Great selection of beers on tap, including local brews from Beavers Bend Brewery. We shared the delicious, juicy buffalo burger and each had a side salad with their yummy homemade ranch. Just tried this today - had our 117 lb English Labrador with us - he's a bit nervous in settings and they were wonderful about placing us in the most out of way spot. He settled right in and we were able to enjoy the great atmosphere and food. Our server was great - pup approved of her as well. Had the fries with brisket and queso to start with and those were very good. Hubby got the cowboy burger and said it was great and I had the Buffalo burger which was cooked just right and very good as well. This place was so cute(lots of fun decor) and they had great food/drinks for a really good price. We sat at the bar and talked with a local couple. Our bartender was really nice and provided excellent service. Someone accidentally poured someone the wrong beer and she gave it to us. We split a burger and asparagus. My old fashioned was made just right. The food was very tasty. I didn't even have to add salt/pepper to the asparagus. Read the reviews and this seemed like a nice little dinner restaurant. The ambiance is great. The drinks are top tier as well. But the food was not as good as we thought it would be. We got the Mac and cheese skillet and the chicken fried steak. The chicken fried steak was fried very well and had a nice flavor, but was chewy. The Mac and cheese had a terrible flavor. Came here for lunch and it did not disappoint! This is a relaxed, food in basket and cold beer in glass kind of place. The place was pretty busy, but it was lunch time on a Saturday. Staff was very friendly and got our drinks and took our order pretty quick. I ordered the buffalo burger with sweet potato fries and it was amazing! Burger was very big and there was a good portion of fries to go with it! Only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 was due to the service AFTER we ordered. We did get our food at a reasonable amount of time but the waitress did not interact with us that much, which meant we were all out of drinks waiting to flag her down for refills. My husband and I ate here for lunch on a Thursday. It took over 35 minutes to get our food after we ordered. Almost all the tables were waiting for a very long time. I ordered the Smokey Club. I didn't receive what I ordered. I received a ham sandwich. There was no turkey, bacon or cheese on the sandwich. My husband got the catfish. The catfish was pretty decent. We overheard that they were short on kitchen staff, yet they kept sitting people and not setting expectations of delays. One table walked out. They were there before us and we got our food before them. It didn't seem like there was manager on staff helping the wait staff to deal with this. It was pretty disappointing. read more

This looked like a new place with how clean it is, but may have been here for a while now. They've got a nice patio and bar area. Burgers are ok, but there sandwiches and plate items are really good. Food was great, atmosphere was fun and we could sit outside because the tables all have heaters which was great. The burgers were great and so were the chicken strips and the cheesy fries at the beginning. My husband's catfish was okay... We all still really enjoyed our experience. There's not too much to choose from in Hochatown; but it's getting better. This place has an ok menu, for the most part it's fried or just has bbq. The food wasn't terrible but it wasn't amazing either. My favorite dish was probably the brisket potato. It is nice they have indoor and outdoor seating. read more

The good: the food was very tasty and offered a wide selection for our larger group. The bad: the service and the adult beverages were off. Not sure if our waitress was new and didn't have a clue or just didn't want to be there and didn't care. We ordered queso with bottomless chips...we had to go ask another waitress for more chips (again a large group) and by the time we got the chips the queso was cold and not so great anymore. The first drinks we ordered were wrong...salt instead of sugar rim on a strawberry margarita, and way too much lime juice and not much vodka or cranberry juice for a cosmo. Several people at the table tasted it, and all agreed it tasted like a glass of lime juice. The ugly: I get that a party of more than 8 is going to be charged gratuity, and I tip very well. However, you HAVE to show the customer the bill and not just give them a number. For our party of 9, the bill was $266 as I was told. I was asked if I was paying cash, which I was...so I gave our waitress $280. She came back with $10 in change. It took me a minute to think that something wasn't right. I finally found her again and asked for a receipt. She walked away and was gone for over 5 minutes (the restaurant at this point was closing, so I am not sure where she went). I went to the hostess stand and when she saw me she started getting the receipt. I wanted to go over it, because quick math wasn't mathing....the saddest part was that she ended up with a mandatory $39 tip when we had to ask other servers and people working there to get refills, chips, corrected drinks, and missing items from our orders. What was supposed to be a fun last night for my daughter's 16th birthday trip was not so much fun for some of us! At least the lake was amazing! Again, the food was amazing! read more
