This is a nice park to take kids to for something to do. They had signs saying you shouldn't enter the water in certain places, but people seemed to ignore those. Lots of laughs and splashing heard as we walked around. :) They have several restrooms which were pretty clean for the most part also, which was a good thing. Parking is plentiful, but how close you can park depends on how crowded it is. We were initially directed to an overflow lot but just as we got out of the car, some spaces opened up in the main lot so we were able to move. I believe you can also get on a chartered boat here to go on Lake Norman. Nice place, we will return.

Some people that frequent the spot, let their dogs become aggressive and don't curb or police them. Others , are blindly yapping away when their animal is pissing and crapping in the play area and fail to clean it up like you are supposed to like us responsible owners do. Most people are friendly but, it is mainly for more than one person. They have TV's but, there is so much activity where they are located that it is hard to focus. If you are alone it can be boring except for the fact your dog is enjoying it (which I guess is the point!) The bar used to be hit or miss but has improved. While a I know this isn't a place you should be going to get tipsy even , I mean I get it , it's a dog park but when I have ordered a shot or two of whiskey with my beer , I was really ripped off more than a couple times by two specific people. The bar manager is great and I think she corrected the light pours, which is great because the alcohol there isn't cheap. I'm not ragging on the bartenders though - all of them are nice and polite. I have only limited experience with the Doggy Daycare and while I don't know what actually goes on back 'there' my dog seemed to be happy when picked up. I will say one of the young ladies who normally checks me in young, with mid-length blonde hair was not very friendly. It was like 8AM and it's Doggy Day Care and isn't cheap , probably be a bit friendlier to the customers. Other than that , it's a decent place to enjoy an afternoon with a beer, or not, while your pup plays and socializes with other dogs. Just wish some owners would be more attentive of their dogs behavior - most are! Recommend checking this place out.

This is WAS my go to spot to take my dog and now I'm done. I feel like they have just gotten worse and worse over the years. You will request report cards and you get nothing! No communication with your dog being there with them while you are traveling. If you are looking for a place to board your dog go somewhere else!

The dog was running and barking, not the lady. The park also has a basketball court and a playground, both of which are roped off for the pandemic. The playground has a great rubber base which is terrific for the little ones who tend to fall down a lot. Note that the parking lot is shared by the nearby church so you may have trouble parking on a Sunday morning. The large picnic shelter is reservable. It was quite busy - not surprising given the mid 80s temps and not a cloud in sight. But I was still able to find some quieter areas. It's in a wooded area so it's a well shaded. There's lots for kids to do and while most of the stuff I will say is geared towards kids five and up there are things for younger kids to do and I do appreciate the handicap swings. Kids younger than three have a very tiny area to play compared to everything else. They're definitely going to be drawn to the main play area, which is bigger and you might have bigger kids running around so that creates a little bit of an unsafe situation when you have a mix of uncoordinated children, and bigger rowdy kids. Even if your kids are bigger doesn't mean that they'll be able to use everything at the park. Some of the things are definitely geared towards balance and coordination so if your kids are not well coordinated or have good balance or can catch themselves if they fall I would stay close by. The other thing I love about this park is that we can bring our bikes and take a ride down to the water and let the kids play by the sanded area. The trails are beautiful and you'll definitely get some good distance in if you're going to go to any of the stops along the trail.

We were engulfed in a beautiful, clean, well maintained forest with a mulch floor. We were met by 9 friendly dogs and 8 friendly dog owners. In the middle of the forest was a clean, well shaded wooden bench. Beyond the fence was a state forest, so snakes have been known to enter in.

The area is well shaded and not very muddy with seating areas for the people and room for dogs to run about. A dedicated parking lot in the front, a double-gate area to keep the dogs secure and signage that indicates the rules of the park. There is also a dispenser with bags and a drop off for filled ones. I also appreciate the little benches for owners to sit on while they watch their pets play. I also love that almost every time I go, I run into the same dog parents and we all just refer to each other as the [dog's name]'s mom or dad lol. I just especially love the walking trail surrounding the park and the fact that the fire station is right next door and there's usually an officer patrolling the trail on their bike.

She gets tons of play time, good…read moreinteraction with other pups her size, and gets to sleep in her own bed during stays (most of the time it even comes home laundered! Trust me, this is no easy feat!). Teddy usually falls asleep on the ride home from camp as she's so exhausted from her doggy adventures but you can tell how happy and incredibly well cared for she is during her time away. We've had issues with boarding facilities in the past (check my reviews if interested) which left us hesitant to booking, especially considering the expense that comes with larger breed considerations. However, not only does TCC have better care, facilities, and customer service; they are also easier on the checkbook. Teddy definitely has a home away from home in TCC, and even though our new move puts us another 15 minutes out, we wouldn't go anywhere else!
