I spoke with a receptionist at 11:30 am & had to be there by 1:00pm . I got there a little early . They have a nice big parking lot, so that was a plus. Inside is very spacious. They have two doors, one to go into the ophthalmology department, and one to go into the eye care store, where you buy your glasses. They have really cool lighting inside, and the whole office plus store just looks really nice. There were three receptionist working, which was very handy because someone else was there before me being taken care of already, so I got to get taken care of right away as well. I got called into the back in just a few minutes, took an eye test told the nurse or technician the problems that I was having with my eye, and thankfully, it's nothing she hasn't heard before. That was a big relief. Then I had to go see the ophthalmologist. It was a short wait. He was very nice, very talkative, explained everything I needed to know. Give me an eye exam, a real exam with the lights in the eyes and the machine and all that stuff. And was able to diagnose what was wrong with my eye. He told me what was going to happen eventually, what was happening now, and what I would have to do in the near future. Explain things very well and in easy terms, that anybody can understand, thank God. Lol. Everybody was so nice there. I had to deal with two receptionists, one nurse/technician and the ophthalmologist, and they were all so friendly and so nice. The whole place inside is very clean and decorated nicely. They seem to have a large variety of glasses, way more than a place that I go to now has. I have to go back in a month, and I do not regret having to go back because it was a good experience. I would definitely refer anybody I know to come here for your Eye Care needs.

They don't have automatic doors or a handicap button which makes getting a wheelchair in and out of two sets of double doors, extremely difficult, and no one has ever offered to help but will just sit and watch us struggle. Dr. Gulati says all the right stuff like hello and have a nice day but his delivery and flat and unbothered. The place inside is clean and quiet. My eye exam was Saturday, I called this office Monday morning and had an appointment for Tuesday at 730 a.m. Was greeted as soon as walking in. The office was clean and spacious. Check in was easy and she was very friendly. Got taken back immediately for some pre testing before seeing the doctor. She was extremely nice, and explained everything she was going to do before doing it. I was seen by Dr. Ruff. I found him extremely professional, friendly, very knowledgeable. He took the time answer all my questions. He was very thorough in performing his testing, and again he explained everything prior to doing. He was gentle, can be scary seeing things poked in your eye ball. Hate that I had to be seen, but the experience was very good. I would highly recommend the office if ever in need. I made an appointment with Schoene as my regular doctor was away. As soon as I walked in the room the doctor was already confused and frustrated with me, literally as I sat down. She refused to listen to the patient (me), and would not let me explain why I was there. She kept misdiagnosing me with newly acquired halo effect, which I've had for 18 years. She checked my eyesight so rapidly- changing lenses on me with no time to even adjust or read- then would get frustrated that I would ask to see through the various lenses again. She talked as if she was superior and very intellectual in her mind. She talked down to me in a snide tone- "I'm TRYING to help you!"- I was not arguing or raising my voice, but she seemed to insist on confrontation. She actually interrogated me like I was a convict at one point when I told her one lens looked better to me- "You JUST SAID the other was better!" She was switching lenses so fast I got confused on which was which. The worst was obviously how she talked to me- the patient- but she insulted the staff and doctor in front of me also, which was highly unprofessional. She talked down about my Doctor- telling her helper in the room "See if she (my doctor) even bothered to do this test...". She said it very condescending, and was trying to cause distrust in my doctor. I have been going there many years, so I trust my doctor and realize this lady is very unprofessional. She also talked down about my doctors staff in front of me, complaining that the tech was basically incompetent because she dilated my eyes. She claimed she couldn't do a test due to it- and wanted me to make an appointment off site for the test- by the way, my doctor has the machine at her facility, and did the test yesterday- the dilated eyes make no difference for this specific test. The worst thing is I am a human being with sharply declining eyesight- I go to this doctor for help, and I had to PAY to get insulted, frustrated, get no help, and be fearful that my eyesight would worsen before a real professional doctor came back. She gave me no written information on my diagnosis, I left very confused. My doctor came back this week, and I saw her- so I am now being taken care of by a competent doctor.

I really liked this provider at one time. I really tried not to give a bad review of Clarence Eye…read moreCenter and Dr Murphy but i could no longer hold off on this. When i first saw Dr Murphy he changed the way I see. I have an eye condition that causes me to see multiples. The solve for that is Scleral Lenses. They are very expensive and I got several pairs from Clarence Eye Center. For the first time in over 10 years, I was able to see clearly and only one of everything! He charges a $250 fitting fee for each eye, at least he did last time I last got lenses from him. This was to include the fitting fee for each eye including all scans to properly fit them as well as free follow ups for each eye to get the fit just right. The last pair I bought, on the last fitting, which should have been included, they billed my insurance for a routine eye exam. When i called to inquire they apologized but said they would not retract their claim from the insurance company. They offered me a "credit" for my next routine exam. I explained that I go to Fichte for routine eye exams and that I only see them for my lenses. They still refused to withdraw the claim. I could have at that point pushed to claim insurance fraud on them but since i just got resolved with my vision for what is usually a year or more i decided to not embarrass them with an insurance fraud claim. I figured that i would just find a new Scleral lense provider in the future even if I had to drive an hour to see them. Now, I am in the process of getting new lenses and my new provider reached out to them to get my records to get a baseline and not have to start from scratch and they have told my new provider that they cannot help them as they never did any scans of my eyes. That is a blatant lie since they needed to do the scans to fit me with the lenses. Moral of the story, Scleral Lenses are life changing, just don't go to Clarence Eye Center for them. Save yourself the headache and seek out a different provider.

I went to Dr. Cotter with dry eye symptoms. When I kept my second appointment, I explained that I…read morehadn't been able to do all the treatments because I was working long hours around the clock on a particular job, which would last a few more weeks. I would give anything to have cancelled that appointment. He went to his desk and mumbled the saying "you can lead a horse to water... ". Then he told me to sit at the machine they use to look at your eyes and he poked in my eyes. Next he said he had implanted plugs in my tear ducts. Without telling me ahead of time, nor discussing the choice of plug materials (nor possible side effects, nor the purpose, nor alternatives, nor anything else). I always extensively research any medical choices ahead of making decisions. I had him take them out before I left. However the look of the area under my eyes was ruined, seemingly permanently, and at my emergency return appointment the other provider I was scheduled with said they couldn't see anything wrong. The practice denies that the insertion of those silicon plugs could cause the side effect and offered no remedies to repair the damage. Overnight I was made to look older which affects my employability, not just any former attractiveness. The attitude of the office seems to be that the change is "all in my head", but I'm a portrait artist and very attentive to visual detail, as well as a former National Merit Finalist who gets their facts straight.
