I've returned several times since then and my experiences have been consistently positive. Restaurants tend to have high employee turnover rates, and can have personnel issues from time to time - especially on challenging days when they're getting slammed like on that Mother's Day. So here's my redemption review... This LongHorn Steakhouse is located on the north side of Interstate 2 (Expressway 83) in Weslaco, in front of the JCP and Academy stores and in between Texas Blvd. And N. Bridge Road. The current management has maintained the property well. It is a handsome building with the trademark stonework facade, nicely landscaped, with ample, well lit parking. It is handicapped accessible, and high chairs for toddlers are available. It would be good for small groups as well as family get-togethers, and business lunch or date night. They offer their signature steaks, burgers, salmon, chicken, some comfort food like their excellent mac n cheese, salads, and more. I met some friends here for a late lunch on a Saturday around 4 PM. There was no wait. Our server did an incredible job, was friendly, attentive, and checked back on us several times. She kept our drinks filled and even offered a to-go cup as we were wrapping up. The fresh baked bread and butter was delicious, served along with our drinks while we looked over the menu. I ordered the 8 ounce sirloin, a loaded baked potato, and the crispy Brussels sprouts. I noticed the potato had a lot of salt encrusted on the skin, but since I did not eat the skin, it was not a problem - though it could be an issue for those on low-sodium diets. The Brussels Sprouts were crispy on the outside for the most part... I would have enjoyed them more a bit crisper and with some Balsamic vinager, but they were still pretty good. The steak was cooked as requested and delicious. My friends also enjoyed their orders. There was some background music, but it was at a decent level so it did not hinder our conversation. I really enjoyed this visit and dining experience, recommend this LongHorn Steakhouse, and based on my last three visits am awarding them the full five stars.

We checked in again with the hostess at the front, telling her it was a party of 18. She said it would be a one-hour wait, so we decided to wait since that is what my daughter wanted for her birthday. We literally saw people getting there and being seated right away. They ate their food, and we even saw them leaving the restaurant. By then, we had already waited for more than two hours. We decided to ask for a manager to see what the holdup was. In front of the manager, the hostess said, "Well, the waiters don't want a party of 18." She then started making gestures, showing she did not care if we got seated or not. The whole idea that LongHorn thrives on customer service was absolutely not the case here. My daughter's birthday dinner was completely ruined due to the lack of customer service. We were never even acknowledged while waiting for more than two hours. Without serving customers, you wouldn't have jobs.

Had to go up to the window, the girl let me know their texting service doesn't work, and my food was cold. I was upset but took it home and ate it disappointed because I didn't want to wait even longer. Learned my lesson and came later than the expected pickup time, parked, when I texted it said it wasn't ready so I waited 10 minutes before proceeding to the window. It took forever for anyone to come to the window, and even more time the 2nd time when I realized there was stuff missing from the bag. It wasn't until 20 minutes later that I got a text saying my food was ready and they were bringing it to my car. In total I was there 25+ minutes, every curbside spot was taken and I never saw a single employee take food to the cars. It makes me wonder if there really is something wrong with their texting line or if they're poorly managed and it's a "them" problem. The whole point of curbside service is so I don't have to get out of my car. But this restaurant makes it really difficult and makes me not want to get pickup from them anymore.

I only saw the waitress when she dropped off the menu and took my order then when she delivered my order then when she brought the check. It was a lot of sitting there hoping her and the other larger girl would look up from their phones to bring me something. Tonight was much worse. Even after leaving a 30% to be nice last night I was completely ignored tonight and after 10 minutes went to the bar and asked for a menu. She never came back to take my order actually a guy from the back that brings food up saw I was being ignored and came up and asked what I wanted and 6 minutes later I had food. Then it was a 20 minute wait to get a check while they were busy yelling at guys across the lobby. While I'll stay at this hotel again I won't waste my time eating here again. The food was great, no issues with the food, the waitresses just don't care to serve people sitting at tables, just the guys sitting at the bar. Waste of my time and money.

They were to busy on their phone or talking and not tending to the customers. I'll stay at the hotel again but will opt to eat elsewhere or order UBER eats. Worst bang for your buck.
