Believe me, root canals aren't easy! Imagine snaking a .6mm clogged drain, upside down, looking through a mirror. Not to mention people are terrified of getting root canals, but the horror stories you hear are of the toothache that made you need one, not the actual procedure. Yes, we dentists are creepily noisy, it's hard holding your mouth open, etc, but the procedure was completely painless and afterwards, I had some nice hot coffee, and later some ice water, forgetting that I no longer had to contort my tongue to cover up my previously painful tooth!
