First off, he was 15min late after saying he would arrive in 5min - but I'm used to local taxi's pulling that, so it didn't bother me. As soon as I stepped into the car, I was asked if I was paying cash or credit. When I said cash, the driver said "Oh, then I don't have to turn the meter on!" - which confused me, but then he immediately followed up with "If dispatch calls you, tell them that you canceled the ride and don't need it anymore". Clearly, the man was going to pocket the money and not tell his boss that he ever picked me up. The ride ended up being $14 from Elmwood to Allentown - a mere two miles. $7 a mile is pretty ridiculous. The second time I was forced into using the service, they told me my driver would arrive "hopefully in 15-20min, we don't know if we have any available drivers" - what? How do you not know where your own cars are? I told them to forget about it, and I began to walk to the bus instead, and received a call not even 3 minutes later saying my driver was outside. Amazing. I get in and was warmly welcomed - the driver had the meter going for me, and was generally pleasant. He got me there a lot quicker than I thought he would. Quick to show up, kind, and quick to drop me off - that man seems to be an anomaly within this dreadful cab service. He should be running this place! Apparently Uber & Lyft are coming to Buffalo real soon, but if this cab service is my only option until then, it really cannot come soon enough.

The driver was a character, and while he got us home quickly, we were a bit scared for our safety due to his speeding. I accidentally left my iPhone in the taxi, which I discovered later that evening. We called twice, and were told the driver looked for it but didn't find it. We called several days later but nothing was reported in the Lost & Found. My conclusion? Either the driver took it, or one of his passengers did. I realize the company can't do anything if it was a passenger, but it was still an overall frustrating experience.
