The first time in the shop we bought flour tortillas that you cook at home. They are excellent. The clerk explained on our first visit that on the weekends they prepare barbacoa and menudo. They serve different dishes every day for lunch but the weekends are special. On our second visit we sampled the barbacoa and purchased half pound of it. On the way out of the store the clerk gave us a container of menudo to try at home. We also bought some green sauce but they had given us a red and a green sauce in the bag with the barbacoa. The green sauce is spicy but is the best I have tasted in the valley so far! I am addicted! Today we returned and bought more barbacoa and some carnitas. More flour tortillas and more green sauce. I immediately tasted the carnitas when I got home and it is soooo delicious. We chatted at length with the clerk learning he is the owner. He is so friendly and very professional. We are just learning to speak Spanish and he was very encouraging. All of the products they sell are from Mexico and all their prepared foods are authentic recipes. We will be regulars at this little shop.

We saw THIS spot -Tacos Las Brasas and decided to try it. We're from out of town and don't know the area much, only in town when we visit family. They speak Spanish but also had someone come out who spoke English, cool dude. He helped us with the order and got half an order to try. Man, were we hooked!! We ended up choosing their to eat and ordering for the whole family. 6 taco orders of different kinds but each one had great flavor. Definitely recommend the one with avocado and cheese (sorry, don't remember name), but you won't go wrong with your choice. The frijoles (beans) were so good we had to get a large cup of it. Man! The lady working was very helpful, she told us the items and how much stuff cost. The vibe was interesting since it was completely empty when we came in, but they had just opened. I ordered the beef tacos that resembled birria although I forget the actual item name. It was a 10/10 perfect dish. The flavor was impactful and the texture was perfect.
