Sometimes we cannot afford to pay up front so we located another practice recommended by a friend which will submit the bill to our insurance and allow us to pay the balance. I showed up and checked in, then the front desk asked me to pay $100 copay, I told them Tricare covers 100% on the annual exam and x-ray and cleaning twice a year. Then they told me oh we are NOT in the Tricare network and you need to pay a copay $100! WHAT!!! WHY DID NOT TELL ME ON THE PHONE WHEN I CALLED THE FIRST TIME???!!!! I said then I do not want to proceed with the appointment and about to walk out, the manager saw that I was about to leave, she said oh I can just bill your insurance and waive the copay, since you are already here, I do not want to turn you away. We will just do the x-ray and you can take the images to another dental which is in the network. I accepted and proceeded with the x-ray. I was SO WRONG!! I really really should have left! Later of the day I found another dentist on Tricare Dental Program website and called them and told them what happened earlier today. I was told that: 1) they would need to do their own full mouth X-ray and not accepting what other dentist has done due to liability 2) Tricare only covers full mouth x-ray once every year, I would need to pay out of pocket for the second one. This place wants to make money so bad that they totally abused my insurance coverage! They knew clearly I had Tricare and they could not do any cleaning or needed treatment for me! Even they waived the $100 copay but they submitted $$$ claim to my insurance! Yeah, they got paid from insurance! Now I have to pay for another X-ray out of pocket! (Strahler was the previous owner, and before that, Penshorn to clear up confusion in how it may be listed on Google, and Dr. Penshorn still works there ). They assisted me through the process of applying for Care Credit and Alphaeon so I could pay for my services, emailing the links to make it quick and easy. I chose to get a full set of x-rays done (but I had the option to do a limited exam for only my problem tooth if I preferred or had limited funds). I'll be coming back in one week to get my temporary crown & deep cleaning, and 4 weeks later I'll get my permanent crown, which is porcelain, not silver, so I can still have a confident smile. They are all very personable, friendly, welcoming, and real. Every person. I have complete confidence in this team and the dentist to give me the best care. The office is clean and inviting. They offer complimentary products to brush your teeth in the lobby bathroom before your appointment (if you so wish) so you don't feel embarrassed coming in after lunch. He doesn't introduce himself, barely interacts, and often just walks in and out without much explanation. It honestly makes me question the purpose of coming in when I could just manage my trays at home and track my own progress at this point. I've also seen that others have had similar concerns. From what I've found, he also has negative reviews elsewhere outside of this practice as well, so this experience feels inconsistent and concerning. I really wish there was more transparency and a higher standard of patient care. At the end of the day, I don't understand keeping a provider who doesn't seem to prioritize patient experience.

I had this dentist install 2 implants, lower molars 1 on each side…read more They did good with 1 molar but failed on the second one. The tooth they used was too small but they installed it anyway. I complained about the tooth packing with food every time I ate anything. Because it was too small, food filled the gaps on both sides every time. It looks like a child's tooth in my mouth. They refused to do anything about it. I have to go to another dentist to have this corrected. You know the old saying you get what you pay for, it applies here. Then I requested a crown to be placed on 1 of my upper molar's which was giving me some discomfort. This dentist identified this chipped molar prior to me, keep this in mind. The dentist refused to place a crown on the molar unless I pay for teeth cleaning first, my teeth are pearl white. They just wanted to make more money. The cleaning was a scam as far as I'm concerned. This outfit needs to be reported for its poor business practices, and refusing medical attention to a tooth in need. In a nutshell, this is a 50/50 dentist at best. They just want your money, this is not quality dentistry. You get what you pay for, poor quality and service.

Another time I paid in cash and the girl said I could have any change because it was locked up in the office and I said that was unprofessional. She said I'd have to come back later in the day. Weird. So moments later Dr. Enriquez comes around the corner with the key, opens the office and gets my change but also has a mini counseling session with me about what I said. So was the girl at the counter just afraid to ask for the keys? The last thing was my mask. The whole idea of wearing one to a dental appointment is just mental. I took my daughter and they didn't like the one I was wearing and I declined the one I was offered. In May of 2020 when I heard Abbott was making a mask order I went to JoAnne's and bought a yard of eyelash lace and some elastic. I used it for a face covering and it actually did the same thing as every other mask. So I guess after that, much like Andy on Shawshank when Tommy got murdered, they decided it was time to part ways and sent me a letter that my family's dental needs would be better served elsewhere. On August 16, 2025, I had a permanent crown placed on my right front tooth. During the next 2 weeks…read moreI had mild then progressively worsening pain, redness, and swelling on that tooth. I had chemical allergy testing done and it was determined that I WAS allergic to the compounds used for my temporary crown. I provided that information to the dentist on Sept 22, 2025, who assured me the materials to be used for the permanent crown would be different than the materials that were used for the temporary crown. I started having an allergic reaction in the car on my way home, that got progressively worse; the worst being extreme swelling and redness of my lips, gums, and face and constant peeling lips. I contacted Ideal Dentals corporate office, gave them all the information, requested a refund to my Care Credit account, and requested my dental records. I have not received either of those. I went back to my allergist, whose office called Ideal Dental. The office at Ideal Dental told my allergists office that the materials used for my permanent crown were the same materials that were used for my temporary crown. THEY BASICALLY USED MATERIALS THAT THEY KNEW I WAS ALLERGIC TO, AND LIED ABOUT IT. I filed a formal complaint with TSBDE (Texas State Board of Dental Examiners) in October 2025. Their preliminary investigation warranted a bump up to a full investigation, the result of which I'm still waiting on. It's been almost a year and TSBDE has still not resolved this issue. I held off writing an online review, but I've been waiting too long. Particularly since there is a two-year deadline for filing a dental malpractice suit.

Vickie took us on a tour of the whole office which is state of the art, well organized, and beautiful. She helped us with a basic run-down of the experience as well as a little of her personal testimony about braces in general. Both were very helpful as we were clueless. We waited just a bit for Dr. K as she is working in Stone Oak as well for now. Both Vickie and Chuck were talkative and made us feel at home. Dr. K arrived and talked us through the options. She was so thorough and was making us feel understood. She allowed us to schedule the very next week and in order to save time, allowed us to do the pre-braces checklist for pictures and place spacers before we left to save us time. We are at the appointment now to place the braces. They have a variety of payment options to include: CareCredit, an in-house payment plan with down payment, and a percentage off of the total if paid in full. Not sure if this is a promotion but either way, great options. They do take Tricare and are considered in-network which is always a plus. Now for the amenities, I posted pictures which do it no justice but the facility has a brushing station, game room with free Pacman and a charging station for devices. Their medical equipment is top of line. NO GOOPY MOLDS!! They use 3D imaging and it's amazing to be able to see the potential end product. Their X-ray machine is new and very quick.
