Been shopping here on and off for the last five years. Found a couple things I liked but prices have gone way up recently. Went in yesterday--the average used t-shirt was $20+. NWT? $30+. At closer inspection a lot of the items have stains (primarily pit stains and yellowing), which doesn't leave you feeling good either. You might as well shop new. Thrifting UO, fashion nova, wild fable, and Levi's for $30 a piece is way too high. read more

Simple thrift store with a good amount of men clothings and a ton of woman clothings. There's no children clothing, so this is catering to adults. Clothing was a hit or miss, some items came out to be pricer for what is should be. I saw a button up shirt that cost $30 and it wasn't in a new tag. Shoes are reasonably priced. The only downside is if you are a petite person like me, there's no XS sizes available. Only sizes small-xlarge. So I couldn't find anything here for myself, but it's fun to look around at the shoes and accessories. read more

The staff is amazing and generally I do very well reselling there. They always welcome you to the store and make conversation with you while going through your items. Management does a great job of training and this past time I actually saw a manager training 2 new people. read more

This store has a mix of clothing, accessories and shoes that are nice and a lot that looks like what you find at the local Goodwill with a much higher price. I know they have to pay rent but I didn't see anything unique or worth what they are charging. I hear it's a place you have to frequent to find the unique items so maybe that's the best strategy. read more

I've been in here a few times and am simply just not impressed. Have never been greeted when entering and pricing isn't great especially for how chaotic it always looks in there. For the amount of items they have they really need a bigger space. It's like a hoarders house in there. Which it takes a certain type of person to not be completely overwhelmed and overstimulated by the environment. I also noticed a lot of repeat items that seemed new. There are probably diamonds in the rough but overstimulating is the best word to describe this location. The space just isn't there to accommodate items and the customer service is non existent it appears. read more

My favorite place to thrift!! I've never been a thrift shopper until buffalo - they have a great mix of in style clothing and fun pieces for a good price. All the staff is super friendly! I've sold lots of clothes here and they are very transparent in walking you through the process of what they take and don't take. I've been successful in selling my clothes but I also appreciate that they aren't too particular with brands/ quality but do care enough to filter out super cheap items. I've been able to find a lot of good staple wardrobe pieces and feel good about shopping sustainably! They don't do bags in store so you have to carry the clothes that you buy out, or bring your own bag. read more

Very nice staff! Incredibly friendly, helpful, and tolerant of the crowds! I'm visiting in the area and popped in here to check it out. I cannot believe how busy it was, but they said that's normal for a weekend. I'm not a crowd person so will definitely be back during a slower weekday. Wish i could leave a zero!!!! DO NOT GO HERE! Do not go to this place it's so bad and the staff are so rude. I brought in three full bags of clothes and they only took two tee shirts and gave me $4. Then when i was leaving they proceeded to tell me that they found underwear and in my bag so i came home and looked thru all of my bags and found what they call "underwear" they are shorts from Victorias secret their tag literally says sleepwear like how dumb can u be! Expect to pay full price for used clothing. It's become a sick trend in the city to rob true thrift stores used clothing just to resell it in their store for three times the price. It would actually be refreshing to see a true thrift store in the city. read more

Besides it being cluttered, messy and really dusty. They don't have a bathroom. I was there maybe 20 minutes and three people asked to use the restroom. I mentioned it to the manager that they are loosing business because guess what if you have to use the restroom they recommend going across the street which more than likely you will not return. She mentioned that it's store policy that they have chemicals out & it's a liability. What a lame excuse! Treat your customers better & at least offer a bathroom! Not going there again. read more

I've visited Carytown several times to shop and walk around but had never wandered into Buffalo Exchange. It's got parking right in front and is surrounded by plenty of other stores but this one is a used clothing store with tons and tons of options such as dresses, shirts, pants and shoes. Seemed like the style was more hipster - but it was fun to look around. You won't find any super high end items in here - I didn't - but you can find some trendy pieces like rompers and boots and belts. read more

Staff is super friendly and upbeat! They didn't buy a ton of my stuff, but they seem pretty well stocked. Great place to go for a theme party if you need something in particular, or just to find unique items! Wish they had more of an athletic wear section in terms of shopping, but other than that- great experience the two times I've been! read more

Really bothered by their customer service on my most recent visit. No one was in the store upon my arrival and both associates were at the front registers and didn't greet me as a customer walking in. It definitely didn't make me feel comfortable or welcome to the store. One lady came out from the back of the store, once I made my way back there to browse, and she was very cheerful and said hello and asked if I needed any assistance. I'm just thinking about common courtesy as a guest to your stores; should be a lot better. read more

So glad we exchanged the previous tenant for this store! If you've never been, think of it as a little nicer, a little more hipster Goodwill. Large selection of women's and men's clothing, shoes, jewelry, sunglasses, patches and purses. You can find items that are new with tags on, but most of the inventory is secondhand. I found a really unique vintage shirt here today. They have plenty of dressing rooms and I don't think there's a limit to how much you can try on so don't be shy. I'm usually an XS but they only have S M L and XL organized to help you find your size; I was able to find some XS in the SMALL section. It was tons of fun to look for some good finds, but once I got to the check out line it took forever to finish that process. They asked me if I wanted to buy a reuse able tote for 2 dollars and I said yes. You can also sell or donate your own clothes here as well. read more

Such a disappointing experience. I tried returning an item (within the allowed window, with tags), but because I had received a $1 (o-n-e d-o-l-l-a-r) discount because the item was damaged, my return was deemed ineligible by a manager. Not only is this ridiculous because it's literally a dollar, I also was not told by the manager who approved the discount that this would make the item ineligible for a return. As a manager, that is a duty you have in a situation like that -- notify the customer that the sale is final when you give them a discount due to damage. On top of all of this, the manager was rude and condescending in their tone and choice of words. It's just so unbelievable that the management ignored the fact that I wasn't told about this policy when we should have been, *and* for them to be rude about it when I inquired further. read more

This is an amazing store, i wouldn't have even known it was there until i parked in front and saw it on my way to my car, but going inside was a great decision! This store has tons of AMAZING and trendy clothes. All the employees are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and the prices are amazing for the clothes you're getting. A $160 pair of shoes was $40 here (and totally worth it!). I highly recommend this place for anyone and everyone! read more

I was very disappointed in the experience I had at Buffalo Exchange this past week. I was on the fence about purchasing a white jacket that had a stain on the sleeve and at the counter, I asked if it was possible to receive a discount for the item due to the stain. They agreed to a $1 discount on a $21 item. I thought about it for a second and agreed. However, after a few days I changed my mind and decided to return the item, tag still attached, within the 5 day return window. When I arrived back at the store they refused the return because of the $1 discount on the item, saying that this made it a "sale item" and sale items are final sale. However, we were NOT told this when they gave us the $1(!) discount and if we had, we would not have purchased it to begin with. After discussing with the manager for a few minutes, they persisted that this was the case and became progressively more rude and they asked "are you going to continue begging me." It is understandable to enforce policy but, this was a situation that did not fit neatly into their policy and, it was their responsibility to inform us of that upon purchase, which they did NOT do. Additionally, as the manager it is their responsibility to be kind to customers and not rude. Lastly, as a manager, it is their responsibility to recognize when an employee did NOT disclose the policy appropriately upon purchase. I am extremely disappointed in this experience and in the manager's inability to appropriately handle this situation in a kind way that also recognized and apologized for the error on their part in not stating that the $1 discount would make the item ineligible for return. HORRIBLE customer service. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! I had a store credit and had lost my card. However, I had taken a picture of the card. Buffalo Exchange scanned the photo and verified that I had $87.50 credit but they would not let me use the credit because the card was lost. They would not issue a new card. Instead, they gave me a $25. gift card. I lost $62.50 in store credit! This is like losing a bank card and they take all the money you had in the bank. I feel robbed and will never shop there again. read more

Buffalo Exchange is great!!! The staff is extremely kind and welcoming, which makes a big difference. I have bought and sold from Buffalo Exchange and had very positive experiences with both. They have a great selection of clothing, a nice store layout, lots of dressing rooms, and lots of shoes! They also contribute to wonderful charities which you can see by the register.
