I've been to this store a few times, always hoping to get a better experience. They always seem to have a lot of staff which is great but they just hang out at the wrap stand chatting. There were sign's everywhere saying to respect their store hours. I guess some customers don't leave fast enough which I'm shocked it's such a problem it warrants signs in every corner. I guess the employees can't wait to get home. Most small businesses are accommodating especially when sales are few. The store looks really dated and the selection is meh but it's really the snotty vibe that is a turn off. I'm shocked they are still open. read more

I'm glad it's not called Irresisterbles because that would sound incestuous. What a cute little clothing store! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it's a little pricy for my tastes, but a lot of places are these days. It was a good experience with positive friendly service. The girl I was with couldn't be torn out of here, bought several items (paid too much for them - or rather I did, but she's worth it, and looks great in them)... lots of chatter with the employee. I wouldn't say it's a hipster clothing store, it's more of a fashion boutique with unusual stuff and things that really stand out. I don't know much about clothing but I know I really like this store, and I can't imagine Richmond having a better boutique-like place for women's clothing. read more

Great clothing store - good mix of national and boutique brands. I moved to Richmond a few months ago and have been in several times to pick up an outfit and some gifts. Why 4 stars? They have a lot of "regulars" and I've noticed they get preferential treatment - twice I was passed over at the counter for customers the saleswomen knew. read more

This is one of the snobbiest stores in town, I have been in several times and the sales clerks never acknowledge that you are there. They stand behind the counter and ignore you like it is a bother to be there. The one and only time I ever bought any thing there when I went to the counter to pay for the item the clerk looked at the price tag and then asked me if I realized how expensive the item was, like I was too poor to afford it. I should have just walked away but didn't want to give her the satisfaction that I could not afford it. I am a CEO of a financial institution and make over a 6 figure income, so I can afford anything I want. There are far too may other retail stores in town to shop at so save your money and go somewhere else. I can't believe this store has stayed open as long as it has with this type of customer service. I'm sure the owner is just as stuck up and snobby as the staff, otherwise where would they learn how to be so rude. Don't go there unless you want to be ignored and mistreated. read more

I enjoy shopping at Irresistibles not only because they have beautiful clothes but the ladies who work there are top notch. Located in the strip of shops at the intersection of Libbie and Grove, this is a great women's boutique! The service is top-notch. All of the lovely ladies that work here are nice, friendly, helpful and actually know about the product they are selling (such a departure from department stores and malls). They offer complimentary gift wrap and if they are out of something in your size can call one of their other stores and have it sent in for you (the chain, which is family-owned, has another store in Charlottesville, 2 stores in MD, 1 in CT, and 8 in MA). They carry lots of lines that you can't find or can't find easily elsewhere such as Eileen Fisher, Olsen, Vineyard Vines and Lilly Pulitzer (though they can't list this on their website since there is a signature store in Richmond but they do carry Lilly, too). They carry standard sizes (0/2 to 14/16). All of the clothes are very well made--nothing cheap, flimsy or sloppy. There are always several different looks available in the store--everything from uber preppy, to classic Virginia Ladies-who-Lunch, to a more relaxed, liberal/hippy Northeastern woman vibe, to slightly edgy/more trendy. The chain does have a website with its most recent collections on it (http://www.irresistibles.com). Besides from the Lilly P stuff, most of the clothes are aimed at women in the 30s/40s. There are lots for younger and older women, too, but I believe that the early 30s is the demographic that they are most trying to reach. (For example, slightly younger than Talbots or Chicos, similar to Anne Taylor, but not the Limited or anything as funky as on Cary street.) They are open 9:30 to 6, Monday through Saturday and from 12 to 5 on Sundays. Sundays are always the least crowded day, so the best time to go--though you'll get great service any time. In addition to clothes, they also sell accessories (purses, scarves, hats, gloves), jewelry, and some small knick-knacks (sometimes candlesticks, or books, or a few Christmas ornaments over the holidays, items for a baby gift, etc.) Also, note that there is parking behind the shop, too, and a back door through which you can enter (little known secret). This is a great store with well-made, tailored, good-looking and different from the mall clothes and excellent customer service. Check it out! read more

No reviews since 2008? Good grief, come one ladies, this is a very nice clothing store let's give it some love. In an era trending more and more toward cheap junque it's a pleasure to walk into a store with such lovely curated clothing. It's not overwhelming the way some stores can be and the staff are very nice and helpful without a trace of the snooterdoodle attitude some boutiques serve up. There always seems to be a sale going on so grab your purse and head on over to the irresistible Irresistibles (and snag a cupcake at Pearl's when you finish). read more

I returned a pair of Lisette pants to store a week ago which were damaged. They told me the manager would be in the next day and would get back to me. I have not heard. I walked by Irresistibles on Saturday morning and noticed a dress in the window I liked. I went inside to hopefully try it on and found I was the only customer in the store. A young lady named Claire was the only sales associate in the store and she was on the phone briefly while I was there. I quickly noticed Irresistibles only has one or two (large) sizes in each dress/clothing. I found the dress I liked but they only had one dress, one size. More disturbing, Claire didn't look up or speak the entire time I looked around. I can't be certain but she may have whispered a 'hello' when I walked in the store but I can't say for sure. There was no warmth, no small conversation, no 'let me know if I can help you with anything' and definitely no 'thank you for stopping by' as I left. Apparently I was a bother to Claire so I left. Here's a piece of advice to the manager of Irrestibles.....train your staff to make people feel welcome. Or better yet, hire people who speak. If you are going to charge $278.00 for an average dress with a 'label' then customers expect service. There are too many choices in Richmond and I will happily spread the word that this establishment is sub-par. Inexcusable! read more
