I showed up and checked in, then the front desk asked me to pay $100 copay, I told them Tricare covers 100% on the annual exam and x-ray and cleaning twice a year. Then they told me oh we are NOT in the Tricare network and you need to pay a copay $100! WHAT!!! WHY DID NOT TELL ME ON THE PHONE WHEN I CALLED THE FIRST TIME???!!!! I said then I do not want to proceed with the appointment and about to walk out, the manager saw that I was about to leave, she said oh I can just bill your insurance and waive the copay, since you are already here, I do not want to turn you away. We will just do the x-ray and you can take the images to another dental which is in the network. I accepted and proceeded with the x-ray. I was SO WRONG!! I really really should have left! Later of the day I found another dentist on Tricare Dental Program website and called them and told them what happened earlier today. I was told that: 1) they would need to do their own full mouth X-ray and not accepting what other dentist has done due to liability 2) Tricare only covers full mouth x-ray once every year, I would need to pay out of pocket for the second one. This place wants to make money so bad that they totally abused my insurance coverage! They knew clearly I had Tricare and they could not do any cleaning or needed treatment for me! Even they waived the $100 copay but they submitted $$$ claim to my insurance! Yeah, they got paid from insurance! Now I have to pay for another X-ray out of pocket! I complained about the tooth packing with food every time I ate anything. Because it was too small, food filled the gaps on both sides every time. It looks like a child's tooth in my mouth. They refused to do anything about it. I have to go to another dentist to have this corrected. You know the old saying you get what you pay for, it applies here. Then I requested a crown to be placed on 1 of my upper molar's which was giving me some discomfort. This dentist identified this chipped molar prior to me, keep this in mind. The dentist refused to place a crown on the molar unless I pay for teeth cleaning first, my teeth are pearl white. They just wanted to make more money. The cleaning was a scam as far as I'm concerned. This outfit needs to be reported for its poor business practices, and refusing medical attention to a tooth in need. In a nutshell, this is a 50/50 dentist at best. They just want your money, this is not quality dentistry. You get what you pay for, poor quality and service.

GVDA seemed to think the extractor would not extract without the temporary insert. Or maybe expected the extractor surgeon to create the "flipper" But turns out no one made anything. If you have an extraction on the calendar cancel it if no one has a temporary tooth to fit in the gap. This was a bad case of assuming. And we know what happens when folks assUme. I hope from here on out no one else will be left without a replacement tooth. To you young consumer of dental services all I can say is make sure there is a seamless transition with neither referring doctor or extracting doctor assuming the other has done what should have been done. Had I known there was no "flipper" I would have cancelled even though it would have meant wasting some PTO time. In the technical skill level sense everyone at GVDA was technically competent and met or exceeded all practice standards. Aside from this hiccup all care I received was superlative. The onus is on us as patients to trust but verify any prosthetic gets made PRIOR to a major dental surgery such as the one I had at Live Oak Periodontal.

I called Oasis up and made an appointment to fix my filling. They already have my records, and maybe I'd get back into the habit of regular cleanings. They saw me 2 days after my filling fell out. Awesome. I go to my appointment. They take xrays and ask me questions about the severity of my missing filling. I've got no pain, it just needs to be replaced. They say they don't have time to fix it today and that I need another appointment. Apparently it'll take an hour. I was hoping to get it done, but no biggie. They can see me in a week. I take time off work to get my filling replaced. On my way out of my neighborhood they call and tell me they're pushing me back. Ok. Things happen. I get seated in a room 15 minutes after my appointment. Now my blood pressure is 2 points too high. They use one of those cheap electronic BP cuffs. I'm sitting in this dentist chair hoping my BP drops so I can get this work done that I tried to schedule a week and a half ago. They take my blood pressure 2 more times with the cheap cuff, tell me a few things about ADA regulations, and boot me out the door. I worked in healthcare. When a cheap BP cuff reads high, usually someone takes a manual pressure which is more accurate. I was 2 points high, probably at least partly caused by them delaying my appointment and now they won't treat me. If you didn't want me as a patient because I stopped routine cleanings 4 years ago, have the decency to tell me and not waste my time at 2 appointments. You could have told me last week that I should find a new dentist and I would have understood. Dr Galles may be an ok dentist but he is not an ok person.
