Pluses for having a system that seems to work smoothly for working with clients once they are being seen. Wait can be awful, but people come in with anywhere from 1 to 10 bags of whatever. I feel for them--they should wear masks to avoid all the fibers entering the body. They have unobjectionable pat phrases for why they turn things down. So, polite. What I wish was better, and the reason for three stars, is the return rate for what they will take. I always leave feeling cheated, but they're close by and serve as my alternative to DePop and Poshmark, which have much better returns for whatever I do sell on those sites. I come here when things move too slowly online or I know they won't sell online. BE is the last resort before giving stuff away to the Vietnam Vets of America. Made an appointment on line to sell some clothes. App is great so I was up as soon as I arrived. The sales associate was nice and professional. Super efficient as she quickly scanned my merch. I had some mid to high end pieces, new with tags that probably weren't on brand for the store. The one item the took was new with tags, a lower end brand. Offered me $6 in store credit or $3 cash. I took a lap and the only things I wanted weren't in my size so I took the cash.. will use it to pay for parking on my next stop. read more

heads up for those trying to sell, join their online queue on their website ahead of time. even so, be wary of the misleading wait times the queue may state. from my experience, the wait time stated was highly inaccurate. it told me i was 3rd in line and i had to wait 12 minutes... it stated this for over an hour.. it's def not the workers fault, but the system could use some fine tuning. brought in 2 bags of clothes (one mens, one womens) and they ended up taking 4 mens pieces out of the 20+. we received around $22 for the 4 pieces. parking is available on the street right out front or in any parking structure nearby. read more

This is probably the smallest Buffalo exchange I've been to. Shelves of shoes and racks of clothes from Men's to women's and for anyone in between ;) Found some cute and necessary items. Well curated from What I've seen. I didn't see a lot of designer or luxury items compared to Crossroads. The selection here is not too shabby. I would really need to have something in mind to purchase otherwise I'm buying stuff I don't need lol! Prices are just about on target nothing outrageous. Staff was helpful and nice. I'd come back again and maybe on a non busy workday to avoid the crowds since it's such a small store. read more

Parking: Decent amount of street parking available Ambience: Decently sized store with a huge selection of clothes, shoes, and jewelry. It seems fairly organized and there are a decent number of dressing rooms in the back to try on pieces. Service: Very friendly! The girl behind the counter was quite bubbly and welcoming, and would explain that even if they didn't buy pieces you'd brought in to sell, it was because they had similar items already / they weren't selling well at the current time / some other non-offensive reason that didn't give off condescending vibes. If they buy one of your pieces, you'll get offered either 50% in store credit of whatever price they deem your item to be worth, or 25% in cash. The line can get fairly long if you're trying to sell, but it gives you time to browse the store. If you're buying anything, they'll always pause reviewing clothes sellers bring in to help you check out. My only misgivings were 1) There's no system to call / message you if you leave the store while waiting to sell, and you're told you have to stay in the store or else you lose your place in line no matter how many people are ahead of you, and 2) If you lose your card with store credit, then there's no way to recuperate those funds / you won't be in their system, but they will accept a picture of the barcode if you do happen to lose the physical copy. I am a reseller and would strongly recommend avoiding this particular Pasadena location if you are looking to sell items, especially vintage pieces. My partner and I visited to sell a number of items, and it quickly became apparent that they do not take vintage clothing. The women's clothing selection here consists mostly of fast-fashion brands such as Target and Forever 21, with little to no unique or higher-quality options. Upon arrival, the tall blonde woman, who appeared to be the manager, was unnecessarily curt. When I sat down in the waiting area, she asked if my partner and I were together. I assumed she meant for the check-in process and clarified that we each had our own items. She then stated that she needed me to move so another customer could sit. While I had no problem moving, her delivery came across as unnecessarily sharp, as if I had been intentionally taking up space. After reviewing my items, she began going through my partner's items and asked, "Are you a reseller?" When my partner confirmed but also explained that some pieces were his mother's, she informed him that resellers should only come on Wednesdays. This was never mentioned beforehand -- not by phone, online, or upon check-in -- and Buffalo Exchange does not have this policy listed publicly. She then stated that if two more customers checked in, she would have to stop reviewing his items and move on to the next people in line, though we could go back on the waitlist. While policies are understandable, the manner in which she spoke to us throughout the visit was consistently dismissive and disrespectful unprofessional, making the entire experience unpleasant. read more

I think that since thrifting has become such a trendy hobby, prices have significantly increased, taking the true fun out of it. Buffalo Exchange has a good reputation for reselling the higher end and more desirable items, thus also charging a higher fee. I personally find that a lot of the prices are exaggerated and take away the luster from true bargain hunting. They are selective and I never really find any true treasures, but it's still fun once in a while. If you're looking to sell your items, they have a decent program if you decide to take Store credit otherwise they offer very little. I typically also find the staff to be a little on the snooty side. Lol ... it's all good, go in and experience it for yourself. read more

Had an appointment at banter and bliss which is just a couple businesses down from this new buffalo exchange location. We were early to our appointment and decided to explore a little and stumbled in here. I guess they just opened last week and wow did they have a lot of neat stuff. We strolled in around 5:30pm on a Saturday night and there were maybe less than 10 of us inside. Another customer was literally grabbing a bunch of stuff cause she found so many things she liked. Lowkey, I've never been to a buffalo exchange and I'd go back! I ended up finding a neat pair of snake earrings that were giving Taylor swift reputation. It was so neat I just had to get it! My partner was debating on a few tops but didn't end up getting anything. Everything was well priced for the quality and brand. I'd come back to see what they have next time! New place just opened about a month ago, by the big roads with side street parking (1hr). Overall small but has pretty much everything you're looking for. Lines are not long at all for selling. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Priced pretty reasonable. Bunch of new stuffs there as well as old. Would definitely come around again. This location is hands down one of the worst customer service experiences you'll ever deal with. The staff are rude, condescending, and completely inconsistent. They'll randomly interrogate you about whether you're a "reseller" (which has nothing to do with the clothes you bring) and then use that as an excuse to turn people away. None of these so-called "rules" are posted anywhere, they just make them up as they go. The manager is especially unprofessional, speaking to customers in a sharp, dismissive tone as if you're an inconvenience just for showing up. Policies change mid-visit, and instead of helping, they treat you like you should be grateful they even looked at your items. If you value your time, respect, or even a halfway decent shopping/selling experience, do not go to this Pasadena location. Then, eavesdrop for their final cash out which will sound something like "$36 cash or $58 store credit". 7) Grow more insecure 8) Step up to the plate and win the Small Talk Olympics, taking a gold medal in "Playing it Cool" while they look through your pieces 9) Get your offer of $48 or $75 store credit. Remarry the leather jacket they were gonna give you $7 for. Show your ID, and take your now $34 cash AND 90% of your clothes back home. 10) Put the clothes back in the hallway where they had previously waited for 2-4 months for processing. 11) List a piece on Facebook Marketplace, then reply to 20-60 messages asking "Is this available?" 12) Burn the remaining clothes in the yard 13) Pet your dog and watch Love is Blind P.S the girls at BE are really sweet and there's tons of quirky pieces to buy here. This place has much better picks than at Crossroads. The employees at Buffalo said that their styles are more "curated" and I found the pieces to be less grungy. There are a LOT of vintage clothes, if that's what you're into. Although Buffalo charges a lot more than a traditional thrift store (e.g. discount store prices), their picks are unique and high quality. Great location for both buying and selling! I highly recommend. Their accessory inventory is great. I found fantastic real silver indigenous jewelry and well made leather boots for a steal. I also find that they stock a lot more one of kind vintage pieces. You just have to go in with some time and patience as most racks are packed. read more

Extremely disappointing to have to write this review. I actually thought this location had a lot of amazing pieces, but I didn't get to try anything on as my 2 year old tagged along with me today and we were in and out in under 20 minutes. I would've loved to go back on a different day to explore more of the store and spend more of my money but after the interaction I had a check out I will never come back to the spot. Let me just say first of all, I worked in retail for over 10 years and I understand that maybe sometimes we don't want to be at work or it's not the most exciting thing going on in our day, but customer service should be a given no matter what's going on. I literally waited at a register for over three minutes... Which may not sound like a lot, but sit there and time how long three minutes really is and you'll understand my frustration. To stand at a register that long without having either of the two employees at the front even acknowledge you, while my two-year-old is making his toddler noises and I'm just standing there awkwardly trying to figure out who's going to help me. When I finally make eye contact with the female brunette, she says "oh do you want to check out?" I said "yes" then she says "well that register is closed. You need to go to the other one" at which point the guy at the other register says "yeah that one is closed you need to come here." Ummmmm OK? So why didn't anyone tell me that during the three full minutes I stood here and no one acknowledged me? They were literally under 10 feet away from me. It was so uncomfortable, even the guy waiting behind me gave me a look like, "what's up with these people?" The whole interaction with both of these employees was so uncomfortable and condescending that it made me question if these people should be working in the store at all, ESPECIALLY the female. Then I unfortunately had to walk back in the store five minutes later because I realized my child had dropped his jacket on the floor. At which point the female employee gave me ANOTHER dirty look. So that really just sealed the deal for me that I'll never be back to this location. I should've listened to the other reviews saying not to come here, but I didn't have anything to sell. I would give them a zero if I could. I had a horrible experience at your location on 468 E Colorado Blvd Pasadena, CA 91101 United States on the date 11/09/24 around 3:00pm. My husband and I went in to your location to sell some clothing items this was our first time selling clothes. We waited almost a hour until it was our turn unfortunately I didn't get the associates name she wasn't wearing a name tag or introduce herself but she's a light skin Caucasian female with short blond hair and tattoos all over her arms. While she was checking out the clothes we were walking around she was making fun of the clothing sizes we took into sell along with her other coworker JC. The manger which I unfortunately didn't get her name either but she's has glasses and brown hair was also complaining that the clothes smelled too much like Downey. There was several other customers there hearing their conversation which was embarrassing for my husband and I. I have never felt so discriminated and humiliated in my life like yesterday 11/09/2024. I will never return to any of of your locations I will take my business somewhere else and will be sharing my experience with everyone I know and online that this location is not size inclusive they only purchase clothing sizes of society's standard. read more
