This was genuinely probably one of the worst experiences I have had in a restaurant. Me and my boyfriend are not from Portsmouth however we were in town for my softball game. After the game we stopped to get something to eat. We waiting without being seated for close to 8 minutes. Which is not a long time, but quite a long time to stand without being acknowledged. It was not very busy, there was a few tables and one larger group. But when I say large I mean more than the other tables, there was only 4 adults and an infant. Me and my boyfriend were seated in the front section near the farther end of the lobby. We waited 20 minutes before even ordering drinks. I ordered a strawberry lemonade and he ordered a dr.pepper. After 10 minutes the waiter came back and asked what I had ordered where I repeated that I asked for a strawberry lemonade. She came back with a dr.pepper and a water. After another 25 minutes, we were getting irritated. Another waiter came and asked if we had been served and we told her no, she asked how long we had been waiting when we told her roughly 45 minutes. She seemed concerned and apologized and went to get our waiter. Our original waiter came back and said she was very busy and she was sorry then we finally placed our order: Fried Pickles, Hatch Queso with Chili, Mac and Cheese Bacon Burger with Tots, and 10 boneless Garlic Parmesan wings with Mac and Cheese. After 20 minutes we got all of our food except for the burger. Upon getting the food the Queso had salsa on it instead of chili, which neither of us like. My wings were cold, and we didnt have any silverware for me to eat the Mac and Cheese. "Why didnt you ask another server?" Literally not a single person passed by us to ask. Unless we specifically got up and walked to the other side of the restaurant to ask someone else we were not getting silverware. Me and him try our hardest to be kind to service workers and to us trying to be patient was being respectful. Finally he got his Mac and Cheese burger that had no Mac and Cheese... We asked for silverware and discovered that my Mac was cold. Now we were really aggravated, we had just waited an hour for our food that was all completely wrong or cold. He brought it to their attention that his MAC AND CHEESE burger was missing MAC AND CHEESE. The lady apologized (who wasnt our server by the way..) and got our server who also apologized and said she would just take it off our check. The receipt on the individual products were all correct meaning it was the cooks not the waitress. We waited a while before even receiving the check. Finally leaving, we were annoyed and still hungry. We sat for an hour and a half for everything to be wrong expect for the dr.pepper and pickles. I am genuinely not upset with the server which is why I am not stating her name. She was very kind and seemed caring. To us it didnt look busy but maybe there was more than what we saw. We are more upset that we waited and all of the food was wrong. I have never written a review, and I always try to reason with people the best I can but this was genuinely just ridiculous. read more

I like to support local restaurants. The servers are gracious and helpful, and the dining area is comfortable. I recently returned and was very disappointed again. I took advantage of their promotion regarding the boneless wings, fries, and veggie offerings. The boneless wings, like the fries, were way too salty and cold, bordering on inedible. The veggies were nowhere to be found. Again! It was the third time. Why is it even offered? I asked for sauce on the side. It came with it on. The quality of the food continues to worsen profoundly. My beef today is with the laziness of the kitchen or perhaps the scrimpiness of the franchise. Since tenders and boneless have become school cafeteria quality, I go with the buffalo ranch chicken sandwich. Obviously, I substitute the buffalo for Caribbean jerk since franks or Tabasco is better than bww buffalo. Also substitute chipotle ranch for ranch. What do I get? A small squirt of Caribbean jerk on top of a 1/4 (literally 3" long) breast of chicken with regular ranch and a side of chipotle ranch. Step up your game bww. Every so often I have to go to a Bdubs to be reminded how much I hate them. This Bdubs in Portsmouth did not fail me. My visit was kind of late - 10 pm on a weeknight The store didn't close until 12 am, so not a good excuse really. Waited a few minutes to be acknowledged at the host stand. I ask the hostess for a booth, she seated me at a table because she wasn't "sure the booth is clean". There were 4 booths open in that section. Okay. The only thing to have about at this bdubs is the bartenders and servers. They are always pleasant and they mix the best drinks! Other than that this bdubs is terrible! It was a recent Friday evening that myself and my daughter decided to grab a bite at this restaurant. I had a very long day and the both of us were hungry so I just wanted to go in, eat fairly quick and get home. Our order was very simple: 2 waters, an order of chicken wings, and my daughter decided she just wanted the fried pickles. It was at least fifteen minutes before we were acknowledged by our waiter. I asked the waiter if they could go ahead and put it in a to-go box because I planned on eating half and then quickly getting on the road eating the other half for lunch the next day. The waiter informed me that they will not put it in a to-go box but that he would bring me a box. I just was like "whatever" and our order was put in. It took probably ten minutes for the waters to arrive. Whatever. After about 30 minutes, my wings made it to the table. No sign of the fried pickles. There were no napkins given to us and we were without refills for an unreasonably long amount of time. The waiter eventually came back when it was convenient for him and told me that another waiter/waitress grabbed my daughters order of fried pickles. So we had to wait for another order. Still no refills or napkins. I had to ask three separate times for a to-go box. Finally after more than an hour my daughters fried pickles arrived. I handed my credit card to the server and told him to bring the to-go boxes and cash me out. He asked if I wanted to see the bill before cashing out. He wanted to make a point that they took off the fried pickles for the inconvenience. It was one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had with a restaurant. We were neglected and the restaurant totally forgot my daughter's food. This was the second time that I've been to this particular restaurant and the first time was a similar experience in terms of length of wait. We entered the restaurant around 9PM. The restaurant was busy but there appeared to be plenty of staff to handle the customers. I will not be going back to this location. read more

If you have an extra 8 hours in your hands, come on in to bdubs. Food takes a great amount of time to take so bring snacks, food comes out with hardly any sauce so you don't have to worry about having too much flavor and there's always a fair amount of waiters/waitresses standing around so you have something to look at instead of the million of tvs on the walls. I have tried the "new" juicier boneless wings twice ( by delivery) and both times they were not any better than before. The last time I ordered several of the wings were dried out and some had no sauce except Where they bumped up against a wing that did have sauce. Ok first off we got seated, got our drinks ordered waited about 15mins for our drink. Got our drinks including an adult sized drink for a four year old, ordered our food, almost an hour later, without seeing our waitress, and empty cups we got our food. We had to flag down the Waite staff to get refills. I personally had to ask twice for a box to take left over's home, then to top off the night my aunt put in a take home order, so we waited and the about 20 minuets later the waitress asked what her order was to "confirm she got it right" lied to my aunts face by saying that it was almost done, and didn't even order it . I get drinks here with friends / colleagues on a fairly regular basis. We tend to sit in the bar area, so the bartenders know us at this point, but they were friendly and attentive long before then, as well. The food and drinks are consistent in quality and the period of time taken to prepare them. They're also great about turning on a certain game you're wanting to watch.
