    End of Trail...

Got to love living in an area where there are lots of trails to explore! Remind me a lot of Oregon, just a little less green! Lol The trail is around 2.1 miles and is really well marked. It also was signs letting you know how to inform 911 where you are in case of an emergency. There is a mixture of covered and uncovered areas on the hike and there is a really cool suspension bridge near the end. The one downside is the limited parking, there is only around 8 paved spots but a few places in the grass you can park if you don't mind getting the car dirty. Overall a good, fun hike with lots to see and I highly recommend giving it a try. A little tip, go early if the day is supposed to be hot. There is around a mile of the hike with limited shade...

Creek bed, normally where he is is all under water. My dog doesn't like deep water, so this creek even when full is perfect.

We love this place. Part of the trail is out in the sun (be prepared) then the next 1/2 is in the forest and it feels like you are in the mountains. My dog loves to come and we walk down and play in the creek. He will not cross the bridge (swings and his paws on the grate) but he easily climbs down to the creek and back up. We went today and the water was very low, it is usually much higher.

this spot was absolutely amazing. I loved walking with my family. The scenery was amazing and enjoyed the walk. It was roughly about 2 miles There 2 miles back! Would wear long pants seems to be a little buggy other than that one of the best trails.

There also is a creek with a suspension bridge to cross, and then more pine trees again.

The trail is not paved and barely smooth. It's great if you're wearing appropriate footwear. I would not say that this is handicapped accessible at all. However, it's a level walk and I would rate this hike as "easy." Natural walkway extends for nearly two miles from here and goes through a lovely forest and farmland. I walked for about 15 minutes before turning back and continuing on my way. Always hike with a friend and always be aware of wildlife, whether four- or two-legged. Plus, its an easy walk with little elevation changes, and is entirely natural surface. Over the years, I have met some nice people, discovered interesting wildlife, and have ran up on the occasional snake crossing the trail. I dislike snakes and give them space to go on their merry way. Since the trail "snakes" along the Rocky River, they come with the territory. The trail is mostly shaded from the hot summer sun as it meanders across several feeder creeks that empty into the river. Each crossing is made easy with sturdy bridges which the volunteers have replaced several times due to flash flooding. The Rocky River rises quickly and can become dangerous, so the trail entrance is locked both during those times and during the evening hours. You can also launch your canoe or kayak there as part of the Blue Way Trail system. Afterwards, head down to Midland to the ice cream shop for a treat. Easy to give this trail my "give 'em a whirl" nod.

First timers here. Found the location here on yelp. We weren't able to explore the trails entirely…read more Should have worn my boots, and the trails are very confusing. They do have markers and a map, but it's still confusing with the disc golf course trails, and some only seem one way. Only issue. This place was beautiful. Trails were amazing. Sights were definitely soothing. Very secluded area. We will be coming back in better preparation and explore every inch lol. A great place to pack a lunch for a scenic picnic. Parking is secluded. Almost like you're driving to no where. There is a port-a-pot at parking. Didn't see anything in the trails. Newer benches, woodwork throughout. Disc golf course seems to be a highlight here of how well kept it is. No one here today as it was chilly and gloomy. Wear hiking/waterproof boots.

"Hidden" hiking gem in Robbins, NC…read more We ended up hiking Bear Creek in lieu of continuing north and hiking the Uhwarrie. I'm so glad we did, what a pleasant surprise. Following the address takes you right to the small parking area (water plant parking) and there is a picnic table and direction/map kiosk at the trail head. There is a box for trail maps that was empty when we visited, but we simply took a photo of the map. You must follow along Bear creek and pass by a spillway overlook, continuing till you are given multiple options of other trails. Trails vary from easy to difficult (steep, skinny walkways). Multiple directional kiosks throughout and all trails are marked by color on hiking plaques or spray paint. It doesn't seam as if this hiking area is highly maintained, nevertheless it's still in fair shape. The area is remote, we saw approximately 10 people in 2 hours.
