The food was so good, it definitely felt like eating something your grandparents would fry you up. Real Kentuckian styled food here. I could tell it was made with love. Our server, Thea, was an absolute doll. She was attentive and so friendly. I tipped her over 50%. When I'm back in the area, I'll definitely be coming again. The ambiance was lovely. I worked here for a short while and I have never worked at a more rude and hostile environment! The kitchen acts like they want to kill the servers for no reason... Me and a fellow server was drowning on the floor and the owners wouldn't get off their butts to come help and run the register or do anything to help us. If you don't suck the mangers big toe you can't get anywhere there. Not to mention the other servers are all rude and sneaky and try to get ya in trouble. We've been a couple of times now. Had the fish this last trip, they were out of coleslaw. Fish was well prepared & flavorful. We've both enjoyed breakfast here & it's always well prepared. Yelp did not let us down! We had a delicious and filling breakfast here. After we got our beverages and ordered, the server brought a couple of apple fritters, on the house. The fritters were delicious! Hubby and I both ordered the breakfast skillet, his with bacon, over easy eggs and a biscuit, mine had bacon, scrambled eggs and toast. Everything was delicious and we ordered 6 apple fritters to go! (Great marketing on the part of Pappy's.) Only thing that would have been better is butter on the toast instead of margarine. Was very disappointed in my order today. Hadn't eaten there in a while and thought I would give a carryout a try. I ordered spaghetti. When asked if I wanted, bake spaghetti, I replied no just regular spaghetti. I asked if it came with a side such as a side salad she replied no just garlic bread. When I picked it up, my first thought was oh this is awful light. Is this my order? Yes, it was my order. There was enough spaghetti probably for a child's serving, and two pieces of garlic bread laying on top of the spaghetti to become soggy. The sauce was average in taste with maybe just a little too much oregano. Needless to say there's no value for your money on this meal. Spaghetti is one of the cheapest meals that can be fixed. Amount charged $12.50. I am aware that in today's financial climate, a lot of places are having a rough time. The cost/serving size of this item should be reevaluated and brought in line with some of your other dishes. Next time I'll just go to Giovanni's, not only more spaghetti but cheaper. There a serving of carryout spaghetti is $7.49 and an order of garlic bread is $3.49 total cost $10.98. read more

Very good home style cooking with a good atmosphere and attentive friendly server. The prices are very reasonable if not in the cheap side and with the food tasting as if it was homemade it is well worth putting on your weekly dining rotation. I was concerned that at first we were the only customers, however the place started getting others before we left. We were pleasantly surprised. The waitress had the perfect personality. She brought us a couple of hot excellent apple fritters while we waited for our order. Everything was good. What amazed me the most was how clean it was. Great location! Staff was professional yet treated you like family. We ate breakfast one day and dinner this evening. Large portions of food given. I had open face turkey and the wife had veggie sizzler. Food had that "homemade" taste,you can tell they use family recipes by the texture and seasoning of the food. Overall fabulous experience! They advertise free delivery, but rarely have a driver. The last 5 times I ordered from them, they messed up at least part of the order. Tonight, they left the vegetables out and what they did get right wasn't good. I called and let them know that they had, yet again, messed up our order. They offered to let me come back and get the veggies, but by then everything else would have been cold. I talked to the owner who was very condescending. As I was telling him the problem, he said, "are you finished yet?" They never offered to re-make the two dinners correctly so that everything would be hot. I'll tell you what...ordered eggs over medium..white done..yellow running, grits, bacon and toast. I've ordered food for delivery twice now and both were 1-star experiences. The first delivery took an hour to get to us (we are 15 minutes away) and we were missing a drink and the mayonnaise we made sure to request on the side. The second delivery took just as long. Again, no mayo, even though I made sure to ask twice since it was left out last time. Everything was cold when it got to us! My french toast was cool, doughy, and soggy with syrup that should have come in its own cup on the side. To top it off, as I was signing the receipt and writing down the total (after adding a tip that was more generous than earned) the deliverer told me I didn't have to fill that part out? The part where I write the total plus tip to verify how much I am paying, so no one can go back and add more to the tip?? So shady! read more

Best place in the area for home cooked food... The salad bar has home made dressings, soups were home made- everything from scratch..
