Food was just ok, we ordered nachos add brisket which was decent but there was hardly any sauce and the tray they cooked the nachoes on was too small, so you'd have fully loaded nachos first few bites and then nothing but just chips. My sister, Dad and I had a late lunch at the Armory. It used to be an actual Armory. I loved that the decor stayed true to the origins of the building. You will find uniforms, pictures of veterans and each military branch flag hanging from the ceiling. Our server took great care of us! My sister and Dad had the Louisiana pasta dish, Dad had shrimp and my sister had chicken. I had a bite and it was yummy! I ordered a grilled chicken salad and Asian smoked wings. My salad was pretty big and the chicken with tasty. It was served with a garlic breadstick that smelled good, but I gave it to my Dad to have with his pasta. This was the first potato I had to scoop the topping out because i couldn't taste the potato. 16 oz ribeye - 3/5. The steak appeared cooked how I ordered it however it wasn't that hot. This place is not hidden, but it's a gem...as far as the quality of food is concerned. We've visited this establishment on a couple of occasions. The first time was a Tuesday afternoon. It was not busy and the service and food were great! The brisket Philly, burger, and stuffed mushrooms were delectable! On a separate occasion, we visited on Saturday evening. It took about 10 minutes for our party of 4 to be recognized. We were told that it would be a 20-30 minute wait. We opted out because we observed a wait staff that appeared to be overwhelmed. If they had given you a vegetable wit it, I would have been thrilled but I ordered a small salad with it and it just seemed, like too much pasta and not enough crunch. Just had one of the worst dining experiences of my life. This is also the first negative review I've ever written. My wife and her sister (along with the husbands) took their parents out for their dad's birthday. After our house salads which were pretty good, our entrees were delivered. Well five of them were. It became apparent fairly quickly that our waitress forgot to let in mine. I ordered the fried haddock with broccoli and a sweet potato. Rather than apologizing she threw the kitchen under the bus by saying that fried fish "took longer", which is ridiculous. Fifteen minutes later, which confirmed our suspicions that the order just wasn't included originally, I was delivered the fish with a side of asparagus. I quickly reminded her that I ordered different sides. While she went back to the kitchen, blaming them for messing up the order, a carbon copy of my last plate arrived. Finally, about ten minutes later my two sides arrived. Attached is a photo of the most miserable sweet potato I've ever seen. The entire table laughed uncontrollably. As the waitress heard this she explained that the sweet potatoes were out of season and "were much larger a few months ago." My question was "if you knew this already, why wouldn't you suggest I try another side?" At the end of the night, rather than comping my meal, we were given a large glazed donut with a scoop of ice cream, which none of us wanted. I understand she was trying to do something nice, but after an evening of delays, missed orders, bad food (my brother-in-law ordered the meat platter and was very disappointed), taking my order off the bill would have been nice. Today after seeing some impressive social media post and it being over a year since last visit I took my father there for his 92nd Birthday. The building is an old armory and is decorated with old uniforms, weapons, and maps. The prices are very reasonable and the bar uses the bottom-fill system for beers. It only lacks a 5 star review because their menu is "transitioning" and they didn't have several things listed on the menu. The server was very nice and apologized. Also, the service was really slow. Well I went for the second time a few weeks ago and I will say I was very disappointed!! The steak was not very good at all. It wasn't tender nor was it cooked the way I had asked . They wasn't super busy so I don't believe that was the reason,but I can't actually say what it was . They raised the prices to and for the money the steak definitely did not even come close to what they charge . Service was good our waitress was friendly but a little forgetful.
