Was greeted as we entered and a bag immediately caught my eye in the display case. The price I felt was reasonable for vintage designer and in excellent condition. Never coming back here! Security guard was so rude I couldn't believe I was treated like garbage immediately upon walking into the store. I can't stand employees that act entitled while they're making minimum wage. They were closing in 10 minutes and I was finishing an ice cream (i'm also very obviously pregnant) to which he said I needed to put it on the table. So I just stood next to the front table while my friend started shopping and he yelled at me that I couldn't eat the ice cream in the store even though I literally wasn't moving and just standing there at the entrance - obviously not shopping. My friend was also so disgusted by his tone and dirty looks so we both turned around and left. So rude and not the first time the staff has acted this way. Saw a comment about this place as a thrift store, but really it is a resale store. Well-curated, located in Old Town Pasadena, with helpful staff. I'm more of a thrift store person and they do have a section of affordable ($5-33) items, but really it's geared towards a younger clientele- I'd say 15-35 years old - who wants to pay $100 for a used BAPE shirt. I am absolutely furious with the incompetence of 2nd STREET. I purchased an item from their store, only to find out later that they failed to remove the security tag at checkout. This is beyond unprofessional--it's outright negligent! Because of their careless mistake, I was forced to waste my time and energy dealing with a problem that should never have happened in the first place. Not only was I unable to use the item as intended, but I also had to go through the massive inconvenience of returning to the store just to fix their incompetence. What if I had traveled out of town? What if I didn't have the receipt? This kind of negligence is completely unacceptable! A store that can't handle something as basic as properly processing a purchase doesn't deserve to stay in business. Don't sell your clothes here!!! The shorter guy @ the front is rude, deceptive, and knowingly ripped me off. I brought a big box of clothes in. When he presented me with the estimate sheet, he did not show me what he was taking until after I had signed off-- I did not realize he had labeled a $400 Scotch and Soda jacket as a "woman's top" on the sheet & put the estimate as $5. Because there were actual shirts in the box, I mistakenly thought that was what the "$5 women's top" on the estimate sheet was referring to, and I signed over the clothes. Very cool spot in Pasadena. Prices are fairly decent for the items I'm looking for which is vintage/modern jerseys and sneakers. Anyway most of the items here are priced well. However I did find a sneaker that was listed very low below market and turned out to be too good to be true! They were fake nike dunks. Yep St John University size 10 dunks (vnds) listed at $150 while market was at $300+. I'm nervous to know what other items could be illegitimate. If you're coming to buy sneakers i highly recommend that you bring a UV light. I would give 1/5 stars due to the item being fake however because of the great customer service I experienced on 11/23 around 2pm, I'm giving 3 stars. read more

I was trying to sell a Ralph Lauren 100% cashmere perfect condition sweater and Burberry bag. When getting my estimate I was not shown transaction receipt thay shows how much they are giving me my estimate for and much they are willing to sell in their store for and was told by a short man working that he was not able to show the transaction receipt when that is not true anytime I have gone they have shown me the receipt NO MATTER WHAT. He was also VERY VERY VERY RUDE for no reason at all other than that he was mad that i WOULDNT take 100 dollars for those two items which should have been sold at the minimum of 350. If you want to deal possible scamming and shady business practices then this is your spot. I believe this is the second location they have. I could be wrong, but the first one in Sherman oaks is amazing. This location, Pasadena is way smaller compared to the other. Isles are pretty tight and things are all crammed together. I guess you have to utilize the space you have. We were temp checked upon entering. Mask of course was required. The isles are pretty cramped with things all lined and placed on top of the shelves. The selections of vintage items are good. It's just the looking game when you have to scatter through everything. They do have plenty of accessories which is amazing. Handbag, shoes, wallets, belts, hats and so on. Displays cases for the designer was right in the middle wall. Pretty cool place and nice items. Shopping can be a bitch if it's crowded as your walking pass people who's doing the same thing you are. read more

Probably the worst of all the 2nd streets as far as consignment wait times. Staff was beyond inattentive -- too busy having conversations about karaoke with other coworkers to be bothered. I came in with 8 items, and within my wait time of 1.5 hours the person was only able to authenticate two items, and when I asked for an eta on the rest all they could say was "a while." Professionalism was nonexistent, the person even told me how much they were marking up one of the two items I sold to them in comparison to what I was getting. I was paid $40 on an item they told us would be selling at 150. By the rate at which my other two items were authenticated, if I had actually waited for the rest of my items to be authenticated I would have been there for 8 hours on a work shift with them. The worst part was them telling me that the only way they can authenticate is with a chat system in Japan. Definitely do not trust a place that uses a chat system as an authentication service. Don't waste your time here, everything is beyond marked up and buyers clearly have no experience in what they're doing. read more

I really like this store--it's awesome. I've always wanted a shop that sells almost everything, from Nike, Adidas, Jordans, and New Balances to various other clothing brands, even vintage pieces. It's a great spot to find cool stuff, especially shoes. One time, I visited the store (I'm from Redlands), and I found these amazing New Balances, size 11, for just $80. Online, they go for $200, so it was an absolute steal! I've also bought shirts there at great prices, along with other shoes. However, there's one downside to this store: if you're trying to sell clothes, they don't offer great prices. Even if you have expensive or designer brands like Supreme, they'll only give you about $10 for a shirt. If you bring in a whole basket of clothes, they still won't offer much, so I wouldn't recommend selling your items here. You're better off going to another store that pays more fairly. But other than that, this place is fantastic. If you love fashion, you'll find some really cool stuff here! read more

Very cool second hand vintage and collector clothing store with all types of sneaks, jewelry, clothing, bags, etc. large variety and very well organized by brand from everything LV to Supreme. Friendly staff as well. Little higher prices than some others but merch and stir is very well kept and organized. Worth the visit. read more

Somehow they already stopped buying an hour before the usual time, because they had too many things to go through. And told me to come back tomorrow. I said I only had two pairs of shoes, so if he would just take a look and lmk if I should come back. He told me they take everything, EVERYTHING, so I should just come back tomorrow. I was in disbelief (how can they possibly take everything?) so I asked if he could at least lmk the payout for the two pairs of shoes He rejected again saying the prices change depending on the buyers- different buyers offer different prices... ??? How is this possible? I manage too and there's no way that's how a shop works. So I asked, "so it just depends on how lucky I am with the buyers?" He then said everything has to go through him if buyers want to buy for more... so... at the end of the day, each buy does offer the same price... so, no, the prices do not change depending on the buyers if everything has to go through the manager. I was annoyed so I ended up pulling out my shoes to show him anyway. He saw them and told me they do not buy this brand of shoes.... Ok, store manager, didn't you just tell me you guys buy EVERYTHING??? If you were trying to drive away sellers then at least make some good excuses. Thank god I found out he was not making sense and saved myself a trip back. If he would've just been generous to take 2 seconds to look at my shoes then he didn't need to make himself look like a fool. Unfortunately, doing business here was a disappointing experience overall, and you should come in knowing they're going to take advantage of you. Of course you shouldn't expect to make a mint at these places, but when you see how much they mark up - then sell - your items, you'll wish you went somewhere else. Or better yet, donated them to a charity thrift store so at least the money would go to a good cause. When I came in to sell several nice handbags (authentic Kate Spade, gently used, leather - pics below), the staffer handling the buy took less than 10 mins to "assess" the condition and value of the bags. She was super cold and acted like she couldn't be bothered - like, the items I brought in were lame and probably wouldn't possibly re-sell at a decent price. Well, someone give that woman an Oscar! For (4) bags, she basically gave me $13/each. For the brand and condition of the bags, I thought I'd get at least $20/each. But I'm not desperate for the cash, and wanted to just unload them and be done with it. A few weeks later, I went to their website, I saw that ALL the bags had been sold, from $39-$59 each. I feel weirdly ripped off. Should have consigned with RealReal or again - donated the bags to a charity thrift store. But hopefully others can learn from my mistake. read more

Would not recommend this store to sell designer items. The young gentleman who priced my designer item was rude in terms of the way he explained how he decided himself on the pricing, which is funny because I know a lot about designer items and he was 100% wrong about quoting me from a particular website, and even bravely challenged me and let me know where he compared my item from. Maybe if he had been a bit more knowledgeable before speaking and instead of sounding like an ignorant little boy making price guesses, I wouldn't have been so put off by this store. read more
