The pedaling is slow going, but that's perfectly alright. It gives you plenty of time to take in the beautiful downtown renovation of Buffalo, keep your conversation going, and you're still going to get a good workout as you all try to pedal quickly through the stoplights. It's so much fun and a great workout to break up the drinks! You can party and feel good about it all at the same time! You can even pair your smart phone with the speaker on board to play music lists. But don't bring a CD, there's no CD player. I mean, it is 2015, we have Bluetooth now, and even though we jerryrigged an old stereo someone had in their car to the Pedal Bike aux system, it was all staticky and the CD skipped. Just someone have Pandora or Spotify on their phone and play from there, the guy steering the pedal tours and keeping time is more than happy to help you pair your device with the bike. So it was a lot of fun! I would suggest don't do this after a long day of work (one of our group works manual labor and he was not having a good time at all), and I myself was a little worn out from training for a half marathon and nursing a sore knee, but it was still a really good time! HORROR STORY, please read before booking with this terrible company: My fiancee booked a pedal tour for my birthday for a Friday night slot (which we paid a premium for) and we were very excited to do the tour. Unfortunately and tragically, her aunt unexpectedly passed away Friday night; just 2 hours before our tour. This affected quite a large number of people in our group, so we obviously were not going to go through with the tour given the circumstances. While my fiancee rushed to the hospital with her family, I contacted the owner to explain the situation in the hopes of rescheduling and all he said (via text because he wouldn't take a call "during dinner") was "no rescheduling or refunds." over and over again. His complete and utter lack of sympathy and compassion was extremely off-putting, but after a few more texts he finally responded with "you can reschedule for a Monday or Tuesday provided you send proof of death and the obituary from the Buffalo News." and suggested we were "lucky" he was allowing us to do this. Despite barely being able to accommodate a Monday or Tuesday, that next Friday we responded saying we would like to do the following Monday at 8pm time slot. We received no answer nor confirmation from him, so when we got to Sunday, the day before the desired rescheduled tour, it was up in the air whether or not this was even happening. My fiancee, who is still grieving the loss of her aunt, asked me to be the point of contact so she did not have to relive anything from that Friday night, so when he emailed her asking us to call to reschedule, I called on her behalf. I called and when the owner answered, I introduced myself and said I was calling to reschedule on her behalf, and he cut me off and began to scream over the phone, yelling "PUT HER ON THE PHONE. NOW!" Taken aback, I calmly reminded him that I was the point person going forward, and he kept screaming for me to put her on the line. She was, in fact, not with me and was unavailable at the time, so after a few more demands to put her on the line he began to yell at me about a negative review someone in our party put on social media about the horrific customer service we've experienced from the owner so far despite the tragic event that prevented us from doing the tour. We noticed he, or his social media manager, was quick to remove this post from their page so nobody could see the negative review. They had the opportunity to address a customer complaint to rebuild rapport, but just decided to run from the problem instead, most likely because he knew what a bad look this complaint was for his company and reputation. After all was said and done, we decided to eat the cost of the tour (since the owner would not budge on any refunding no matter the circumstances) and not do the tour at all. It was not worth it to us to do a tour with a company that exhibited customer service that was this unfathomably bad. A couple points to summarize: 1. How insensitive is it of the owner to request "proof of death" the night of such a tragic incident in order to reschedule? He never once said anything along the lines of "I'm sorry for your loss". This, alone, suggests we were just dollar signs to him. This man has no idea how to interact with customers, especially in circumstances out of their control, like this one. Really poor, disgraceful behavior from a business owner. 2. Although we paid a premium of about $150 to do the Friday night time slot, he forced us to reschedule for a Monday or Tuesday slot, and only gave us 4 possible days (2 Mondays and 2 Tuesdays) to make it happen. We are all working professionals, and therefore were not able to accommodate any of these time slots, but to him it was just "oh well, no refunds." So, if we did the tour on a Monday/Tuesday, the owner was walking away with about $150 in additional profit by means of a tragic family death. How nice. Buffalo Pedal Tours (the owner in particular) should be completely and utterly ashamed of itself based on the customer service shown throughout this process, the unprofessionalism shown to a group of people who experienced a terrible loss, and the overall lack of understanding based on the circumstances. While we ended up giving this man our money with no service provided, I ask you to please spread the word about this horrific company in the hopes that awareness spreads enough to reduce his business. The number one rule in any business is "the customer is always right", but the owner of this company neglected to abide by this in any way, shape, or form. Please do not do business with this company. read more

This was an absolute blast! We did the bike tour that started down by Riverworks. Our driver was awesome, funny, and gave us great tips on which bars to stop at. Myth dispelled... you DO have to pedal, so wear comfortable shoes! You can bring drinks, snacks, and music on there bus. We also ordered pizza from riverworks and brought it with us. We stopped at pearl street (liberty hound was mobbed), templeton landing, and swannie House. This was a great experience, though I must admit my legs are sore today! read more

Its the first time going on the pedal tours of Buffalo. Group of us went on Sunday afternoon. We realize you must have strong legs to pedal but was fun. You stop at fews bars to have drinks. You allowed to bring food, pop and water but no beer or wine. Best thing that Buffalo did. I would do this again. I would like tried at night tour. read more

My mom booked a Buffalo Pedal Tour for 15 of us over Memorial Weekend. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend their tours to others. We stopped at three bars and we were able to choose where we wanted to stop. It was a great time riding around with friends and family, and our guide was very nice, fun, and helpful. The only advice I would have is to try to coordinate more specials with the bars that the tours visit because the specials that the three bars we went to were all for beer drinkers, and there were many of us who are more into wine and cocktails than beer. This was a great experience! My friends and I did a Buffalo Pedal Tour on a Saturday night at 10:45 pm. The group decides which bars they want to go to and you can stay at those bars for approximately 30 minutes and then you get back on the bike and go to another bar. You can bring your own music and play whatever you want. Not everyone has to pedal so if someone wants a break, there is a bench on the back that you can sit on (but its way more fun to pedal). We brought some chips and dip to eat while pedaling, which was nice that late at night. It was kind of windy when we went so we all brought extra jackets and when we didn't want to wear them we stashed them in the storage area above the bike. We had a driver named Jesse, who definitely made our time on the bike even more fun and enjoyable! You can always go bar hopping, but pedaling around Buffalo to go bar hopping is something that everyone should experience! (Also, its perfect for special occasions). read more

Had a most enjoyable relaxing tiki cruise down the Buffalo River with our own group of friends. We reserved all eight seats and split the cost so it was very reasonable. The only reason this is even getting 1 star is because we had fun on the water. My group and I did the Buffalo Pedal Boat Tour and it was nothing but a big, freaking nightmare trying to plan it, not mention that the owner gave us lots of headaches. First, when he confirmed my reservation he called me the wrong name. VERY unprofessional and put a bad taste in my mouth. My group and I are paying almost $500...you think he could at least get my name right and take the time to double check the accuracy. Second, 2 days before the tour he changed the time on us. It was supposed to be at 3pm but he changed it to 3:30pm and said we'd get an extra half hour on the water. However that works, idk but we were ok with the time change because it added time for us (apparently. Keep reading) Third, they changed the pick up location on us twice. I got an email saying it was Riverworks, then got a call saying it was Templeton's Landing, then at 3pm THE DAY OF THE TOUR I got a call saying it was going to be out of the Erie Marina. My group had no idea where to go when they got there. Actually being on the water was a blast, but at the end of our tour we had a little mishap with a medical emergency and INSTEAD OF MAKING SURE THEY WERE OK, HE WAS RUSHING US OFF THE BOAT BECAUSE HE HAD ANOTHER TOUR RIGHT AFTER OURS. Maybe don't book the times so close together? And remember earlier how I said they told us we'd get an extra half hour on the water? They tried to dock us after 1.5 hours so we called him out on it and then he goes "oh. Ok yeah we can stay out 15 minutes longer." WE WERE SUPPOSED TO GET 30 MINUTES MORE. It was awful and a nightmare and the amount of fun we had actually on the water didn't make up for the headache that I encountered trying to plan it. He's rude and ignorant and at the end of the day is only looking to make money, not caring about his employees, customers, and more. This is an absolutely awesome time!!! We did the experience as part of a bachelor party and started at Big Ditch Brewing, went down to the Liberty Hound, 716, Pan-American Bar and Grill and finished up at Big Ditch. You can choose from some other bar options, that was just our group choice. You get about 24-30 minutes each bar and we did from 6-8pm on a Saturday. The crowds were light so we were able to get at least 2 drinks a bar and play some games at Pan-American. The bike pilot was awesome, super friendly, and funny. We had some music cranking as we went as well. It was a unique way to travel the city. read more

First off I must say that the Pedal Boat Tour was a blast. There's just something about being on the water with a drink in your hand on a beautiful Buffalo summer night. Really enjoy that you could hook up to Bluetooth and pick and choose the songs you want to hear rather than being subjected to a playlist. The only draw back about a pedal tour in my opinion is that your sitting on a bike seat for 2 hours and they are not the most comfortable. But I did not knock 2 stars off of the review because my behind isn't fond of bicycle seats, the reason why was the events leading up to the tour. About a week or so before our scheduled tour we received a voicemail going over the details. We were told that we were to meet a Templeton Landing (good thing they called or we were all going to meet at the wrong place), the time and additional details about the tour. Two days before we received another call and learned that our departure time was moved back a half hour, not a big deal we just told the rest of our party that we were not meeting quite as early. Then the day of our tour, 2 hours before we were set to leave we received a confirmation email with the original time we reserved (by then it was too late to tell everyone that the time was changed again, so we stuck to the 7:30 start time, which worked out because as we were arriving it seemed that the tour before us just docked). In the end it all worked out but it was aggravating how disorganized it was leading up to our tour. Hopefully as time goes on they will have a better way of planning tours out and becoming more organized, because it was a lot of fun. read more

We went on our first pedal tour in Nashville and had soooo muc fun! We had our own driver and bartender. We decided to do it again in Buffalo and the driver (Ken) ruined it for us! He was too serious and wouldn't let us do anything! He threatened us to charge us more money ($100) if we didn't pedal fast enough back to the meeting spot (after we skipped a bar even). In trying to plan an event with out of town guests, we naturally had many questions in trying to coordinate and they were clearly annoyed, uncooperative and I would even say a bit hostile. We had a great time. Although we were rushed (which I understand), the driver and helper were very nice and got us to each bar safely. The problem came later in the night when we saw the same bike with the same driver and helped stop at the bar that we stopped at well after our tour had ended. We signed waivers that stated we were not able to drink alcohol on the tour, which of course we abided by. However, later when we saw the bike, we saw all the patrons were drinking alcohol. When we asked the driver and helper why they were able to drink and why we weren't, they "under the breath" stated they the patrons were local cops. I'm not a lawyer but if they signed the same waiver we did (and paid the same amount we did) it is illegal that they can drink on the bike. Like I said, great time but double standards.
