Went to have lunch at this place for the first time, their special was crab, but there was no crab to serve. They brought me some chips and salsa. The red salsa had a hair in it. I complained to the waitress, she said let me bring you another bowl. I said will that bowl have hair in it too? She just laughed. I complained to the cashier also, she didn't seem to care. So I asked for the manager and he just gave me excuses. When they brought me my bill it wasn't even discounted a dollar for my inconvenience or competed. Sunday brunch at Ostioneria Michoacán today and loved it! Ordered the Parrillada de Mariscos. It was loaded with delicious seafood. Irma was our server - she has served me before and I find her to be friendly and knowledgable about the menu items. I definitely want to come back and try the grilled octopus! For a seafood place I found the seafood to be quite underwhelming. The oysters a la parilla/grilled oysters were a miss for me. After being grilled, they shrunk considerably. Not much to eat. Plus, they didn't taste fresh and small pieces of shell weren't cleaned off. Also tried the lunch special fajita, which were okay. Lunch specials and happy hour drinks are a good deal. Monday-Friday from 3-7pm, beers are $3. Margaritas on Wednesday are $2 all day. I don't see myself going back here for the seafood. read more

As you can see in one of my pictures...not even the fried shrimp is deveined! Other than this practice, their service is great. Their rice is the best as well as other grilled dishes. María: I still think shrimp needs to be deveined as the veins are not MEAT, and yes, it does affect the taste of the shrimp since its waste what's in those veins. Great find for traditional Mexican seafood. Previously I had the shrimp and catfish and tonight was the Mar y Tierra, seafood, chicken and beef with rice, beans, guacamole and tortillas. Excellent! When the plate arrived I was thinking "wow, HUGE amount of food" because it also came with a ton of rice, fries and bread. Taste was great on everything! It was my husband's bday and he chose to go there. He ordered shrimp al mojo de ajo and I ordered fried catfish. The plates looked pitiful. It was a few shrimp with garlic on the bottom no sauce or anything very dry. My catfish must have been on a diet for a month before I got it. Small, skinny and dry. Half a slice of bread I asked for another piece and the waitress said we had to pay more for it. Salad was dry no salad dressing one slice of cucumber and a small slice of tomato. We just poured the salsa on all the dryness bc we didn't even get a spoon. Paid $45. Suffice it to say NEVER AGAIN! read more

Worst place. After walking in and not being greeted or acknowledged for a few minutes we were seated. 20 min later my family and I left after being ignored by the waitress (a guy) several times. He seemed discouraged to work, after asking him for a refill, he picked up the cup only to set it at another table for about 5 minutes, then proceed to head to get a refill. I spoke to another staff member and explained my concerns on the bad service, no apology, no nothing. She just said to speak to the waitress (whom we complained about) and get our bill for the drinks. Management just stood and watched, didn't even take the time to speak or apologize to us. My tocayo and business associate took us here a couple weeks ago and my wife and I now go regularly. What can I say, it is very good seafood and definitely a good value. The atmosphere was pleasant, the restaurant clean and the staff attentive. The food was well prepared and the seafood was delicious with, no hint of bad storage that plagues most seafood restaurants this far inland. The two people who order the whole fried catfish in garlic sauce loudly exclaimed how much they enjoyed their meals. The wait staff provided excellent and timely service. We have eaten at this place a number of times throughout the time we've lived here. The seafood has always been fresh and tasty. Their salsa Verde is so good, and their red salsa is pretty darn good as well. The chips fresh and crunchy. My hubby loves the rice which comes as a side. Tonight, I had a super shrimp quesadilla. Good guacamole, sour cream, pico and lettuce came with this generous sized shrimp quesadilla. I loved it! Hubby had a shrimp plate and really enjoyed it as well. My only complaint about this place is well, all of the white stuff in the combo plates. Let's see, there is white rice, Really good white rice, and then there's white toasted bread. Also tasty, but very white...and last but not least, there are French fries. Again with the white. Where's the color and nutritional balance? Anyway, that's my only complaint. Ate here again Tuesday evening with some girlfriends at the bar and ordered drinks and appetizers and when the food came it was time to open up the napkin a damn roach crawled out!! A roach in the utensils! The manager was informed and did nothing but take it away. I thought the bill would definitely be taken care or free food on the house. Nope! She compt one beer from the whole ticket! Don't eat here unless you want roaches that have just been all over your forks and knives.
